honestly, jang hanseo has never been more pitiful to me due to the most recent eps.
this mf has been tortured by his brother his entire life. he started using drugs as a coping mechanism when he was still young. he lives every day terrified hanseok will kill him. he gets abused daily, has no friends or family to rely on, no way out. his best option is to end up in prison for life for his brother’s crimes.
you can’t help but root/feel for him. yes, he’s flawed, entitled, lacks empathy and he’s rude but i personally can’t hold that against him. he’s so deeply traumatized and i feel like he just needs a proper support system to mature and become a better person. my biggest hope is that he can stay alive, form a bond with the geumga plaza gang and start living a normal life where he’s safe :(
also i wanted to say more at 11:49 like just think how many times hanseok lashed out like that, how often he was terrified of what would happen and had to be on high alert? how long did it take him to develop those reflexes? how many times was he injured before he could?
i want to get this man therapy immediately and i will personally fight the writers if he doesnt make it to the end

His character was kind of more inventive and sneaky, rather than book type of smart. I already thought of the tracker in the watch during the scene, when Hanseok gave it to his brother as a present, so I was super stoked when Hanseo revealed his suspense.
To me, Hanseo's character seemed this scared little brother, who's been controlled all his life, full of trauma, so he's always thought of ways to get out of danger.
I dont think he is dumb, he was abused mentally and physically and had no space to grow as an individual. After watching Vincenzo I have respect for him, this poor character did his best.
Actually he was secretly smart...remember when he kept the tracker in his brother's watch, made vincenzo shoot him to not to look suspicious

for me kwak dong yeon acted his role beautifully. we knew he was scared so bad. it was like part of his personality. you can see his fear from his gestures, words and eyes. even when he acted stupid aka funny, i can feel his fears.
then through his acting, i can feel and see how scary and terrifying jang jun woo is. i think, without his acting, i won't know how actually scary jang jun woo. like okay i know jang jun woo scary but he wouldn't scared me at all. for me, kwak dong yeon act put more depth (and impact? empression?) of jang jun woo.
and what i like is, through his fears, they made jang han seo his own arc, they develop his character. which i want to see how he will end up later.
I became kwak dong yeon's fan after seeing how well he acts in Vincenzo. Planning to watch other dramas he stars in too 🥺❤

Like you said, Dong Yeon helped make up for Taecyon’s acting. I understand this was a different evil role that Taec has never played before but he was not convincing. I was more intrigued at the fleeting psycho darkness that Hanseo displayed throughout the drama
His character is so pure. Like a child that's left with no choice because he is treated as a child than an adult with his own freedom, perspective and life. He yearns for love and friendship, so when he made a relationship with Vin-hyung, he was just so SOFT. He's so precious. He doesn't deserve the abuse from his brother. He's not evil either. Just a person with no choice. PROTEECT HIIM GOSHHH IM GONNA CHOKE SOMEONE IF HE'S KILLED
Uhh.. he dies. But the worst part is that he gets almost no recognition or appreciation after he does. Right in the next scene Vincenzo and Hong cha young discuss Vincenzo's guilt for cha young getting shot - completely disregarding the fact that han seo literally just died in the previot scene for them. Pathetic.

Conclusion: Kwak Dongyeon is abused by his family in every drama he’s in.

Babo keeps getting under my skin with the recent episodes, he've gone too far, so cruel. While Han-seo here keeps getting my attention, his reaction was the best whenever Vincenzo pulls a prank on their side. Kwak Dong-yeon is such a great actor, he made me cry when he made an appearance in It's Okay Not To Be Okay. Ughhh, can't wait for the next ep! I should've waited for this drama to be completed first so I wouldn't suffer like this! 😭🤧🥰

Honestly I'm so disappointed that he died. Going into the end of Vincenzo Han-seo became one of my favorite characters of the show, and how I could somehow relate to him y'know how he was picky when it came to his food. His death was a sad one but also saved Cassano in the process. When I think of this show I auto think of Han-seo :(

I agree with your comment in the description. I think this character is Highly flawed, but it’s understandable that he is the way he is do to his upbringing, his trauma, and the lack of support he has received. I too hope that this character finds the help he needs to help him become a better person and also to heal all his traumas. It could be such a great character development and evolution, showing how under the correct setting, support, and right influence we can become better versions of ourselves.
Yeah and there is no point for him to try and get “smart” since he’s been living in fear of his brother his whole life. I don’t know how I’m going to survive with only 2 episodes left of the season.
Toward the end where he had a drink with Vincenzo where he called him brother, I think he's on the way to becoming a more confident person. You can see this at the part where they arrested his brother and he dared to challenge him too. I actually think the actor did a great job and has the most character out of all the other supporting casts.

Hanseo deep down is quite compassionate. He wanted the lawyers to pay (what ever amount) for the victims of his brother's crimes and he hates when his brother hurts or kill innocent people. He himself is too pure for this world. He better have a happy ending or I'm going to riot!
why are his characters always like this, himbo, rich son, funny guy, bubbly with a sad background/story etc. The only time I saw him serious was in Love in the Moonlight lolol but im glad he's gaining more recognition now, it feels like he's been in the industry for that long that people think he's old while people his age are still in college or just graduated lolol. When he started to side with Vincenzo, he got clever, he really did wish he had a brother like Vincenzo as he treated him like one.. I was so sad when he died.. I cried for days. When he finally was almost there and free from the monster brother of his. His character improvement was great.. instead of hiding and being scared of his abuser, he faced him and outsmarted him.. When Vincenzo said "Say sorry to your little brother", I effing cried again, lol.

Kwak Dong Yeon is a great actor. He was awesome in My Strange Hero as well, his character was similar, a kind himbo born to a corrupt mother. The makers showed him as a villain though his mother was completely responsible. And actress Kim Yeo-jin who played Choi Meunghui in Vincenzo was his mother in My Strange Hero.
