Fantastic work guys can't wait for the next one 😀
that was fantastic ! sooo again next week ? please ?
Please play this again?!
Excellent work, NRB! I can't wait to get my official copy of BOTC.
What role does Moveer play in the online version? Does it make it easier for storytellers (admins) to move folks around?
Please play this game again it was awesome
I love the idea of sully slamming down a beer and then going: "guys guys guys, I had an EMPATHIC VISION just now"
And slinging his arms around John and Luke and saying “ these are my BEST friends they’re so safe don’t worry “
I love the fact that in the second-to-last round, Blair pretty much nailed the entire set-up (Sullivan being drunk, Elliott being the recluse and Luke being the imp), and everyone just kind of ignored it and said, "But wait, what if it's Blair?" Just hilarious.
I think they were thinking Blair was drunk or playing a long evil game, which would make sense if she had been the imp, and people were suspicious of her anyway because of Luke and Laurie (as well as Sully)
@@wulfricr7635
If they took a minute to sit down and logic puzzle it out, Blair's spot-on assessment was the only conclusion without contradictions that could be reached - outside of maaaaaaaybe Oli making one hell of an Imp play, claiming Raven, killing himself and falsely implicating Laurie, and there actually being a poisoner up to that point, somehow perfectly poisoning the right person every round.
But that would mean the last two turns wouldn't have had a poisoner, which means that Isaac would have identified the correct first imp still, which would have cleared Oli, which means his read of Scarlet Woman was the only possible read.
That always seems to happen in social deduction games. The first person to figure it out has to convince people who haven't figured it out yet, which is tough. And then because they try to be so convincing, it comes across as manipulation.
@@Samael1113 @Samael 11 well in the world where Oli is the Imp Isaac would have to be his poisoner. Jon would have HAD to have been poisoned night 1, Blair would have Had to have been poisoned night 2, Sully would have HAD to have been poisoned night 3 (and in this world Sully has correct info as a non drunk empath since Laurie and Elliott are the two outsiders).
So this is possible and kind of falls in line with some of the theories that were being thrown around. I dont fully understand the guilty Blair universe that Isaac was living in though
Blair figured it out by chance. there were multiple routes that could've led to the right answer but she happened to pick the right one
Just look at the ending accusations: Laurie makes complete sense about Isaac and Blair's only reason to disagree is because she was dead set on her own faulty opinion
What was Blair's accusation? Mostly just 'well we should vote and if Laurie is the saint then bad luck lol'
Adam: Have you seen your character?
Luke: I haven't. Let me just check. Oh shit. I'm the thing.
"Aw man, I have to fight Kurt Russell and Keith David now." -Luke, probably
Made me crack up too at the start of the 2nd night when they were like "you're the reason we're dead" and Luke was like "oh shit, yeah...sorry lads" lol
Blair & Oli's role swap was a really strong play for brand new players!
They were new to BloodTower but they have a lot of board game experience
I lost it when Sully declared Luke and Jon as being “definitely not-evil” xD
The Drunk: "I love these guys."
[The Drunk wraps his arms around his two neighbors.]
The Drunk: "Don't you guys all think these two are the best!?" [hiccup] "You guys are great. You're my b-best buds. DRINKS ON ME TONIGHT!"
The mechanic that you get to keep playing after death is so genius for this kind of game. Anyone who’s played Town of Salem knows the worst part is how pissy people get when they get executed wrongly and that if you die early you’re just sat there waiting for it to be over, or worse you’re a medium and everyone keeps leaving the game as soon as they die, keeping everyone involved adds a great dynamic where players are happy to die if their power is used up and information can be gathered from them dying.
It actually is a great compromise between original town of Salem and one night ultimate Werewolf
I really like giving the killer that moment that Laurie had when he had to choose to kill Sullivan, Blair, or Issac. Having that moment of thinking how the kill is going to effect the vote and how it appears.
Which is why I like multiple paced out deaths.
1:56:30 Isaac’s reaction and the snap cut
*chefs kiss*
It was an editorial masterpiece.
I absolutely love Sully and the drunk was the perfect role for his silly self to have 😂😂
Thank you SO MUCH to whoever EDITED this glorious monstrosity, letting us be the fly on the wall in all those private conversations. I've enjoyed every episode of Board Game Club but this was your crowning glory! What a game, what a cast, what a video! Bravo!
Yes, the editing of these shows must take a lot of effort, but i definitely appreciate it and it makes it as enthralling as what it is.
