I’m not gonna lie I must be one of the lucky customers to buy from meepo because my board only took a week to ship and it’s still running great with no problem and I’ve had it for almost 9 months almost 2000miles on it. Love meepo❤

i bought the Meepo V3 from facebook marketplace and its great the person change it to a belt system and i had 4 days ridening on it without any problems, one day i was going down a hill and notice the board shecking a lot but i just kept going once i got to the lights i notice that the back tracks is off the board, the bolt that holds the axil wheels to the track just came off. Now i'm just selling the skateboard, i was lucky that did not happen going fast or down hill or even on the street.
just yesterday i have the same truck snapping issue on my voyager which i have had for 3 months and put 2200km on it i did also have issues with snapping belts at the start i snapped 6 sets of belts in 700km then i decided that was enough and bought eboardstuff lifetime belts and i put them on at 800 and they are still flawless, i have contacted meepo and have not heard anything back yet although i do live in Canada so there is the time zone difference
Oh that sucks. Sorry to hear your truck also broke. Yeah, the guys at eboardstuff are heroes!! They saved my Boosted recently. In fairness to Meepo they usually responded to me within about 24 hours cause of the time difference. I hope they sort you out and get you going again.
@@ronanhutchinson yea but as you mentioned idk if i can trust it anymore, also leading up the the snap there was no signs of anything wrong, no grinding or rattling sounds, no weird movement at high or low speed, nothing it just snapped when i hit a fairly small bump for my area
@@ronanhutchinson the only thing i can think of is when Meepo refreshed the voyager they may have slightly changed the truck design which they then used on the envy, my friend has the older gen voyager and he rides it harder than me and has more km and he has not had this issue, he also did not have the belt snapping issue
That’s very strange that there were no rattles or anything. I’d say there was some kind of a defect in the truck from the beginning. They may have changed the truck, or you might have just been really unlucky with yours. But I totally understand what you mean about not trusting it. My issue with Meepo wasn’t so much about the truck breaking, but that they didn’t care enough to investigate it after I said it. I only use my Boosted board now.
@@ronanhutchinson yea i think since I'm still under warranty if meepo doesn't want to replace it then I'm just got to sell it to my friend for parts and buy another board, and if they do replace it ill use it and if it then breaks again ill get rid of it. i love the voyager for it power and range but i cannot have it falling apart and causing danger to me and potentially other people as well
Hey very great video, I currently have a meepo v4s and have put over 1000 miles on it and also feel it is extremely reliable. Although what you have experienced does concern me. Do you think the trucks could fail in the same way?
Hey. Thanks for watching, I’m glad you liked the video. To be honest with you, I don’t know if it could happen on the V4S… I knew I had a problem with my Envy before the truck broke because it was making a terrible rattle when I was riding. Meepo claimed that was normal, but then the truck broke, so I’ve stopped using my Meepos. But if you’re not hearing any bad rattles from the trucks / motor assembly, hopefully you’ll be ok.
@@ronanhutchinson alright cool, I’ll definitely pay extra attention to everything now! I Appreciate the reply back and I hope to see more of your content in the future.
@funnyfish9360 yeah, I’d always recommend checking nuts and bearings are all ok every once in a while anyway. But definitely keep a good eye on it. Given you’ve already put a lot of miles on it already, hopefully you’ll be ok.
When I got into electric skateboards 2 years ago I did a lot of research before I bought my first board. There was something about Meepo that just told me they were the budget brand trying to break into the bigger side. At the time they had just started the Hurricane akd everything else offered was very lackluster on battery, power, and just overall form and finish. I am curious about that new racing board that just came out from Meepo with that new truck design...... But that has truly been the only board they have made that is grabbed my attention enough to want to research more about it outside of just what you see on the surface.
