Combine this with a robots mod and you could use these to establish an ice sheet base in comfort and safety and even a fallback base quickly. So say, a nasty infestation or a big raid destroys your base, you can fall back to a secondary location and continue the fight.

I'm actually using it just for that except not for the ice sheet. I use alpha biomes you see and there's a really awesome biome that contains of ONLY steel. But it's gonna be a ball ache to setup hydrophonics up there. Also BE CAREFULL when trying to bring gifts to factions. I thought dropping on one of their bases would make me give them gifts but that's not how that works apparently. Bring some pack animals with you because you HAVE to laod your cargo on them if you want to actually give gifts. sigh...
I've been using the Superpod, Skip, Albatross and The Cargoship. Superpod and Skip are great for transport between bases. The Albatross is great for raids and mining missions. And the Cargoship is great for doing global trade.
Love to see all the mod reviews as of recent! I love the SRTS mod use it all the time in my play throughs. It's worth noting that it makes travel quests incredibly easy.

I"ll also mention today there was an update that makes dropping at the edge of a map 99.99% stable on all ships! And a few texture fixes, especially for the world map. No errors anymore.
I haven't played with the mod yet, it looks absolutely incredible so I definitely will on my next playthrough. I have a quick question though, can you choose the landing tile on undiscovered maps? I ask because launching an offensive and landing in the middle of a pirate settlement could be quite the fuck up. Thanks for your awesome addition to the game!
@@goprev9715 Nope! That's part of the charm. You get to choose the edge of the center, just like drop pods do when they raid you. The AI can't pick a spot specifically, it randomly chooses the edge or the center. Enjoy!

Tip: If you choose to land your ship on the edge of the map, sometimes you'll lose your ship. You can fix that problem by using the character editor mod and put the ship model into a pawn's inventory and have them drop it.

how can i land the ships on empty tiles? For me it's just possible to land on tiles with friends or enemies. Otherwise i could establish a new base... but in the video it looked like i could land on every tile?

Any clue how to know what a hatching mod is and whether they interfere with a SRTS ships skyfaller stat? Having trouble having it move across the world map and looking around to see whether anyone knows fixes, etc.
I'm so confused, the steam workshop doesn't let me comment on mod page for some reason and i can't ask anyone except here, If i were to use SRTS Expanded with "steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2138497005" and also CE with SoS2 would they work together except the bombing ? because the SoS2 works with SRTS and partially with CE but Crimson Fleet says it doesn't work with CE and i don't know if its just the bombing or a literal crash...
I hade the same ? but found a way if you do the research for mortars it unlocks high-esplosive shell you can load them into the ship then when you land at the new map it unloads thats when you send your fighting guys in to atack leaving one behind to reload the shell into the ship not all of them if you wnat to make more then one run then target the booming run head of your atackers

@@daanm3869 another reason ice mountains is a superior location to setup as well as the performance from no foliage lol

Yeah, I'm using it in my current game. Only have the Skip right now, but it makes the game quite a bit more fun.

There's also a realism patch that makes the ships slightly more expensive to make, like 300 steel to 500 steel.

This mod had a huge update recently. The ships require their own custom components and rebalances all skips a bit.

True! Today there was an update, so I'm hoping the vast majority of those vanishing ship issues are gone.

You can only choose where to land on a generated map. If you've never been on a map you can only go to the edge or middle.