Isaac not grasping that him being told that elliot wasnt the recluse does nothing to disprove elliot as the recluse because thats literally the entire power of the role, was driving me crazyyyy
Hats off to Blair for solving the puzzle.
Especially as she was getting so little respect. She had good organization, good questions, good deduction and she communicated well. I'd say she deserves more than 14.3% of the credit for the win, possibly as much as 30%. I also think Luke and Laurie did a really good job of surviving as long as they did in all that chaos. Managing the truth AND the lies is so hard and they almost pulled it off. Good work all around!
Blair MVP
@@hoebare Oli almost threw by voting Isaac 🤣🤣🤣
She would have had it sooner just after the 1 hour mark, but it didn't click in that moment. Both her and Jon getting similar information and both of them being drunk/poisoned is pretty unlikely, yet she didn't voice that if Elliot was indeed the Recluse, then Laurie would have to be the evil one.
"you're both safe, as long as I'm not drunk or poisoned" sully says
HE SAYS IT SO MANY TIMES
Oli "I'm a pretty big deal" Davis
Luke: Alright, who should we kill tonight?
Sully: *wears a giant bright neon glowing hat that says “I’M IMPORTANT!”*
Laurie: Found a target.
Tom: Indeed.
And then nothing! Sully managed to live until right near the end. The all important Monk kill had to happen. Then it was Oli who had set a trap. Not sure I'd have picked up on it, but a living out Empath is a major target, so Sully not dying for so long should have been sus. Thankfully they worked it out at the end (like, when the role call was done ;-)
I can definitely feel the
“One more game” aspect to this game. I can only imagine how much I’d want to play again if I just spent 2 hours to lose.
Getting close to two years on from this. Sully outing himself as the empath night one was absolutely insane.
Isaac being so confident on Elliot being the Poisoner when the Recluse shows as evil even in death, is also insane.
The funniest thing is Sully has and hasn't changed at all 😂 it's just amazing to see how far they've come.
I really dig the control that the storytellers have in this game
There's definitely a bit of a Dungeon Master aspect to it, which is cool
It's a brilliant innovation because the storyteller(s) can choose to help whichever team is currently struggling. A catch-up mechanic in a social deduction game! The downside is that it might make it a tougher game to sell because you do need someone to be the storyteller for the game to work properly. Most non D&D gamers aren't used to that and may not like it.
Late to the party, but I personally think being ST is the best part of the game. You set up a puzzle for the town, but then you spend the next 1-4 hours trying to solve your own puzzle of how to keep the game balanced and fun. You're also trying to predict metas and anyone that's played enough BotC should know that there is no "correct move". You as the ST are trying to guess what people think is the "right" move (or if they'd go against the group's meta) and plan ahead. It's really fun. You see a lot of surprising moves by players and you often have to think on your feet. (It's also fun having all the information in the game because it's like watching a movie your friends/family/strangers are starring in.)
If you don't believe me that there is no "right" meta, I watched a 5 day game where a Leviathan outed himself day 1 as the Demon and every single defense was along the lines of "Don't kill me. I'm the Demon. I have to survive to final 2." Everyone was busting up laughing but he legitimately won that way. Every time someone gave a reason he'd be bluffing Demon, he'd say he isn't bluffing and he really is Demon. (And note that Leviathan does not kill. They have to survive past day 5's nominations.) So yes, outing yourself as Empath day 1 publically can actually be a good move. Don't just believe in meta. (Imagine a character that wants to die publically claiming Empath and acting like it's an accident.) Think about it. If something seems like it's obviously the dumbest move possible, they'll assume nobody would do it. So just do that and you're free. (The only exception is, obviously, moves that literally end the game with your team losing...unless Heretic might be in play.)
@@kyleb8117
I believe you
I loved how Ben explained how against meta it was for sully to reveal himself but how it worked out in his favor thanks to there being a monk and him giving the demon an out with his drunkenness
I also like how the storyteller gets to have their own game. They aren’t exactly playing along, but it’s more involved than most.
@@EmmaBonn96 It's almost like they're another player. They're the player that is there to answer any questions and be helpful in any way they can...but they also have to keep a straight face and lie to people's faces about what's really going on. You often (both online and in person) walk around and hop in private chats and just generally have fun conversation with everyone. Sometimes, you remind them of rules just because you know it'll mess with their brains and they'll think you did it for game reasons. lol. It's a blast.
This was absolutely incredible. It’s probably a massive pain in the arse to arrange to play this again but please do
And if you thought this would be a pain in the arse to reorganise, who would have thought that it would be a live series!