I remember when the hurricane came out, and shortly after there was a big noise about trucks breaking too. I’ve since become friends with someone who that happened to! I must check out their new racing board to see what it’s offering. I don’t know if an all new truck design is a good thing or a bad thing where Meepo is concerned 😅😅
*Sorry to hear of your experiences* 😪 Yikes with the motor/axle snap 😱 Your candour and transparency is appreciated 🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️🤙🏽 Hopefully the issues raised are addressed promptly. I've really enjoyed my Meepo Flow and so far touch wood no serious issues and I love it.
Thanks for watching. Yeah, I wish I didn’t have to make this video… but because I’ve reviewed these boards on my channel and recommended them. I think it’s important that people know what my experience has been. I hope you never have any issues with your Flow and you keep enjoying it. But that truck snap was scary, and they assured me it was safe. So that’s why I’m done. But I hope yours stays solid. Please wear protective gear though when you’re on it. Like, I’d recommend protective gear anyway, but that goes double for Meepo now! 😔
I attempted to purchase a board from them earlier in march and omg it was such an ordeal. For 2 months almost 3 I could not get them to be transparent about when it would be shipped out. They had canned responses and did not communicate at all unless I reached out, which resulted in me cancelling my order altogether. I think I definitely dodged a bullet. It sucks because Meepo is a staple in this industry and I was very excited to be able to own one. However its clear that customer service and quality has declined. I get that there are exceptions and lots of people have had great experiences. Lately though there are more negative experiences and lackluster quality and service seemed ro have emerged as the rule for Meepo. Im hoping to see them turn it around.
Same! I’d love to see them improve their quality. Both in terms of overall build quality with their products, and communication with customers. They had a reputation for very poor customer service a few years ago. Then things seemed to have improved. But now it appears as though they have gone backwards again. It’s a terrible shame, because I loved using Meepo when I had confidence in those boards
Ok I’m on my 2nd meepo board the first was the v3. I’ve had no problems with the v3. Have 1700 miles on it and it runs great but the battery is going dead quick. Only get about 5 miles out of it now. I ride the voyager now which is much faster and a good range on it. I also have trouble with the meeepo belt and I’m waiting on some off brand belt thinking they will be better. Only get about a week worth of riding with the meepo belt. I do double check them every time I ride to make sure there not to tight or to loose. I did have my front right tire actually blow off on me going down the road luckily I was slowing down and going around a curve was able to jump off and not get hurt in the wreck. Emailed me about the problem and never received a response even sent pictures. They didn’t even send me an extra belt or anything. Just never received the email back from them so the voyager will probably be the last board I buy from meepo.
@@ronanhutchinson trucks are ok .wheel just blew off. Craziest thing ever happen to me on a board. Have picture if you want to see them can’t seem to add them here or I just don’t know how.
I bought a meepo mini and one wheel motor keeps make a ticking noise and meepos customer service said "that noise is part of the board and safe to ride" I am currently trying to sell it because I don't feel safe on it. I wish they would be more honest about keeping us safe when we bring up a concern about their product.
Aw sorry to hear that! I totally understand how you feel. Once you lose that confidence in the board it’s hard to keep riding it. I agree completely with what you’re saying about their customer service saying the boards are safe. If they said “we need to investigate this and you need to send the board back to us” I’d be happier. Because then you’d feel like they’re actually trying to make sure their boards are safe.
Had my meepo mini 2 er for 3 years. Put hundreds of miles and it saw alot of wear and tear. Still have it to this day og esc and battery. Range is half of what it used to be but it still gets around 10 miles
Will you be changing board brands now Ronan (i know you picked up a Boosted board from previous videos) or seeking an alternative form of urban transport?
Hey Páidí 👋🏻 I‘ve been using an old boosted board since Christmas! I LOVE IT! But the battery needs a service, so I’ll be back to my scooter until I get that sorted 😭😭
Hey. Thanks for watching. I don’t have any experience with the Meepo flow. Anyone I know on YT or IG who has one seems to really like it. But personally, I’d look at the Evolve Stoke or the Loaded Onirique if that’s the kind of board you’re after
I'm completely new at Esk8 and was trying to decide between the V5 and paying a little more for a Wowgo 3E for my first board. I went with Wowgo and have had no issues after 200 miles so far. Glad I went with the belt drive Wowgo for my first board. Did you personally buy all 4 meepo boards or were they sent free for review? and if bought, why stay with a defective brand?
