This song almost made me cry. At the ending of the song it just sounds like Matt is reliving the pain he had when he wrote the song. 8:18 till the end is amazing. Epically done.
this part of your description is awesome: i can't get over this song. Its sung with gritted teeth. Its completely open and emotional. I just cant believe this album is for real. And its so real. Its so harsh and textured and completely out there. Theres no hiding, no sugar coating, no meanings being altered to make it rhyme. Thats whats so beautiful. The whole thing is scarred and rough.
This is amazing. I’ve only discovered MG fairly recently but I love absolutely everything he’s done. I’ve hardly listened to any other artist for 6 months. This song is so visceral, deep and raw. He is head and shoulders above most of the crap commercial rubbish that’s out there. I’ve run out of superlatives to describe his music and would give anything to see him live one day.
I cant get over this song. Its so angry and repressed. Without being whiney and wishful. Its..amazing. First Song on the CD, listen to it and All of a sudden you've fallen for it.
I saw him live for the first time in November. One of the BEST nights of my life. This video makes me want to relive that night So bad. Again and again and again and again.
Lyrics When Hollywood runs out of Indians When the bar stars melt and their golden hair turns into glass When Hollywood runs out of Indians When the bubble bursts and the first are come for by the last There's something in the way you move Makes me catch a cold There's something in your "too cool for school" When you slide up and down my pole There's something in the way you look That only casts a shadow When Hollywood runs out of Indians Only the Indians will know A kick in the head, pass it around Begging for a bed, pass it around Pass it around And I'd say what you'd say It makes me feel nothing There's a car waiting to take me to something At the end of my rope there's A new world, it's snowing The globe it starts shaking Is it me not worth knowing? The white coats are melting The snow down our mountains To process the rivers for hallways, and fountains And I'd say what you'd say But it makes me feel nothing Til there's a man waiting to take me to something That I'm for Hell It looks red in all it's pictures My sisters sing laments While their skin blisters (take your time, take your time, take your time) Halleluiahs Offered down on the floor Nobody goes above decks No, not no more They say the sun is still shining That you can feel it in your core But I ain't seen nobody move That weren't going for the door And I'd say what you'd say Champions of nothing But there's a car waiting to take me to something At the end of my rope There's a new world, it's glowing The globe it starts shaking Was it you not worth knowing? The white coats are melting The snow down our mountains To process the rivers for hallways, and fountains And I'd say what you'd say But it makes me feel nothing Til there's a man waiting to take me something That I'm for...
The lyrics of this song make me think of Canada's history with residential schools, and what colonization did to indigenous people. "When Hollywood runs out of Indians, only the Indians will know". Read all of the lyrics and you'll see what I am saying. The lyrics speak to the disemboweling of someone's soul against their will and of genocide.
Lying drunk in a ditch on sleeping pills, psych pills, and a bottle of tequilla after they took my kids, while the every weekend stripper clown show was going down that my ex Narc attended faithfully. The police took me out of the abulance and kicked the shit out of me until I almost died. Kick in the head, pass it around, begging for a bed passit around. They left me for dead in the drunk tank floor.
Finally hearing him on the radio again. glad he's back.

I was there that night. It was pure magic. Thanks for taking me back.
"... try again ..."
He is everything I ever wanted in music. He is so brilliant and underrated. This song awakens something inside me.

This song is like an opiate for me....how did he inhabit my head long enough to write these words without me knowing? 🤘

Every word out of his mouth is real, bleeding, collapsing, and fighting...
Damn you're depressed and dramatic. Sending hugs your way. lol
The opening gives me goosebumps
And I'd say, what you'd say, but it makes me feel nothin
Lyrics
When Hollywood runs out of Indians
When the bar stars melt and their golden hair turns into glass
When Hollywood runs out of Indians
When the bubble bursts and the first are come for by the last
There's something in the way you move
Makes me catch a cold
There's something in your "too cool for school"
When you slide up and down my pole
There's something in the way you look
That only casts a shadow
When Hollywood runs out of Indians
Only the Indians will know
A kick in the head, pass it around
Begging for a bed, pass it around
Pass it around
And I'd say what you'd say
It makes me feel nothing
There's a car waiting to take me to something
At the end of my rope there's
A new world, it's snowing
The globe it starts shaking
Is it me not worth knowing?
The white coats are melting
The snow down our mountains
To process the rivers for hallways, and fountains
And I'd say what you'd say
But it makes me feel nothing
Til there's a man waiting to take me to something
That I'm for
Hell
It looks red in all it's pictures
My sisters sing laments
While their skin blisters
(take your time, take your time, take your time)
Halleluiahs
Offered down on the floor
Nobody goes above decks
No, not no more
They say the sun is still shining
That you can feel it in your core
But I ain't seen nobody move
That weren't going for the door
And I'd say what you'd say
Champions of nothing
But there's a car waiting to take me to something
At the end of my rope
There's a new world, it's glowing
The globe it starts shaking
Was it you not worth knowing?
The white coats are melting
The snow down our mountains
To process the rivers for hallways, and fountains
And I'd say what you'd say
But it makes me feel nothing
Til there's a man waiting to take me something
That I'm for...
Absolutely fucking beautiful
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yessss... beautiful...
Cud nad Cudy.
