It is a lute, popular instrument until 18th century, the golden age was on 16th and 17th century. The instrument had a revival and they are now built again especially to perform old music in
authentic way.
The guy who plays the intro with the lute, Brandon Acker played and recorded in a metal band before moving to this area he is now known for.
Nini comes from Taiwan and plays metal with traditional Chinese instruments like Zhong Ruan, Liuqin, San Xian, and Pipa. And I suppose that they were in a movie. Some Mongolian, Chinese, Japan and Korean instruments for European and America people looks similar, but they differs in tune and playing technics.
It’s a lute, and I think this is a mixture of the sort of Spanish influence you get from classical guitar because many of the great composers were Spanish and written in that beautiful style, and also the baroque style that the lute is popular for.
Baroque is super cool; you can cheque out the second part to La Catedral for an awesome Baroque composition by one of those Spanish composers for the guitar, Augustin Barrios. Baroque is a period of classical music.
The Waltzy step of baroque kind of fits naturally with the Spanish folk sound.
Actually it’s one of the coolest mixtures ever; go listen to it right now!
You mentioned that you think Marcin is your favorite and that you get goosebumps when you listen to him. You should react to some of his videos. I recommend Master of Puppets / Carmen / Aerials. Whatever you choose, you will be pleasantly surprised! 😱😁🫠
Thank you very much 😄😄😄 27:54
It’s a theorbo. A 14 string lute. Rob scallon actually had the same person in this video teach him how to play it
That 1st instrament looks like a Lyre, a Medieval Guitar.
the first instrument is a LUTE a LYRE? Its got 50 strings man! And those who shred, practice 5-6 hours a day EVERY day so it becomes muscle memory ( a reflex)
it's a theorbo
@@Gargamoul2 Not to be that guy but this is called an Archlute, its very similar to a Theorbo but its more like a smaller brother of it.

Bruh there was not a single shamisen there….
It’s played with this huge plucking thing and she just had a regular sized pick.

Good guitarists. But their shredding doesn't come close to Paco de Lucia.
