They know how to play defense... They are asked to play much different in international play though. US teams also don't play together nearly as much as other international teams. When they all get on the same page defensively and offensively they are so far ahead of everybody else.
Their fundamental skills are so lacking, yet they managed to win the gold in Olympics: (1984, 1988, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016). What do you say, coach?