@@Lady_SanctuaryI don’t want to say this comment was solely responsible for all the amazing clock tower content we’ve been treated to since, I’ll just say you’re welcome everybody.
I just love Sully so much. I want to be his best friend, and everyone needs to keep him safe.
I’m glad someone else feels like this. Fairly new to the NRB party and found myself immediately drawn to him. I want to be his friend.
It’s funny going back and seeing how open everyone was with their info in the first few games of BOTC 🤣🤣
Rewatching is damn cool, completely agree!
But also unreasonably cagey too
Its also funny just how ready they are to kill or be killed now compared to the early games
Adam grinning whenever Laurie is referred as Scarlet Woman. And you can see he's ecstatic to play with his mates.
He grinned every time Sully made his knowledge known too. Tried hiding it behind his hand.
This was so good I would love to see this again 2hrs went so fast and I haven’t laughed so much I loved it!!!
I was actually annoyed when the moderator was saying “I need to press you for a nomination” like noooooo shut up let them keep talking this is hilarious hahah but I imagine they didn’t want to have this game go on so so so long hahah
"Me and Sullivan have pretty tight lips here"
Amazing line!
Haven’t finished it yet but I’m so excited knowing they’re gonna lose it when they find out Sully is a drunk, he’s been leading the group basically the whole time and he hasn’t got a clue
That "oh, shit" moment from Isaac made my day. I can see why Adam loves this game so much.
Honestly, if possible this game could definitely be a recurring Board Game Club episode every once in a while.

The most tense episode of BGC ever! Drunk Sullivan revealing himself as the Empath on the first day is so perfect!
Kudos to Blair for almost having everything figured out day 4! So frustrating when they almost lost it due to not knowing that the recluse can register as a minion!
Brilliant episode!
Coming back to watch from the beginning and seeing this just makes me amazed at how far they've come. I've watched so many episodes that I forgot about the explanation of the game at the beginning and throughout the episode. Now they are all seasoned players.
Anyone else think that Blair deserves the trophy for her performance here, especially in the last round?
2 goddamn hours? That means we're having twice as fun!
Sulli and Blair are specially fantastic personalities. Bubbly and complex.
Same!
Blair is annoying
The BEST episode of Board Game Club so far.
Oh, friend! The best is yet to come!
As someone who's starting this series from the back end, that makes me very, very excited
@@PaperLaur The live episodes are absolutely incredible. Totally hooked me on this channel.
Now I'm going back and watching the older ones so I'll more understand the meta that had developed by then.
It's always amazing when Sully stumbles through to a win.
This game takes all the good parts from Town of Salem and Werewolf and makes a great game. So much fun
I'm a mark for the Wrestletalk gang but am easily warming up to the players who frequent here. Anyone who doesn't follow the snarky comments of cheeky Jon on poker face Tom and aloof banter of silly Sullivan I recommend backlogging to previous videos. It is quite a delight to watch everyone's personalities develop on this channel. Cheers!
This is the best innocent origin story for Sully eventually becoming the master evil manipulator in their first Imp-person game.
Blair was, without a doubt, the MVP of this episode. Wonderful episode all around, mind you, but they have the mind of a Detective, and its brilliant.
2 hour long episode with everyone? I've gotta be dreaming
Best one yet mates. Give us a part 2
Sullivan being the drunk is fantastic because this game was drunk as hell as soon as he came out as the (drunk) empath.
This was BRILLIANT! Isaac's reaction at 1:56:28 had me in tears!
One thing this game proved...Luke is a bad liar. 😂
He really is quite terrible at it, yeah. Lol
Absolutely awful lmao
Hahaha
Laurie couldn't go 10 seconds near the end without saying "loads of misinformation"
I was mostly surprised that he kept saying his Soldier play obviously didn't work when it was between him and Sulivan, surely there being no kills the first night is a great time to suggest that it wasn't a Monk shield but the Soldier's ability that stopped anyone dying?
Are Jon & Sully anyone else's favorites ?
Spoiler (maybe? IDK):
Isaac's reaction when he learned he executed the Imp
Oh man the moment when Sully was "informed" that Isaac was the Demon was hilarious
I just found not only this game but also this channel and I am now officially obsessed with this! Going to be binging all of these videos.
Enjoy
Its a thing of beauty
I love the fact everyone is here! 😁 Can't wait to watch it all!
This was INCREDIBLE. I would LOVE to see another play through sometimes. Just absolutely brilliant from everyone
*SPOILERS*
If Luke keeps his hand up and ties the votes at 3-3 with himself and Blair at 1:52:37 he and Laurie win. I was cheering for them the whole time!
