Pretty much every example here from Season 1 was keyed by the outstanding Spencer Wan! He’s worked on other amazing stuff like the animated Hades trailer so I highly recommend checking out his work
I just realized Good Witch Azura's magic staff has an egg shaped gem on top. I'm wondering if the egg will be Luz's palismen, a symbol of potential and new life.

I'm just saying my theory, which could be wrong. If I am, people will see my comment and look back at a time when we didn't know, and then probably laugh at me for being ignorant to knowledge that hadn't been revealed to us yet. If I'm right, people will see my comment and be awed by how I predicted the future.

that 30 seconds in the new episode was amazing. not spoiling what it is for people who haven’t seen it yet for some reason, but it’s one of, if not the best animated fight in the series
I’m unable to see the new episodes, it takes a few months for these things to come out in ireland sadly. I only just recently got the last few episodes of amphibia, which came out months ago.
I love seeing the difference when creators lower or raise the frame rate of shows (AS ARTISTIC CHOICE NOT THE AI BULLCRAP) it really helps add to crucial moments and emphasizes the point
Honestly still think Lilith got off too easily, especially when she kept using Luz as a tool and almost killing her to make Eda submit and get her stoned even if her only intention was healing her. Too far man
yeahhh a big problem with TOH is its pacing, you can tell they rushed to fit a lot of concepts into a small amount of time. obviously the seasons were cut short yadda yadda yadda, but it shows sometimes
@@dangdao8068 even with the series being cut short, i feel like they could have made Lilith's redemption a little more believable. not a super detailed Zuko-esque redemption arc, but something that didn't feel like she got away scot-free with permanently cursing her sister, trying and almost succeeding in killing a literal child and almost getting her sister turned to stone.
4:55 a lot of people might think he's saying "kill him" but he's actually saying "caleb" as a reference to season 3 after he saw hunters palismen "flapjack". caleb was belos' brother who got lured into the boiling isles by a witch. caleb had flapjack as a palismen and hunter (acording to lore) is a clone of caleb
Then it will become epic, because in the pre-storyline the animation is wacky, whimsical, and cartoon logical but until in the mid-storyline the animation changes itself into the most smoothest and intense battle, edgy fights, and a dramatic animesque acting that makes cartoons felt even more anime. That’s why cartoons are very animesque, which can lead into a transformation into a real anime itself. So that’s why anime is more popular than cartoons.

Plus the smooth animation isn't "more anime" it's not like anime don't oscillate between smooth and lower quality animation either. If you look at something like one punch man the low quality animation is used to great effect to contrast with the smooth fight scenes. And if you look at something like madoka you'll also see major discrepancy between the animation quality of some scenes despite all of them being serious. Anime definitely inspired some more recent cartoons but that's just kinda how art works. Kinda like how you can see moebius influence in some of miyazaki's work or something like sherlock holmes inspiring detective conan. The owl house is not trying to be an anime, it's a cartoon inspired by it's contemporaries and doing it's own thing and that's great.
I love how they make the animation smooth for fight scenes but also for important scenes. It keeps things interesting and makes an impact for those important scenes!
I wish the show was longer for many reasons but mainly because Lilith was very cool as a villain and she had to very quickly redeem herself to make way for those that followed, she could've been a nice Zuko-type that joins the good guys way later. Still like her though, but look at those fights! It's witch on witch with both showing they are the best and yet how their styles are incredibly different

I don't think she could have, because he can easily just petrify her if he feels like it, and even without that he can just fling her around with his staff
One thing I appreciate about these smooth animation is how they apply weight visually into their movements. This sense of weight makes it feel so realistic without succumbing to realism. It’s why all of the character acting in Chainsaw Man feels so realistic. It’s why the battle between the Hexside squad and Belos feels so realistic. It’s why the Lumity dance feels so realistic.
