i'm trying to get a game that is listed as playable on xemu but it's not playing - not sure if I'm missing something. I followed the steps and made the new xiso - but it still wouldn't load though xemu. Game is 'Grabbed by the Ghoulies'... not sure if I just don't have a good iso to begin with or what
Hello @Koutouhara, thanks for leaving a comment.. sorry this hasn't worked for you! Did you ensure you run Terminal/PowerShell as Administrator? There is a possibility there could be an issue with the original file you used?!.. so it may be worth obtaining another if that's possible? We'll check out our catalogue of games and see if we have this and give it a try!.. we will get back to you asap with an update!
After doing some tests, we think it could be your .iso! We definitely wouldn't recommend using Google to search for a Vimm and it's lair.. or the vault that is found on that page. We don't condone naughty downloads or wearing 3 pointed hats! But we can't control what you do or what you use the internet for!
@SlotItInThere HI! I figured it out! Another video by Denver Gamer talked about how Xemu specifically needed extra bios and HDD files that I didn't know about to function - I wasn't even getting the green Xbox start-screen before that, which was my biggest problem I think ^^; And when I then followed your tutorial the second time, with my fresh disc-copy iso, I did make sure I was in admin mode that time. I also had to copied the specific folder path for the folder part, cause the shorted version in the video didn't work for me and my files were on my D: drive, rather than C: After all that - I then loaded up the game - which didn't work immediately for some reason (I thought I messed up again); but last minute I hit the 'reset' button instead of the exit one just to see what would happen, and it worked! ^o^ I really thank you though, for even having this part of the puzzle and checking back with me! :)
We're sorry this didn't work for you.. a few questions though!... did you ensure you launched the PowerShell/terminal window as the administrator to convert the file? Did you get an error message in the PowerShell/Terminal window while converting? After you converted the file, when you placed it back into the game folder.. you select the game in the emulator, did you then reset it to boot the game? Sadly as yet, we have not had this fail for us!.. you could try a different version of the game? It could be an issue with the one you have?... can you advise which game you are having issue with and if you are Windows 10 or 11 and we can have a go to see if we get the same issue! Again, we're sorry this didn't work for you.
@@SlotItInThere The conversion seemed to be successful it just didn't make a difference in the emulator. I did reset it yes, didn't work. It could have been the version of the game. In the end I deleted the emulator. Maybe I'll try again some day.
Sorry this didn't work for you, what command are you running that isn't found? As it depends on if you're using Terminal (Windows 11) or If you're using Power shell.
If your are not using C:\ you will have to change the drive to the letter of the one you are using, this can be done by typing in; PowerShell/Terminal window cd d: Or in Command Prompt d: Once you are on the D:\ you should now be able to type in OG and hit Tab key twice for this to work. Alternatively, you can just type the folder path out manually.
Sadly we don't do the Mac side of things! But if the drag and drop method doesn't work on a Mac, you may have to go down the 'command line' manual inputting for this to work! There is a brilliant Mac tutorial on Reddit that you may find useful: www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/comments/sin4nu/how_to_convert_an_xbox_iso_to_xiso_and_apply_mods/ I'm sorry we can't help you out on this other than to investigate the link above?! But from reading the responses, this method works well for Mac users wanting to enjoy the brilliance of the Original Xbox!

When I drag and drop my .iso file on the extract-xsio.exe nothing happens. Any suggestions?
Im also on mac high sierra if that helps.
