One thing I dislike about this video is how it paints Chara as evil when there’s slot of evidence that they were just a stupid kid trying to help. i’d recommend watching “Who Is the True Villian of Undertail” it’s really good and goes into more details than this video did
i hate how people only view chara as entirely evil, or entirely innocent. it completely undermines their character. they are VERY morally grey. that video does a whole lot of skipping skipping over text evidence out of bias, and using their own opinions and beliefs. the entire “children can’t be evil!!!” debate is stupid when it comes to a fictional character in a video game
lets just ignore chara uses asriel's body to murder and deceive him. if they really wanted to "help" they would've chosen asgore since their goals would've aligned far better. it was a clear cut attempt at genocide of humanity, and they used asriels body in hopes of being able to overpower it to do so. its even stated that chara used an excuse of "i want to see the flowers in my home town".
@@someGuy-kl7cb I don't think asgore would be chill with the entire genocide of humanity, and to say chara "murdered and deceived Asriel" is a bit of an over exaggeration, would ya say? The goal of chara was simple: die so that Asriel could gather 6 other souls and free the monsters, if it came to it, yeah, chara might genocide humanity, but to assume that their entire plan was to kill humanity is frankly idiotic
@@someGuy-kl7cb Chara was 100% upfront with the plan when speaking to Asriel. Asriel was fully aware that the plan was to collect 6 more souls, then break the barrier. Chara didn't even know that control over Asriel's body would be split until their soul had been absorbed. PLEASE rewatch the videotapes stored in the True Lab. Changing the story to "oh, Chara deceived Asriel to steal his body and kill all humans (and DEFINITELY not just people from their village, who are quite strongly implied to have done some VERY unpleasant things to Chara, enough for them to attempt [youtube-friendly censor: "bungee jumping without a cord"])!!!!!!" is objectively incorrect. Toby Fox thinks Chara is a good child who loves cats, and Temmie thinks Chara is chill. You can argue with them if you still disagree.
Although you should bear in mind that a lot of it is just theories and it’s been forever since I’ve seen it, if I remember correctly they made some really good and interesting points :)
Even if you now know the Pacifist storyline, I still highly recommend playing the game yourself, if you get the chance. It’s not super long (I’ve gotten through the pacifist track in about 6 hours before, and I’m definitely not a speed runner, so it might be closer to 7-8 hours for someone new to the game?) and it’s truly a unique experience. 😊 You can learn about the story and the characters in summary form like this, but experiencing the endearing humor of the game, interacting with the lovable characters yourself, finding all the fun little secrets and Easter eggs, etc. is what makes the game really come to life! I’ve cried at the ending multiple times, because of how attached I get to this world and the characters in it. Plus, the soundtrack is fantastic all the way through. ☺️❤
If you want a lot of Undertale information, you should really watch "what the internet did to undertale." It goes through a lot of what we did to it. And how big and weird the fans are.
I love that you can react to everything and be interested in it, and not afraid to say incorrect things about it (like the year its from Undertale, Toby Fox put its effort to get the nostalgia of that era after all) I will really love to watch you react the video of +40min long that you talked about Great content!
I personally would suggest watching what the internet did to undertale because it's the best video to learn about undertale I do understand that it's long though.
PLEASE WATCH “what the internet did to undertale” by Super Eyepatch Wolf and “how undertale does evil right” by Spaceman Scott DUDE PLEASE I BEGGGGGG😭😭😭😭
The entirety of what he said about Chara was wrong Chara doesn’t actually have a canon name Chara jumped into the underground as a failed self unalivement Chara mistook cups of butter for buttercups Chara poisoned themself so Asriel could pass the barrier and gain enough souls to break the barrier Chara was genuinely kind and never a villian
Hey, Borderlands came out like way before this game did. I'm 28, and this game came out when I was in high school. Borderlands 2 came out when I was in high school. At about 5:10 in the vid, you said undertale came out before borderlands. This game may look old, but it's the chosen art style by the devolper/s.
I really recommend undertale it became one of my top 5 games really fast and it has some pretty unique stuff like how it can break the forth wall and that some stuff implies that the player basically is a cannon entity within the world and that the saves and load's are apart of the game as a cannon power so basically when you die and you get a game over and you load back at your last save point it basically means you're turning back time to try again
This timeline technically has most things on the correct order, but the explanation of the events is bias and talks abaut unoroven theorys whit no conclusive evidence and evidence againstem as if they were facts. Don't trust the hows and why it explains as they are not correct
we should note that frisk does not actually have the ability to SAVE. the red soul (the little red heart you see in some images) does, but that isn't frisk. it's actually a secret entity known only as "the anomaly". the anomaly is referenced by sans to be some incredibly powerful outside force, capable of jumping across timelines, resetting the universe at will and even ending all timelines permanently. flowey (in true pacifist, after the credits) and the echo of chara (who appears at the end of the no mercy route) are the only characters who directly address the anomaly, pointing out to it that, while powerful, it's control isn't absolute and that it is the true threat to the peace of the world. the anomaly is the player. it's you. this is made much clearer in deltarune, the (sort of) sequel to undertale. in deltarune, the player character, kris, actively fights the control of the anomaly and will periodically rip the red soul from their body, then go act on their own. in those moments, it becomes clear that you are controlling the red soul, the anomalous soul capable of saving, loading and resetting, not the human host.
Okay, i gotta admit, as a woman, that women joke actually made me bark out a laugh that one was good😂 Edit: alright i love how youtube placed this comment on your video when it was supposed to go on one from nux so it makes 0 sense in the context of this vid yet I still got a heart, haha. Love your content too, though, man! Awesome reaction as always~ Keep it up(uωu 人)💕💕
If you don’t plan to play undertale, a video that would be neat to react to would be “what the internet did to undertale”
That’s the long video I was talking about in my video.
You can do that, but then I would check out a video about Dr. Gaster. He’s an involved mystery in the game.
@whatitdodave but that video also talks about the community and has a really good ending really recommend or maybe chop it into 2 reactions?
YES PLS WATCH IT I WANT TO SEE THAT
@@whatitdodave it's a very high quality video rhat you'd enjoy
Chara was an traumatized child not a heartless villian same for Flowey/Asriel. They both just pulled the shorter straw.
One thing I dislike about this video is how it paints Chara as evil when there’s slot of evidence that they were just a stupid kid trying to help. i’d recommend watching “Who Is the True Villian of Undertail” it’s really good and goes into more details than this video did
