Hi Sophie I vote to sell the smaller Chanels that don’t fit your stuff. I’ve reached the stage with my luxury collection that if a bag can’t fit my wallet, phone AND my reader glasses then the bag is going bye bye!
That would half my bags. I love mini’s 🤣
I would say NOT to sell your Chanel bags, especially the jumbo and the little white one. The jumbo is obviously sentimental, and if/when you feel comfortable wearing it out in public again, you'll be grateful to still have it and one in a size that will fit all your stuff. The white one is impractical in terms of size, but that would be lovely to have for weddings or garden parties and can be worn casually very easily with simple blue jeans, white top, and cardigan. It's versatile. Don't let it go.
100% sell up! If they don’t suit your lifestyle you’ll not regret popping it towards something like travel. Xx
Honestly, I would sell everything except for the classic flap. MAYBE I’d keep the other CHANEL bags until the resale market improves but those would get sold eventually. I prefer a decluttered space and liquid assets over having the items sitting around. Also, I like the idea that everything I look at/touch makes me happy and can be worn. And I think when you hold onto stuff you don’t like it can make it difficult to sort through the stuff you do enjoy. But that’s just my personal opinion.
If you know you won’t use them, you should probably sell them if you can detach the emotion tied to them. The money you make could go toward a really nice holiday. You can turn unused bags in to new memories. 💕

Ya Balenciaga is definitely OUT. I vote to sell the mini mint green Chanel from sure and sell the boy bag for sure. Try to get rid of the Balenciaga bag but if you cant’ get what you want for it, just keep it.
I bought a dark red balenciaga small city bag in chèvre. I’ll never sell it. I still use it occasionally. I’m lucky to have it because it’s so beautiful, the leather is more desirable than their lambskin and it’s one of my first luxury bags.
No Balenciaga for me. I sold everything I owned. I’m lucky, I have short hair so I can still use by Chanel Boy bag. Although, I don’t love it because it’s so heavy. Love your videos. I hope your heart is healing from the loss of your sweet, fluffy baby.

Lol I love that you credit the sales associate for getting you to buy. Personally, I would sell everything except the Jumbo and the David bag lol. It’s not just about getting your money back, it’s also about getting it out of your life and your space. I like to get rid of things that don’t serve me a purpose. I have a YSL camera bag (like the white one you have) that I don’t use, it’s my only designer bag but I keep it because it reminds me that I prefer to look but not buy. I’m at a stage in my life where financial security means more to me than purchasing a bag. And I’m scared that if I sell that YSL bag then I’ll have the itch to buy another designer bag. I can look at that bag now and be reminded of how little I’ve used it so why would I want or need another designer bag. I hope that makes sense.
I have it like that with a dupe of Bottega veneta mini Jodie bag. Dont want to feel like getting the real deal, rather have money in my bank.
I’d sell them all , except for the classic flap and the mini Chanel in white, if I had the latter , I’d find it hard to part with , it is so cute.
That Goyard story was hilarious! My rule of thumb is always to give them to a better home, hopefully to someone who can truly appreciate them. Keeping them around will just be a constant reminder for what you could've done for them. All the best!

If you know for certainty that you are never going to use the Balenciaga, then sell even if you make a loss. You are making a loss on the full price you paid for the bag if you are not using it. At least if you make some money, you can use that for something else and it becomes only a partial loss.

Love the white mini Chanel would never sell that one even though it's small and won't hold the nearest much. I think the Balencia should be sold and just listed at a price you would willing to let it go at or set a reserve price.
Any of the others. If you have any sentimental value for them I would just keep them also. I think the green mint chanel is the one that I would sell.

Agree with you about the Goyard. I just don't get the hype. It's a shame about Balenciaga. They hurt themselves and everyone who owns their products. I would hang on to all of your Chanel bags. They will continue to go up in value so yay you! Happy Holidays, Sophie!!

The Peppermint Green Square Chanel is soooo cute! Would die for that colour these days.
However, if it's not practical, there is not point in keeping it, no matter how much it makes you smile. Same can be applied for the White Chanel Mini top handle.
Keep the jumbo though, it's not that it's impractical, it's just that you are worried about using it due to the price increases. My friend was the same, took me forever to convince her to use her Hermes Mini Kelly because of the high resell value it has.
I also have a jumbo Chanel which I bought in 2008! I also dont wear it anymore because I dont want to ruin it because I wouldn’t spend that kind of money to ever replace it
Don't sell the Chanel jumbo!!! DO NOT. It's such a gorgeous bag and eventually you'll reach for it again (you can flip the bag when on the street, so no one sees the CC). . As far as Balenciaga, they need to oust the creative director and relaunch. It is a House with such a gorgeous history and the legacy of Cristobal Balenciaga deserves better.

