@@rollpandaroll The batteries do wear out (like any rechargeable battery) but the good thing about these is that they are standard aa or aaa batteries you can buy anywhere, not a special overpriced battery pack like many other scanners. You can set them to stay on all the time if you dont want to have to turn it on when you use it. Only real problems with these are a couple have had the charging port broken when people try to walk away with them still plugged into the charger.

Maybe it'll be for an upcoming video? :-) I tried doing a lot of research, but no one really shared a video about it other than reviews on the Google Playstore.

Usual deal - try turning everything off and on and click the forget device in the bluetooth settings in the ipad. After that try holding down both buttons on the scanner - should do three beeps and will reset everything in the scanner so you will need to scan the ios mode barcode for talking to an ipad. Then try and pair again.

Quick question, do you have to enter that products UPC code into shopify before hand in order for it to work?
Yes, the barcode needs to be added to the product in the barcode field, in your shopify admin
Do you have to connect this every time you want to use? can it not stay connected 24/7?
Yes it usually stays connected, but being bluetooth, sometimes it doesnt.

Far as I know the socket mobile is the only barcode scanner for shopify pos on an ipad. You can check the hardware page on shopify.com for updates.

No, only the socket mobile s700 series, or if you can find a used Socket Mobile 7ci barcode scanner