Glad to hear your WowGo hasn’t given any trouble. I bought the first board and the other three were sent for review. To be fair, the V4S they sent me never gave me any trouble, it just didn’t meet the advertised range at all. So I was happy to try out the V5 and the Envy. By the time it gave any issues I already had the envy and was using it. My initial impressions of all those boards was they were great. But over time I lost confidence in their reliability, and more crucially, their safety. Particularly on the more powerful ones. That’s why I made this video.
I totally understand. Electric skateboards are SO much fun! But I can’t recommend Meepo anymore. You’re better off spending more money on something reliable. It’ll cost you way less in the long run.
Great video I must say I have threemeepo boards and two backfire boards and one onboard kick tail board The only problem I had with a Markal board was the original drop-down deck board, and for some reason, it just stopped and threw me off Other than that, I have no complaints except for the scars on my elbows
Interesting! I have Envy too, as my first Esk8, for a few months now and with 550 km on it, and so far its all ok. First belts made like 300km and second ones are still fine-ish.
@@ronanhutchinson Thank you 😻 Mine 2nd ones are AliexPress and yes, since like 500km on odometer I take spare belts and tools with me for longer rides :-)
I got a meepo shuffle v4s er for $200 I plan to use it around campus i also plan on buying a used wowgo 2 s max this weekend for my girlfriend it's sad to hear ur board didn't hold up. So far there's 800 miles on the meepo so it seems to be holding up nicely
I just got a meepo v3s that doesn't take charge..its just stuck on O% i only paid 40 bucks and the rest of the board seems like its in good condition. Im wondering if there are any upgrades that would make ot better and stronger per say.
Hey. Thanks for watching. The only other boards I’ve tried are Maxfind and Boosted. I really love my Boosted Board. But they’re very expensive, and you have to buy them second hand… Maxfind are really nice too. They have some good boards on offer. I also really like the boards Exway have right now. They look great, but I’ve never tried Exway.
Hi 👋🏻 from Dublin. I’ve never used WowGo. But I’ve never heard of anyone complaining about them either, so they’re hopefully pretty decent. Tynee are another company who make some pretty nice longboards and seem to be decent too. They’re worth checking out. If you’re looking to buy either, I’d recommend a quick search online to see what other users are saying about them.
If I may suggest, I recommend the Tynee company. I had no problems with my Tynee Mini 2 (2 years old and 3000 km now), my Ultra (longboard style) and my Explorer (All-terrain moard). A very great company in my book.
I understand being frustrated you’ve had multiple issues but these are vehicles and need to be maintained accordingly. It sounds like you had warnings. Everything mechanical breaks eventually and it sounds like they provided a LOT of support and replacement parts for a budget brand!
Yeah but aside from belts (which I never had another problem with when I switched to 3rd party ones) none of the other breakdowns were things that are user serviceable… and when I reported those “warnings” to Meepo they assured me everything was fine… Other than stop using them, which is what I’ve done, there’s isn’t really any more I could do.
Your response was assuming too much. Most of the boards are hub drive. Tell me what maintenance you are supposed to do to hub motors? NONE! SO WHAT ARE YOU BABBLING ABOUT?!
@@jdsrealisticreviewsrants4482my only assumption is that everything mechanical eventually breaks, which it does. Check the bearings, inspect every nut and screw is snug. Remove the wheels and inspect the axle for signs of fatigue. Open it up to dry out if exposed to moisture. If you hear a concerning noise, stop until it’s solved. Don’t trust someone else saying “sounds fine!” Especially from a recording, that’s extremely subjective. These board endure extreme vibration, dust, and forces, they need to be serviced, period. To think because one has hub motors it needs no maintenance is extremely wishful (and dangerous) thinking. Less maintenance doesn’t mean no maintenance. And to expect S tier customer service and free parts from a budget brand is absurd. I bought an envy even after seeing this video and think it’s a great product.
