Yeah it absolutely goes to the heart of the issue. I also the Mandukya is just as important philosophically although it naturally follows on from this sukta.
MY HUMBLE OPINION. THIS SUKTA ENLIGHTENS US THAT WE DO NOT KNOW ORIGINS OF THE UNIVERSE AND ALSO THE GODS. THEN HOW COME WE ARE SURE ABOUT ORIGINS OF DALITS.

Firstly chanting shrutis or suktams are not limited to being in a particular religion. If u can understand the language the deeper philosophical meaning then you can chant them. Secondly ramakrishna mission , Swami Vivekananda and aryasamaj they all always supported the knowledge of Vedas. They believed that sanatanism or Hinduism's basic and real knowledge is in the Vedas. They didn't supported the modern ideology of divisions, but they believed in existence of the supreme energy. Most of the shlokas or mantra which you or anyone has been chanting during prayers are from different Vedas. And additional information is every ved has its own category/subject, so the chants written in them are also according to it. You can google this for further knowledge. Namaste 😊
