i don't know if you read the comments on old videos of live streams. but i watched these videos all the time when you first uploaded them, it was a very strange and isolating/depressing period of my life and your genuine enthusiasm and awe and willingness to just open up to the game gave me a lot of comfort and inspiration. i find myself rewatching everything whenever i feel strange and lonely again, like right now. i changed what feels like a hundred times since 2018 and i'm sure that that's the case for you too but i somehow always come back to this cozyness and playfulness. thank you so much
I heard of a guy who cosplayed as Ryo and he would walk around the convention all day doing the stiff Dreamcast walk and going up to random people saying "What can you tell me about people from China?"
I was reading the chat around 1:32:40. Yeah, a lot of things came together to kill off the Dreamcast. But all things considered, it was still an amazing console. It had a huge and iconic line-up of games, and that online feature (which still works today!) was to die for. Sure it had some hardware issues, but those were nothing when you took a look at the lineup of games and how many hours you could pour into each one. Take Shenmue for example. An extremely immersive game that set a new bar for open-world games. Not to mention, it _invented_ the Quick-Time Event (QTE). With it's 3rd entry arriving soon, I wish I had an original Dreamcast and an original Xbox to play the games they were meant to be played rather than its latest HD collection. Don't get me wrong I'm super happy the games got the treatment they deserve and now have these HD collections, but to me, I would rather play them on the consoles they came from. I dunno. Not to mention, Sonic Adventure and Adventure 2, Space Channel 5, ChuChu Rocket, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, even the port of Quake (that people can still play online today if you have all the hookups), and more. Never owned a Dreamcast myself, as I was born literally a month before it came out, but man, if I grew up with it, I'm sure it'd be my favorite console.
23:56 "no matter... how often you ask... I'll NEVER tell!" "MMM whatta hamburger!" the bad translation and amazing timing of the sub, just... comedy gold 😂
So far I like Shenmue too! I heard about it, but never seen anyone play it, so yeah this is fun. Can't wait for the next stream :) You're not lame Ian. I'm very introverted too and don't open up as much as I want to, but I wanna be more personable without feeling uncomfortable around new people. Its a work-in-progress for sure. The chat does seem awesome. When I get up the nerve one day I'll join in. OMG I could talk about animation in general for HOURS! Its my favorite genre ever!
3:34:30Ah, this is Sega's universe, where they own games and food companies, and Mario has gone bankrupt and now has to earn money by running a restaurant.
hi moose great shenmue stream hope to see your other shenmue streams really love this game as well im aaron from uk also loved the american truck simulator games and simulator ones from other countries and the nice relaxing music to end the day.
4:41:51 "I wanna not give a shit" As absurd as it may sound, the easiest way to do that is to just stop doing that. Just stop giving a sh!t, pretty much everyone you meet does it (they are way too busy thinking about themselves anyway to think much about you). Even if they do think a little about you, doesn't take long until they go back to their "pre-scheduled" process of thinking about themselves.

"Hello, 104 directory information."
"Uh, no."
Glad to see representation of people terrible with phone calls.
Glad you put these up! I fell asleep last night but woke up to you mashing the highway with your truck. "Dang! The dreamcast was ahead of its time."

I'm so glad you did this because this is awesome, and you are awesome, and thank you for all of the awesomeness you provide us with.
Especially since you bought merchandise.
26:26 Lucky for him, they did remaster Shenmue 1 and 2.
I wish that punching game at the arcade was real. I would love to play that.
There are arcade games very similar, such as the kung fu panda arcade game (which is surprisingly good)
Came for shemune stay for everything
