Ashjan’s Journey from Malnutrition to Recovery

Among the world’s highest, malnutrition in Yemen - if it’s not urgently addressed- will cause irreparable damage to children’s health and cognitive abilities and will adversely affect Yemen’s human capital outcomes and economic prospects in the long-run.
For Yemeni children to grow healthy and strong, UNDP and SFD works together to combat malnutrition and support child health care through providing urgent cash to mothers with children at risk of malnutrition - as well as pregnant women - to help them access healthcare and purchase nutritious food for themselves and their children. They are also educated on proper health and nutrition practices by community health educators to better take care of their children.
