@@chobaschobi4973As much as I dislike the Reiko we've got because of the Zoner Grappler playstyle, I do have to say that people seem happy with him returning as one. Grapplers *can* be fun if they're put in a proper enviroment, in this case, the Kameo fighter mechanics.
And whilst I'd rather leave grapplers for games like Street Fighter and Tekken, it can still be acceptable in Mortal Kombat and I'm glad people can enjoy it. Zoning in Mortal Kombat however...eh.
I found that delay wake-up is a solid way to avoid the Jax ground pound. Doesn't always work if they mix it up, but it's fairly consistent.
Loving Reiko rn. Honestly wish he had the damage some other characters have without the bar spend. Also tick throws would make him pretty sick.
There's a nice bnb combo that takes 1 bar for about 350, without the bar it's still around 300 using sonya cameo. I'll get the inputs if u want in a sec

Reiko feels good but also really trash at the same time.
Doing the Serena assist on block is crazy against Raiden. I haven’t watch it all yet but I hope he knows he can get a full combo punish.
yeah he’s one of the few so far who can punish him hard for that. didn’t realize until this set.

When you get locked in the corner by Jax ground slam, it usually means that your opponent is going to go for an air combo or kick followed by a ground combo after the Jax pop up. Which is what this Raiden was doing. My buddy plays with Jax a lot and said it can be countered by doing an uppercut on wake up. It'll sometimes hit both your opponent and his kameo. Doesn't always bit your opponent but almost always hits the kameo, which cancels the pop up. Tried it for myself and it does work as a solid counter.

Been practicing with reiko. Deff a skill issue on me trying to get some of his grabs to connect in a combo.

@@XxSYNDROISxX tic throws meaning string or button that on block links into command grab forcing the opponent to either let go of block, jump, etc. some sort of hard read. I know what you meant, and still saying they shouldn’t ever be a thing is lame.

Sareena assist is bs anyway
Jax does up to three ground pounds if none connect. You have to either hit him, jump, or trick your opponent into getting hit by it to avoid

They really need to bring his EX command grab down to one bar. Its needed to compete with most of the other cast damage wise.

Reptile can punish the Sarena assist blockstring with B3, Death Roll, or B3 into Death Roll
Yea , The top tier character can do 40 % dmg or higher with 1 meter and depending on kameos they can hit close to 50 ot do nasty set up
Thx for posting this I’ve been playing Reiko with Sareena and your gameplay gave me more ideas on how to play thank you again
So I finally get to play Reiko….. yeah he needs some buffs. Mostly to his frame data honestly
i know man i honestly have no idea what to poke with besides max range on his kicks, and even then some characters can punish them. I think some pushback on block or better frames on his ranged kicks would be sick but also super annoying tbh
His f1 should be 12 frames and it needs a range buff
@@l750z_6 I think he also needs a slight damage buff. Obviously not some crazy fucking damage buster, but something to where he can 3 touch people.
I think the best buff for him is, if you make his normals on hit recover faster, he could get crazy conversion. He wouldn’t even need the damage buff that much.
And one more buff he DESPERATELY needs. Make his run cancels faster recovery. I shouldn’t have to die for trying to save myself. Also if he is an up close monster, he should have something like this if you give him it. Cancel combos would be so dope….

Can you delay wake up to avoid jax setup or at least make them have to change timing on kameo call
I had a Reiko and jax player do that same unblockable setup. I stared delay waking up and it wasent an issue anymore. Idk if that is the correct counterplay tho

how do you feel about darrius assists? he can pretty much make all BnB's meterless

Imo they need to give us more ways of breaking combo strings, needing a full 3 bars to stop them is kinda annoying because they just mash when you have no bars and you just stuck in animations
I think they should have commited to the new reiko and remove the ninja stars in favor of another throw option like an air grab.
Yeah grapplers shouldn’t have projectiles and reiko has one of the best

About the jax ground pound, he can do it up to 3 times if he misses
All Grab fatal blows need a anti air and a range buff SEVERELY
Fatal blows need their armor GONE
Reiko grab anti air can be aimed upwards so it still catch the opponent in the air
@@sgt.zaitsev287They did that in the beta and for some reason changed it for the official game. It was perfect in the beta no idea why they made it scrubby again. It seems like sometimes it doesn't have armor if you catch them as soon as it starts but it's way too inconsistent. Really wish it just wasn't a thing at all.
I think a lot of reikos matchups are gonna come down to the fact that the other dude is gonna hit harder than you

@rewind you can punish sareena double boomerangs up close. Block the first 2 boomerangs then go to standing while boomerang on the way back and press 21 into ex db3! YW

I've been having issues with Raiden as well. I'm pretty trash so I'm having issues opening people up with Reiko and Havik. I think I need to utilize my assists better.
Just down 1 it’s simple but it’s the best way to take back your turn
@@bruisedavocado65 I think you missed the part where I said I'm trash. I don't have the skill to jail my pokes so by the time I register a successful poke I just get poked back while I attempt to capitalize on my poke.
This is why I typically play grapplers. I can poke and grab. I played Kollector in MK11, Bane in Injustice, Kano/Kotal in MKX. My biggest disappointment with the kast so far in MK1 is the lack of a big boy grappler. Hence the reason I'm on Havik and Reiko.
Fun fact : you kan literally break the game by combining Raiden + Montaro becuz Kintaro kan get out of the animations .