Hi, has any Garda stop you asking for insurance of the board I live in Dublin. And have terrain board and voyager limited. What is been your experience in ur daily commute
Nah never had any issues with that. I think cause the e scooter legislation is now in effect, the Gards don’t much bother with electric skateboards unless they see you doing something that’s visibly dangerous.
@@ronanhutchinson that's awesome information thank you for reply. It's only few people been on street of dublin with ESK I am more confident to use my board on daily public. I appreciate so much.
What scares me is my envy just started making that rattle sound after I put the geardrive kit on the meepo envy. Now I'm very very concerned that a similar thing will happen. I'm looking into fully CNCed trucks to make sure no funny business happens with sudden breaks.............
Sorry to hear yours is starting to rattle like mine. If you can find replacement trucks hopefully it’ll be ok. In the meantime, be careful when you’re riding it.
@@ronanhutchinson What sucks even more is i just healed up from a broken elbow after getting almost 1000miles on the envy in 6 months, but was leaning too far forward on a steep hill that was rough pavement and the board got a little wheel chatter/drift and it tripped me and i broke elbow. But now seeing that EXACT sound in your video that my board has been making, concerns me so much so I won't RIDE RIDE that deck until I get new trucks.
Meepo quality and service has definitely fallen off over the years. They have a meepo V3 that’s still kicking due to a deck swap as well as aftermarket ER battery
Yeah, I definitely feel like I’ve had more, and more serious issues with the more recent boards. It sucks cause they are fun to ride. But I’m not willing to risk it now.
I also have the envy. I'm a large guy and haven't ridden too much, but wondering if others have has the same issue, specifically with the shredder trucks on the envy....
I haven’t heard of anyone else I know having that issue with trucks on the Envy. But Meepo trucks have been known to break like that in the past. I know someone whose front truck snapped on their Meepo Hurricane a few years back.
Totally! I feel like they could absolutely be one of the best eskate companies out there. And i did think that for a while, but with poor reliability and safety they just aren’t…
The battery pack and motor failed 2 times on my shuffle ..light water the 2nd time..1st was my fault. I was super careful the 2nd time.. water damage motor in a drizzle..battery wouldn't charge ..
@@ronanhutchinson yea I’ve put about 600 miles on it and for the price you get what you pay for. Gonna buy a replacement motor and hopefully get a new one different brand one soon. Any recommendations for battery life and just plan reliability? I use the board a lot would like one with bigger all terrain wheels
@datsdylan007 to be honest, I’m not sure. I use a Boosted board now. I’m actually running 80mm wheels on it 😅 they’re pretty expensive even now, and the batteries can give a fair bit of trouble. I think Exway look like they have some seriously good options. But I’ve never actually used one myself. So I don’t know how good they actually are.
Well i personally have had no issues with meepo like my envy and voyager have been great i do think that the issue with the envy was because your belts were too tight putting a lt of stress on that point especially of you ride on bumpy roads other than that i do not think that you should buy some of meepos older cheap boards because they usually have problems
There customer services 100% sucks. lucky for u that u was able to get in contact wit them. My battery fail in june n i got the board in January n if course they ignore my emails. Switch over to mboards n never look back. U get wat u paid for n best part, everything is basicially made in house n not in china.
