Tim- You should check out the Rockwell safety application techniques for this device to use for teaching. They are pre-engineered and usable as a valid safety solution and they explain the full circle of functional safety design in each one. Great video! Thanks!
Hey Tim, great video, do you do any AutoCAD Electrical drawings? I'm an intern and I would love to see a guide for these types of safety relays in an electrical drawing as well.
Is it possible to swap the old ( MSR127RP ) with the cr30 using the existing wiring ? With the series A safeties being discontinued and series B not able to work with the old relay, I need to start looking at replacing the old relay. I tried the recommended using 2 10k resistors from the input side to 24v common, but that only worked a few times and I had to go back to using the old safety.
The CR30s are very versatile and can cover most safety relay applications but for a safety system, I always recommend consulting a Functional Safety Engineer. There is too much risk in incorrectly altering a safety system.
Thanks Tim ! I am actually working with someone who was able to use an Eaton relay that worked for a day, but of course it didn't work the next. So I spent an hour wiring in the old relay and sensor. Just what I need at 5am and management asking how long till its fixed ? Fun days 😄🤔 I think my next move is to talk to the machine manufacture and see if they are using the cr30 on new machines and if they have a wiring diagram and program.
@@cdesalme Interesting, works for 1 day and not the next? I don't know much about the Eaton relay but with the CR30, if you don't go through the verification steps then it will stop working after 24 hours. Then you have to cycle power again. Just a thought.
Its crazy but 1 day and done. Tried to cycle power off, it would go through its cycle turn green for a second or two then back to flashing red. Biggest problem with adding the cr30 is room constraint. I think I have to get the shoehorn out and stretch the cabinet.
Some of my projects will have 8 heads, 8 flow meters, 12 sensors or more, 15 solenoid's, etc.. Great video. Thank you for the infor. Always learning.

Thanks for the tip Steven! I plan on going through several of them.
Can you share a link to these techniques please?
thanks for your videos ,but I couldn't find wiring diagram link that you told us about ?! so I continued with you as blind!
You are right, looks like it has gone missing. Let me do some hunting and get it fixed.
I cannot find the wiring diagrams in the link below. Why not have the links in the description here ?
Here is a link to all of our drawings.

Hi Tim, great Video. Could you please share the wiring diagram of this particular example?
You can find all of our wiring examples at the following link.

Hi Andrew, glad you like the video. We are working on some ideas for electrical drawing software videos.

Love the videos Tim
A lot of useful information. Keep up the good work ! 👍

christ on a bike, what's your postal address so I can send you a pair of wire cutters?
Here's my wire cutters, what's wrong with them or did I miss something?