Yup. If he had voted for Blair, they would have won. Luke really isn't good at all at being duplicitous.
They wouldn’t win but they’d be closer. That would put them on the next day with 4 people alive, but the dead can still vote. So as long as the dead votes went to the imp on that day, the townies could still win
That's actually not right. There were still 5 left, so if they village didn't kill anyone then the demon would kill and there'd be 4 left. Good would still win by killing Luke the next day.
Alternatively they could've decided to kill Laurie, the suspected Scarlet woman. Then Luke kills a goodie and they're down to the final 3 with another chance to kill him.
Good only is in significantly worse shape if they decide to kill someone besides Laurie. But even then they'd still have a shot to kill Luke the next day (but more of a chance to get it wrong if they somehow believed the person they killed was the real demon, and then believed that Laurie's Scarlet Woman ability activated).
Amazing to see where the crew started to today the subtle changes to vocab where it could of made differences "Issac is evil" Instead of "I got X tonight" or Blair saying they are good or bad instead of saying "They are atleast not the demon per my check" etc
This was phenomenal. Well done to Blair and massive props to the editors. I’m a massive fan of Werewolf, I host regular games with my friend group and massive groups with my local meetup group (usually 40ish), but the mods have massive power in this, it’s insane. Will have to look into buying this one eventually.
Here I am. More than 2 years later. And just seeing how much this crew has grown [including the ones to join later and those we haven't seen in a while)
I've never felt so connected to a group of great ppl that I have never met. This game was so great. I couldn't stop watching and wish it went longer. Props to you Adam for such a great channel with amazing content! 👏 👏 👏
Honestly one of the best things I've ever seen! Everything about this game is just amazing and the way you all played was phenomonerds!
The only way this could’ve been topped is if Detective Sullivan made a cameo 🤣 by far the best episode of BGC yet - well done all 👏🏽
I love this channel. I’m a visual learner so I’m really glad you guys started playing these games in full on the channel
This was fantastic. I usually skip through long games like this, but I watched every second of this one. Definitely need to play it again!
Massive credit to the editors for the great cuts between the different rooms
What a perfectly crafted first game. Well done guys Inspirational storytelling and the players did ridiculously well. Ive been so low these past few months and watching this has given me such a vigour and zest for life. Thanks for the craft guys!
This entire series is amazing. I’ve been laughing out loud while binge watching these. Thank you for making my day better
Brilliant episode, brilliant game. Please do a repeat of BOTC: It's so good!
I love this channel. Look forward to these every week, you’ve got a brilliant ensemble of amazing personalities and I just want more.
I just want to say BGC has become my favorite thing on UA-cam as I am a huge board game nerd who misses playing awesome games with my friends. I enjoy the hell out of this crew of amazing people! Can’t wait to dive into this huge 2 hour murder fest! Maybe in the future we will be blessed with more than one episode a week, but I understand y’all are busy running so many great channels. Thanks for always bringing a smile to our faces. Much love. Also let’s go Mr. Davis! Also hoping for more Sully vs Jon 😂
Edit: after viewing this episode this was by far the best episode of BGC and this game needs to be played like at least every 2-3 months! So much fun
Thank you for this wonderful birthday present, definitely an amazing episode of BGC. Love this channel so much
I NEED one of these every week. I know they must take up so much time and require great effort to put together but this is better than a film
This was a delight to watch! I hope you'll do more of these in the future. Loved the editing and listening in on these private conversations.
This has just made me want to combine my youtube playlists and watch profilers and behavioral analysts play this game! Soooooo goooooooood!
BEST BOARD GAME CLUB EVER! I could watch you play this game a thousand times. Blair, as always our hero
This was so entertaining, you guys are all brilliant. Suspense and humour really good two hours of entertainment - thank you all so much. These games I find impossible to watch as everyone is speaking over the top but this is edited and done superb.
This episode was absolutely perfect, shout out to Sully being my new alarm sound 😂
Well that was AMAZING. Very anxiety inducing, but amazing. Required 100 PERCENT of my attention and had me anxiously pacing around the house with my phone in hand, absolutely loved it!
100000% My favourite episode of Board Game Club so far, it's 1am and I'm absolutely engrossed. Good job Ben and Adam as well for keeping the story going so well 🙂
After an extremely tough week, this episode made it all worth it for 2 hours of amazingness, thank you guys so much ❤️
I hope there can be replays of board games because this was loads of fun and would be a nice replay in the future
I want more secret hitler! (Do NOT take that out of context)

This one.... Lads.... I mean, really lads.... For real😮! This one reserves a replay
100% agree, this was the best so far by a mile! (Also... now I know the rules, I might as well watch more!)
