    Much is made about his Vatican financial reforms. BUT it was frustrated at every turn. Several accountants, bankers or auditors who were brought in resigned or were asked to leave. None of the financial reforms have Stuck or been successfully implemented for long lasting improvement.

    This clearly indicates the dangerous state of the legal justice system in Victoria. The charges against George Pell was thrown out of the court in 7 to zero agreement of high court judges. All of George Pell's appeals were turned down in Victoria appeal courts. All the charges against Pell was fabricated by victoria police in the name of a historic cultural war or as retribution for alleged lack of empathy by Cardinal Pell or the alleged protection he had given to pedophile priests in 1970's by not bringing them into justice. This whole case displays a dangerous systemic trend in victorian legal justice system to make a mockery out of any legal justice system in general. 20 something charges against George Pell where not even one could stand the scrutiny of high court clearly displays how dangerous the situation in victoria is. I suspect there is a very long history to this. Perhaps goes back to early colonial days.
    Just imagine that being able to fabricate charges against an accused in order take revenge against a person for what that person has done in the past(be it immoral or illegal) shows a very dangerous precedence of a dangerous system. This is the case even if Cardinal Pell is guilty of alleged accusations against him on protecting pedophile priests in the past &/or not showing enough empathy for the victims. This is the most horrendous miscarriage of justice I've witnessed in Australia in recent years.

      should there be action taken against those who fabricated the charges? I’d think there should be, against all involved in any way

    • @ddandrews6472
      @ddandrews6472 2 роки тому +1

      @@MrKurmann That means taking action against a corrupt legal justice system. George Pell need to initiate that. Perhaps that will help him to recover cost of his appeal as well. You're looking at institutionalized criminal corruption within the legal justice system. Two of the judges appointed for George Pell's county court appeal were judges that had no
      criminal judgement experience but financial litigation experience. The defected judge was from criminal justice background, hence the reason he voted in Pell's favor. The appointment of inexperienced and unsuitable judges for an appeal was no accident. I see this as a dangerous trend. But, if you know the history of the colony, this is not all that unusual. Some of the old habits and system are still continuing.
      You need to ask George Pell whether he is onto punishing the punishers.
      Hatred toward George Pell is driven by politics and cultural wars than justice. It is up to George Pell if he wants to take on his haters. Punishing people of sick minds who exploit the judiciary for political and cultural advantage is a good idea. But, the victims of such injustice need to stand up for themselves.
      I am not in the camp of George Pell or his haters or anybody. I am in the 'camp' where we emphasize the misuse of legal justice system to serve personal and cultural wars through organized, fabricated evidence and stories. We are suppose live in a secular system, which employs the separation of state(which includes judiciary) from religion. George Pell's case violates that openly. It was exploited by a culturally different group hiding behind the victims of child abuse.
      Again, this a dangerous trend. A precursor to more chaos to come. A sign of western society's ability to organize itself efficiently has turned into a hopeless culture war within the judiciary(in this case). Pell is just the tip of the iceberg. However, icebergs occasionally tend to roll over due to imbalance and expose the bottom side of it.

      You might be right. IDK. He looks and acts guilty based on what I know of body language and psychopathy. If he is a pedophile, he will probably strike again when the situation is too tempting. So many are, even if he is not. Pope Francis was given the Herculean job of cleaning the stables, but he balked. He instead pretended to be just another bloke, taking the bus. Nothing special, really? Only a position of holy and sublime responsibility, even "vicar of Christ" they would say.

      Read my two comments above. He brought disgrace to the Vatican and to Australia. He was Australia's most shameful cleric. The hierarchy there hyped him meaning they do even less. The evidence was enough and the charges stuck. He is convicted of a criminal offense. But in all his EWTN interviews we cannot comment. They have been turned off. I wonder why EWTN gives him the oxygen of publicity. He is not the only cardinal who died? Other cardinals died and they were not heard off again. Why does the Vatican treat a criminal with high esteem. I would have said no Vatican service and shipped the coffin to Australia telling the good people of Australia to do as they wish.

      I don't believe he has asked...yet. The Daniel Andrews government are very anti Christian bigots. Andrews is like Biden. Pell's legal costs were around 3 million dollars. The process was the punishment along with the debt. Its now a jailable offence in Victoria for anyone even outside the state to pray for a homosexual to change. I defended him in the ATO because the public service said to staff they would provide support for the Pell trial distressed staff...meaning inducing a sense of victimhood. I know Pell and have served in the cathedral for him. The accusations and trial were worthy of the NAZI show trials. It's an example of things to come.

    The sexual abuse issue is not just of those below 18. In Australia it includes seminarians and those over 18. It mirrors society and clergy are like a canary in the mine. It flows from abuses in moral theology, theological studies, the sacraments and liturgy. The clergy lack identity and discipline. The confusion causes anxiety and many priests and laity look for vices to anathesthatise themselves.

    The Australian ABC TV ( Australian Broadcasting Commission) which is a government owned broadcaster, plus the The Melbourne Age & Sydney Morning Herald newspapers pursued Pell like bloodhounds bringing up news pieces and stories around alleged activities that rarely had any foundation. They fed off anger from disillusioned Catholics. I am an Anglican who was 100% suspicious of how a fellow Christian was being treated. All of us who smelt a rat were RIGHT!
    I do not believe he could have had a fair trial in the State of Victoria with a Labor Premier voicing views publicly on the aforementioned left leaning ABC. The jury had to have been influenced / corrupted!
    Thankfully The High Court of Australia 7 to none voted unanimously that he was innocent.