Hey thanks for watching. Sorry to hear that they aren’t being helpful. That’s what it was like for me with my V3… if they won’t replace the esc, you could try bringing it to an electrical repair shop to see whether they can get it working? Or you could try sell it for parts and buy a new board

@WheresMyDolphin I’m gonna stand by my assessment of saying don’t buy Meepo period. I’ve tried different boards, at different tiers and run into various quality / safety issues. just yesterday i have the same truck snapping issue on my voyager which i have had for 3 months and put 2200km on it i did also have issues with snapping belts at the start i snapped 6 sets of belts in 700km then i decided that was enough and bought eboardstuff lifetime belts and i put them on at 800 and they are still flawless, i have contacted meepo and have not heard anything back yet although i do live in Canada so there is the time zone difference
I got my first Meepo Aurora coming arriving soon, but I have another Exway where I can shred and trust. I might take it easy on Meepo and go safe.
Nice! How do you find the Exway? Yeah, I’d definitely recommend taking it easy on the Meepo. Stay safe bro!
*Sorry to hear of your experiences* 😪
Yikes with the motor/axle snap 😱
Your candour and transparency is appreciated
🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️🤙🏽
Hopefully the issues raised are addressed promptly.
Sorry to hear you haven’t had great customer service. Yeah, you shouldn’t have wheels coming off. Did your truck snap, or did something else happen?
Because then you’d feel like they’re actually trying to make sure their boards are safe.
i got a hurricane ... had some things to fix .. but has 2000 miles and still works fine .. ;.. lucky me :)
Had my meepo mini 2 er for 3 years. Put hundreds of miles and it saw alot of wear and tear. Still have it to this day og esc and battery. Range is half of what it used to be but it still gets around 10 miles
Is there any brand you'd recommend for a nice quality electric board?? im looking to buy an all terrain board but idk which brands are reliable!
To be honest, I’m not really sure… I think Exway are decent, but I’ve never tried one
Thanks for the review. I was about to order the meepo flow but having second thoughts. Any suggestions on these types of board?
Hey. Thanks for watching. I don’t have any experience with the Meepo flow. Anyone I know on YT or IG who has one seems to really like it. But personally, I’d look at the Evolve Stoke or the Loaded Onirique if that’s the kind of board you’re after
Tynee stinger if you into mini boards
@ko-bk2uz I’m not really a mini board guy. But would definitely be up for trying a Tynee
Such a bummer, especially the Envy 🥀
Yep. It sucks
I’ve been wanting a meepo for a while but the cost to value / problems doesn’t equal out for me.
I totally understand. Electric skateboards are SO much fun! But I can’t recommend Meepo anymore. You’re better off spending more money on something reliable. It’ll cost you way less in the long run.
Great video I must say I have threemeepo boards and two backfire boards and one onboard kick tail board
The only problem I had with a Markal board was the original drop-down deck board, and for some reason, it just stopped and threw me off Other than that, I have no complaints except for the scars on my elbows
Sorry to hear about your elbow. There’s nothing worse than having a board fail on you. 😞
Were there review boards for meepo or production boards that was sent to you
I’ve had a Maxfind and I have a Boosted board. The Boosted is 👌🏻
Interesting! I have Envy too, as my first Esk8, for a few months now and with 550 km on it, and so far its all ok. First belts made like 300km and second ones are still fine-ish.
Your belts did better than mine! 😂😂 once I put third party belts on though I was flying! I hope all stays good on your board! Stay safe bro!
I've had a hurricane bamboo for a few months... 350+ miles and no issues.
I just got a meepo v3s that doesn't take charge..its just stuck on O% i only paid 40 bucks and the rest of the board seems like its in good condition. Im wondering if there are any upgrades that would make ot better and stronger per say.
Hi, so which Eboard company do you suggest now? Thanks
@@ronanhutchinson Thanks for info. What do you think about WowGo? Greetings from Croatia!
@@ronanhutchinson Thanks for the info, may I ask what do you think about WowGo boards? Greetings from Croatia!
@fredpallaya5316 good stuff. It’s a fantastic way to get around. Just watch out for those potholes 😅😅
@@ronanhutchinson sure thing. I have little experience with my board, but now I have hope to take around the public. Super advice, with potholes 👍😀
Very good idea! Sorry to hear about your elbow 😢 I’m glad you’re better now though.