So true! It was a great fashion house, Balenciaga was so great with his use of pink and the ruffles and wow factor...out of this world. He had such a sharp design sensibility, used drama so effectively. I love the history of the label. It got corrupted.

i wouldn't sell the jumbo, mainly for the cost to replace it if you regret selling it. the other small chanel bags, if you're not going to use it for a party or dinner, then i'd sell them.

Hi Sophie keep the Chanel classic flap for sure, and all the Chanel’s in my opinion. If you can sell the balienciaga for a good price then yes sell it. Their reputation is shot but there are still people willing to buy them. Sell the Goyard too.

Oh dear, i have the same issue with small bags. They dont fit all my stuff, but those chanel mini bags are so cute! I think i will sell one of them, but not both… the white one because white bags are so hard to maintain. Your haul are all so nice! I esp liked the trousers but everything is so nice!

I would sell the bags that don’t fit your stuff…mint green and white Chanel, plus the Goyard bag. I would list the Balanciaga bag and test the waters. You might get the price you want. You don’t have to sell it if the market is too low. Just my thoughts. I am a big believer in enjoying the stuff you love and sell what doesn’t suit you or your lifestyle. Have a great weekend 😘
If truly will not use it and not practical, sell it. Even if you get way less. It is a sunk cost, the money was spent long ago. It can still pay for a dinner or go towards something you value more.
I would sell the Balenciaga bag, boy bag and the Goyard bag. The Balenciaga bag is beautiful but if you feel you will never wear it, even if you get half of your money back, it’s still worth selling than sitting in the closet for years collecting dust

I'm so careful with bag strap details now, I am a wig wearer and I can't have my wig getting mangled in studs or snaggy chain straps, I don't need a balding wig as well as a balding head😂

Those are beautiful bags and I don't think the problems you complain about are ones you will be passing onto the buyers. I think they're personal preferences & nuances. Which we all have, should have, are blessed to have. What kind of world would it be if we all felt the same about art ?

I want a crossbody bag ( preferably Chanel ) that sits nicely but I think the smaller and bigger bags the chain is not long enough ? It can’t be too small it needs to fit keys / phone/ glasses / make up .. 🫶
Goyard just looks cheap to me, period. I was looking into it when I heard about Faure Le Page and I've never looked back. Excellent quality, colors, sizes, fantastic bags if you are looking for canvas/leather combos.

Sophie, I’m the same way with my classic Chanel bag! I rarely wear it because it has nearly doubled in price and there is so much theft happening here in California. It’s my special occasion bag and I only wear it when I know I’m somewhere safe and always keep it within arms reach.
I would not sell your jumbo, it’s a classic bag in a color that goes with everything. Keep it as a special occasion bag.
I think you should really listen to your feelings about your bags. Personally if a bag is uncomfortable (such as the boy) I would sell it. Perhaps the smaller chanels could be used if you go out? I personally like small bags, but I am annoyed although I love it a WOC from ysl it is too small to fit my phone but I simply adore it and use it so it stays. lol
I do see people out there still wearing Balenciaga. Most of those people are not in the know though. Not everyone follows fashion news. It really depends on the crowd.

This might not be a popular opinion but if you like the Balenciaga bag, don't want to wear it, can't sell it, i would take to a cobbler to see if they can make it into something else like a coin purse or card holder. Might not be worth the cost of labour but just a thought.
Also sale the boy bag and the Goyard and wait to get the one you originally wanted
Agree with you， I got the Balenciaga City bag classic Grey & GHW few years ago. I love it so much that time and used for many years. Now I don't use it for long time and wanna sell it. Even in very low price, I wanna get ride of it. I'm thinking to sell my Chanel minis too but it's too cute. I'm using bigger handbags.

