Barbara Cook has no peer....This rendition is, as are most of hers....stunning... wrenching. .Simply perfection of voice and interpretation. How I miss her grequent appearances on PBS....and concerts. Thank you for posting this.
My Dear Barbara, I was honored to have heard you perform twice at The Kennedy Center and once at the Cafe Carlyle! Each time, your enchanting angelic voice brought such incomparable joy from my ears to my heart. I never wanted your show to end. I have heard you sing this song, Stars, and it sends me to heaven where you are now singing among the stars, joining all the angles in pleasing the God who gave so such a special gift. God will say to you, dearest Barbara, “Well one good and faithful servant.” Come and sing for me and The heavenly court. We certainly miss you, but we have all these special recordings of your uniquely sensational voice!
l heard her sing this at The Fan Club in Boston in the winter of 1978. Breathtaking then and now. I loved Barbara from the night l saw "She Loves Me" when l was 12. There was nobody even close. RIP.
Mesmerizing and breathtakingly beautiful! Every song that came out of her mouth was sheer perfection! Barbara Cook thank you for all the songs you've shared with the world. RIP...
I found this song through my love of Barbara's singing. After listening to the composer's version, I feel Barbara's interpretation touches me most deeply...and of course, her magnificent voice! Sheer eloquence!!!

RIP.
She really was "the girl with something extra!"
Perhaps Barbara's very best delivery. R.I.P. Ms. Cook.
A magnificent talent who had it all, lost it, and gained so much more when she found herself again. What a song and what a performance.
Rest in peace and beauty Barbara Cook!
One of my favorite songs that Barbara sang. Her voice was simply incredible.

Is this song on any of Barbara Cook's albums? I would love to purchase it..... Her voice is perfection!!!!
I believe it's on "As of Today."
I thought you would enjoy this. A letter follows soon
My favourite JANIS IAN song! Barbara does it justice. Thanks!
(Janis does it better.)
Janis does it a bit differently, not better or worse. Not everything is a competition show on TCM.
@@frankiebowie6174 There are no competition shows on TCM. Duh!
My opinion is my opinion. Keep yours to yourself.

Whatever, I don’t sit in front of the TV all day.
