The first car in the row was the BTTF time machine, and the car that you were driving was KITT from Knight Rider - it transformed when you were boosting, because it was entering 'super pursuit' mode...
you should try out Full Auto 2: Battlelines on RPCS3. after playing pretty much every racing game from the past 20 years, I can confidently say Full Auto 2 is the first arcade racer i've played that is utterly perfect in every way. bar none.
Burnout 3 is the best burnout game, without a doubt. For me burnout 3 and nfs underground 1 are the best racing games of all time. Their atmosphere is unmatched until this day.

Racing games that use real cars will always be inferior to Burnout when it comes to chaos because manufacturers don't want to see their cars being smashed up. If there's no signs of a new Burnout being made yet then I'm still at least feeling hopeful with the upcoming Wreckfest 2 and possibly GTA6 to satisfy my cravings for proper vehicular action in the future 💥 Burnout 3, Revenge and Paradise I love them all equally, I can't pick one.
