- In this video I explain how to draw and analyze the cost curves. Most teacher sad professors focus on the per unit cost curves. That included marginal cost, average total cost, average variable costs, and the average fixed cost. Each have a specific shape. I sometimes reduce the speed of videos from the video settings, I find that that helps sometimes.

I don't understand why ATC and AVC hit the MC at their minimum points. Could you please clarify?
The MC (extra cost for each unit) "weighs down" the ACs whenever it is below the ACs, and similarly "brings up" the Acs when it is above the ACs. Since the MC curve goes down then up, it will bring the AC curves down as it goes down, then pull them back up as it starts to increase. This means the AC curves will hit their lowest (stop decreasing and start increasing) when it is equal to the MC.

Do these curves drop and then go up because of economies of scale? I know economies of scale are tied to Long-Run Cost Curves. How do you tell a SRAC from a LRAC just by looking at it?
If you apply the theory of scale here then your curve should go only down. There is another problem: the guy made the variable cost for output of 6 too big. If you make variable costs proportionate then you do not get a u-shape curve.

Why do ATC and MC intersect when ATC is at a minimum? I get that MC pulls ATC up when it is above ATC and down when it is below ATC, but what if the decrease in ATC due caused by AFC decreasing as quantity rises pull ATC down more than MC pulls ATC up?

Watching these videos have a very, very low opportunity cost (I am giving up something, that is, school lectures, which are not as valuable for AP Micro compared to these videos, so I am giving up something at a low cost, so me watching this has a low opportunity cost that I am forgoing) (I listen to school lectures, but just saying, these are better because thought and practice is put into constructing concise and effective instruction in the form of videos)
