You need to tell him about the race track package, before he start blowing his ball bags and is left somewhere down the track with egg on his face..

    I am going with the verticooler and building my WRX for pure bottom and mids. high end power is overrated unless you are always on a track. When I built my G35 I went for top end performance and mid to high rpm was great, but nothing below 3500. which is generally the DD operation range.

    Everyone saying that this setup isn't running enough power to justify a billet block..I have a friend who runs that same Garrett turbo in his STI and it made 480 on the dyno.. thats still a TON of power but yet, still comfortable to daily drive. Sure its a little tame for how far you could push this engine but it won't be slow by any means, and rotated kit can always come later if you feel like making a monster of a car.

    • @denzilhitaua7739

      Most are shooting for 7 - 800whp on the my15 sti, this billet block build should start there, and progress to destruction mode, where we could all learn to make better decisions on how to improve our daily commute in every ?or any destination that we choose, track, work, school what ever. You can turn it down in public and dad can turn it up at the race track, knowing he and his best mate gave it a good go yeh or nah

      @grecoconduris6716 7 років тому

      Ben Vos Hi Ben, whilst I agree with this particular build and Perhaps WRXs in general a cop may not pick it up. Having said that about 10 years ago a mate of mine had a shop build a GTi-R for him. You name it, it had it. Large aftermarket turbo, Jun stroker, FMIC, power FC, injectors, PPG box etc. I have no idea what it cost, but must of been close to 50k with car, parts, labour and tuning. On something like it's 2nd outing got pulled over by the cops, EPA and put off the road. Now that's a bad story as it is, but it gets worse. He pays to get it put back to standard, gets it back on the road, then pays for all the mods to be put back on. Couple weeks later pinged again. It nearly broke him. He landed just getting rid of it after that. So whilst he might be extremely unlucky. It worry me my hard earned could be just thrown away like that.

      Greco Conduris wow, that is shit for luck.

I rode sports bikes for a long time and now I have a Harley. So I have to disagree with you that they are POS. I love riding my bike. Even more than driving my cars. I'm not sure if you ride, but there is something next level about riding bikes that cars can't even come close to matching. And only riders know it.

    Are you the guys that actually held information hostage pertaining to oil passage blockage and restriction i.e. factory oil screens causing issues and failure of turbos and more? Before it became common knowledge I swear I resourced this subject for 40 hours over the course of 2 years. Finally bought a brand new ihi genuine subaru turbo in box. Installed it and spun the bearing immediately. 1400 dollars. I'd that was you guys who put out a video years ago going into detail listing the symptoms but at the end of the video making a statement to the effect of we know why this happens but we're keeping that bit of information as our own trade secret. So bring your car to us or better luck next life.. hopefully that was another shop.

    • @fredramsey8965
      @fredramsey8965 4 роки тому

      If compression is good fix all your leaks first. Replace all your fluids and do your timing belt, water pump, idlers/tensioner, and spark plugs.Sounds like you need to reseal your turbo, look up some how tos for that or replace your turbo with a used wrx one (or another cheap option). Make sure and check the turbo inlet hose, they crack and fail on 2002 subarus let alone one that's 10 years older. If your fluids are new, you're getting good spark, and there aren't any leaks in your turbo system your car should be doing pretty well.