I know someone whose front truck snapped on their Meepo Hurricane a few years back.
yepp. also, lots of bad business behind the scenes of a few things. its a shame. they could be great.
Totally! I feel like they could absolutely be one of the best eskate companies out there. And i did think that for a while, but with poor reliability and safety they just aren’t…
@@ronanhutchinsondo they owe u $ for referral commissions?
You tried a Onewheel?
No, haven’t had an opportunity to yet. But I’d love to check one out!
Any cloud wheel for meepo with 6 screws hub motors??
The battery pack and motor failed 2 times on my shuffle ..light water the 2nd time..1st was my fault. I was super careful the 2nd time.. water damage motor in a drizzle..battery wouldn't charge ..
That sucks. Sorry to hear that bro. They really should be better able to stand up to the weather than that!
Thanks!
Thank you! 🙏🏻 and thanks for watching. I’m glad you found my video helpful
Bushing on mine fell apart after 3 weeks and motor failed at 2 months
Sorry to hear that. Yeah, it sucks when they fail!!
DIY is the way to go if you can be bothered to sorce all the parts to build it
To be honest, I think I’d love that if I could find the time to put the research into into it 😅😅
Well i personally have had no issues with meepo like my envy and voyager have been great i do think that the issue with the envy was because your belts were too tight putting a lt of stress on that point especially of you ride on bumpy roads other than that i do not think that you should buy some of meepos older cheap boards because they usually have problems
I am sorry about your experiences but after 11 electric boards most chinese I get you. Cool to hear someone say tink instead of think.
There customer services 100% sucks. lucky for u that u was able to get in contact wit them. My battery fail in june n i got the board in January n if course they ignore my emails. Switch over to mboards n never look back. U get wat u paid for n best part, everything is basicially made in house n not in china.
Bought the V5, pretty sure the ESC is fucked and they basically told me its not their problem :/
Hey thanks for watching. Sorry to hear that they aren’t being helpful. That’s what it was like for me with my V3… if they won’t replace the esc, you could try bringing it to an electrical repair shop to see whether they can get it working? Or you could try sell it for parts and buy a new board
@@ronanhutchinson actually used your video about replacing the motor to figure out how to take apart the board. Unplug and replugged the ESC and Im pretty sure its working right now!
Amazing! I’m glad my video helped. Maybe one of the connections wasn’t in properly or something. I hope it keeps working for you. Be careful on it bro!
None of this covers any of their more advanced all terrain boards. It only focuses on hub motors
I’ve never been into their AT boards. Only used the street boards. But they aren’t all hub driven… the Envy is belt driven 🤷
@@ronanhutchinson these AT boards with the mini Tesla motors seem to be in good standing after a a couple months of decent abuse that includes mud, water, and gravel.
I just don't like how the video is saying to not buy Meepo boards, period. It should focus on the mid tier ones you have.
@WheresMyDolphin I’m gonna stand by my assessment of saying don’t buy Meepo period. I’ve tried different boards, at different tiers and run into various quality / safety issues. And to be honest, having a truck snap off a higher tier board would be enough for me not to recommend them anymore. I hope your board never gives you any hassle. I can tell you it’s no fun when a truck snaps and you lose a wheel when you’re commuting.
@@ronanhutchinsonThank you for your honest input! I still have a solid year warranty with my Hurricane Bamboo Pro so I will keep everything you said in mind!
@WheresMyDolphin good stuff! Stay safe on it bro
Bro try the hurricane it’s the best
Thanks for the tip. I prefer longboard style boards that have some flex in the deck. But I also still don’t trust those trucks… I’d rather try a different brand altogether at this stage. Just had too many things go wrong.

I actually bought an old boosted v2 last year and I’ve been using that! It’s a great board. But I’ve had to repair get the battery repaired cause they were a little over engineered. I’m definitely an electric longboard guy. I’m not so into the All Terrain boards or short boards so much.