I think you should sell the Balenciaga bag even if you do take a bit of a loss. Any money you get back is money you could use for travel or for something that you would use or that would bring you joy.
I still carry Balenciaga. Over the years there have been many scandals in the fashion industry including Chanel (Coco‘s collaboration with the Nazis). Let‘s not be hypocritical.
I dont buy any bag where my things dont fit, no matter how cute. I know ill end up regretting it.
Hi Sophie! I am contemplating the same thing with my Chanel square mini in lambskin. I got it in harrods 2020 and have literally used it 4 times and one of the corners is gone. I am extremely careful with my bags and I think it just rubbed against my coat! The quality is awful and I no longer want to use it.Currently I am trying to sell it in vestiare as I just don’t use it! Hoping to recoup all my money back as I haven’t made any good use from the bag ☹️
I guess I have no problem displaying my bags and not (mostly)using them... I have sold bags and regret it always,but then obtain "next in line"and toy with selling them as well- ultimately I know I sell w no remorse bc I never have bought the same one back into my collection -- perhaps it's just our impulse that seems to make us think we need it at all,so besides the Balenciaga which is dead to me, I think you should hold onto your Channels, they are so beautiful, and there will be more beauties to come no doubt ,so personally I've diversified into surrounding myself w crystals galore, they are made by nature and just brilliant to me. What’s the point of having a bag and actually not wanting to use it😅. Like that big chanel… I would understand if it was for sale as the price rises each year but having it and not enjoying/using it? Why? I mean you mentioned why you’re not reaching for it but I still wonder what’s the point of keeping it then? Jumbo is way too big to carry around for dinner anyway. Or like that green one. If it doesn’t suit you and your needs then you probably don’t need it. I don’t have as many bags but when I get them I want to use them even it that means they will have some signs of usage. I can’t imagine spending money on something I’m afraid to use…

I still use a big Balenciaga le dix motorcycle bag but no-one knows what it is. Bought it second hand 10 years ago but still love it and will continue to use it.
Crime is so bad in my city I’ll only carry my inexpensive bags if I go downtown. I’m happy I sold my Chanel flap. I don’t feel comfortable taking a chance with such an expensive bag any longer.
I don’t think anyone is buying or carrying Balenciaga anymore. They killed the brand for me and others.

I have sold both of my Chanel Boy bags. I love the look, but hated actually using it as a bag. I completely understand why you don’t use yours. I would sell if I were you. No sense in keeping a bag you don’t ever want to use.

Dear Sophie, I think it is best to let go of things U do not used, normally I would give away or sell my personal belongings if I've stopped using them more than 3years, that means you will not reach out for them, it is better to turn it into cash for other things instead of collecting dust n sometimes over time, bags gets oxidised n you cannot sell them anymore. 🤗Goodluck
Goyard no longer hand paints their bags fyi. They stopped in 2006. I use my Goyards ALL the time and I've never had a single issue with any of them
I have never had any of my Goyard bags "chip", however I have never liked the Saigon because the handle looks so random and out of place.

I’ve started selling off/ donating a ton of stuff that just doesn’t fit my lifestyle anymore. I’ve kept one pair of high heels but I now only wear flats and trainers. Same with bags- I use 1 on the daily and 1 for nights out- why do I need 10 others in a cupboard gathering dust? Honestly it’s freeing and the cash can be put to good use elsewhere
I have started to wear my favorite small bags crossbody and just carry a tote bag along with it. Who says you can’t wear two bags? I actually like having just my phone and wallet in a smaller bag or just phone and a few cards that I am getting in and out of frequently without having to wade through all the extra things I need to take out for the day. Then the tote holds my extra things that I am carrying but not needing constantly. Just a thought about how to get use out of all of these beautiful things that may not be getting the most use but could still be worn.

What do we think about battered bags style moment? I personally like to see the 'usage', 'history' of a an item being worn and loved, but there is this delicate line to look chic and effortless or simply scruffy and sloppy.
Hi Sophie, if you put clear tiny plastic hair tie in those strap knots, it will prevent your hair from being yanked. It worked for me, and the clear plastic hair ties are not noticeable.
Balenciaga is soooo out. I sold all of mine 60-70% off still it took a while to sell coz no one wants it. But the longer u wait the less money u will get back.

For those hating on the Chanel boy, I really don’t understand why!! You will definitely need a base shaper for the boy bag and it will keep the shape and makes the bag more spacious. For me, the boy bag is the best travel bag. It’s more spacious than the classic medium or mini bag. The caviar leather is thick and durable. The ruthenium hardware is scratch resistant. When I travel in Europe, I turn the bag around having the flap facing my body while carrying the bag crossbody. This way no pickpocket will be able to open the flap. The chain is metal and I don’t have to worry about pickpocket cutting the chain to take my bag. Also, I have really long hair over my waist. The strap never pulls my hair.
Hi Sophie, I'll definitely KEEP all the Chanels for now becos the way Chanel is going with their px increases and quality issues, you will probably get your money back in the future. Not to mention the mini rec handle is in white caviar it will surely fetch a lot of money in the future! The older lambskin are much higher quality than the ones now so the sq mini is a keeper too. And big bags are making a return im sure you wont regret keeping the jumbo!
I saw your other videos abt the Gucci sq marmont..imo it's expensive for what it is it but if it makes your heart sing and you know its going to get alot of use like your Lady Dior, then why not?!