What an incredible game!! You guys made my night.... I really really hope you can arrange another round of this game!
Wow!!! What a game!!! Probably the best episode of Board Game Club yet. Like someone has said, this must have taken a lot of work to set up but would LOVE to see more of this game.
1:52:33 NOOOO!!! Luke :(
The misplay is painful. The pressure got to him. Also he never claimed that the reason there was no death night one was because the demon attacked him.
Sullivan made me so happy in this game. He entertained me so much 😂🤣
Excellent video guys, I look forward to these every week and this has to be my favourite episode so far 😊
One of my absolute favourite sessions I've watched, and would love to see another one!
The discussion between Ben and Adam was an interesting new insight into just how good Ben really is at sprinkling flavour and weaving a yarn... and makes for facinating viewership, too. Such an amicable group that played so well for their first game -- and -- made use of actually talking in groups of *all* sizes, something which I've seen people overlook to their detriment. Also, the effort in production made it so easy to watch as well; day transitions were an atmospheric touch which went well with the online UI.
Stayed up to watch this, cheers guys! Had so much fun laughing along and I wasn't even there!
This was a fantastic watch, reminds me of town of Salem back in the day! Also Blair is just so lovely and Sullivan is a hoot! Truly a lovely time with the gang
This was without a doubt not just the best board game club video but the best video on the channel. Superb and I really want this game now.
I definetely 100% need more of this on the channel, absolutely superb
My face hurts from smiling. Thank you for two hours of joy.
This is my favorite episode by far, such a great time. Thank you for this, I so look forward to the adventures of the BGC! :)
A two hour episode of Board Game Club?!?!?!?!?! Never mind watching WandaVision, this is where I’m spending my afternoon!
This was amazing. I would love to see you guys play more of this game
That was so intense and an absolutely lovely time! Thank you for showing us new games and a wonderful show. If there ever comes a time when Board Game Club starts playing through repeat games, this is definitely one I’d love to see again.
I'd love to see more games like this for Board Game club, this was great.
Okay this is actually the best. I LOVE LOVE LOVED this episode. Thank you so much Adam, Ben and the NRB team.
sullivan is the best of us and constantly reminds me of this with every word he says
You weren't lying when you were saying this was one of the best board game clubs so far 👀 Really pleased you've been able to pull this off and it's lovely to see you do something which you can tell you are really passionate about Adam
Man... what the hell was Oli doing?!?!? he knew Laurie was the Scarlet Woman on the night they killed the Imp, so obviously Laurie would now be the Imp and at the end he doesn't vote for Laurie and votes for Isaac saying that Laurie was the Scarlet Woman... he was making me so anxious!!
Also, Blair, Oli, Tom and Jon had the perfect plan sorted out, they had figured that Laurie was the Scarlet woman when Oli died, they had decided that they would nominate Laurie to avoid the transfer from the Imp and then they get to the village and Blair nominates Luke?!?
i think we get the benefit of the fantastic edit, making the string of info look clean and sensible. Esp with the storyteller explaining every night the logic.
Its gotta be hell to play this game live in your own little cottage and trying to keep track of it all. And ill say i think thats why Olli might have mistrusted the very own info he got as the Ravenkeeper. I'll also add that a lot of the games seem to unravel as social reads override information from the storyteller, esp where the storyteller can actively help one side if the information parity is not even
I think voting for Luke was the right play on the outside chance that Laurie really was the Saint, cause it still kept enough numbers to then vote for Laurie the next day.
This was absolutely incredible. I have a lot of catching up to do in this series it turns out. I haven't laughed that much in a long time.
I absolutely adored this episode of Board Game Club. Definitely the most exciting one so far.
Adam, if you're reading this... You've got to play this game again!!!
I'd really like to see this game as a regular series maybe once every 1-2 months or so. Those two hours went by really fast!
I've watched all of these in reverse order, and honestly they are all great. :)
going back to old eps of this and wow…. they got alot better at this game. this one was kinda brutal compared to later ones 😂
This was fantastic. I had no idea what was going on through most of it, I'd probably be awful at it if I played it myself, but the whole thing was hugely enjoyable. I really hope you guys play this again.
Oh, the early days. Before he was "Daddy Ben". I'm going through all these again while I wait for the new patreon ones, since I've forgotten how most of them went.
