From Wrestlemania V through Wrestlemania X (1989-1994) and all shows in between, here are the 50 greatest theme songs in WWF history. No copyright infringement intended.
As a guy who was born in 2001 I would've killed to have lived through this time of wrestling. Imagine being a young kid getting into wrestling at this time and then be a teenager/young adult during the attitude era. Must've been incredible
Grew up in that era as well shouldn't have been numbered... but some I disagree with some good theme songs missing all about the evolution of wwe as a whole factions that changed the direction of this megapower im a DX kinda person and the holy grail of theme songs is missing MR McMahon theme song without him this would be nothing
Definitely Warrior number 1 for me, whenever his music hit as a kid id go bananas lol. Hogan 2nd, his theme is classic. Bossman's was up there too, and Shawn Michaels singles/rockers
Razor Ramon's theme music was badass. I love the beginning. Can't believe it was #26. Unless this is 50 Greatest Themes in no particular order. Mr. Perfect had iconic theme music & The Undertaker's is still around to this day
Good list despite the order of the tunes. Childhood memories of watching my VHS tapes and playing in my room with my WWF action figures of the era. A great time to enjoy wrestling. I blame my mum for getting me into wrestling in the 80s despite being born in '86 lol. My mum watch the old UK wrestling on TV and when we lived in the US after I was born we would have Portland Wrestling on TV until we came back to the UK and I was hooked
Lol, I love how the pic for The Red Rooster says "Say no to drugs", despite the fact that someone had to be high af to come up with that gimmick. And personally, I'd have Perfect's song WAY higher than it was. That song, for who it was designed for, was just that... absolutely, perfect!
The gimmick was basically vince's way of making fun of Terry Taylor by saddling him with something that wasn't going to work no matter what he tried to do. The funny part of it is that despite it being a total failure the fans did remember it and when he returned too wwf in 1992 he went out to do a promo at a house show in NYC and someone shouted "rooster, rooster" at him and the entire crowd joined in which killed his heat and forced him to go backstage in tears.
@@jfearless3420 Again, gimmick-wise, Doink was more over than the Red Rooster. He'd never have been anything more than mid-card but Doink had a much better reaction from the crowd than Terry Taylor/Rooster
Damn, no rowdy roddy piper? Not only is he my favourite wrestler, his bagpipes are iconic. Oso hulk hogan at number 8? Dusty at 38? Good list but shit placements.
After hearing Ultimate Warrior and The Rockers themes back to back; I just realized they are pretty much the same music, with a slight variation in them.
That Dusty Rhodes WWF theme still makes me crack up 😂 - it’s a testament to his greatness that he was able to get over with the fans with that terrible gimmick Vince gave him
Can kind of understand his ranking. Listen to the version from 92 compared with one from 95. The organ playing in the latter version is what made it iconic. His older version seems way more elementary
I disagree, but this is not my list. But these would be my top 10. The "original" Demolition as #1 instead #6. Powers of Pain (not even included) #2, The Undertaker at #3, Randy Savage at #4, Razor Ramon #5 ,Hulk Hogan #6, Ultimate Warrior at #7, Road Warriors #8, Mr. Perfect #9, and Big Boss Man #10 But no matter how you stack them, Those were some good times.
Legion of Doom easily Top 5, Demolition at least one above, Undertaker’s intro put the fear in crowds, totally forgot about million dollar jam - top ✌️, and Warrior’s was and forever will be the Ultimate
1. Ultimate Warrior (Unstable) 2. Hulk Hogan (Real American) 3. Dusty Rhodes (Common Man Boogie) 4. Demolition (Pain and Destruction) 5. Shawn Michaels (Sexy Boy) 6. Boss man (Hard Time) 7. Beefcake (Haircut) 8. Mr. Perfect (Perfection) 9. Taker (Funeral Dirge) 10. Million Dollar Man (All about the Money Not necessarily in that order. That’s just my top 10 from that era
I appreciate how high Rick Rude, Demolition and the Honky Tonk Man made it on this list, but I feel like you missed a big one in Sid Justice and I personally really like the theme Lex Luger started using in 1994 after the Lex Express era.
A trip down memory lane! I have had "Ravishing" Rick Rude's entrance music as my phone's ringtone for years. Only within the last two weeks has someone correctly guessed what it is. Fun times!
You mean original stone cold steve austin theme? Really, REALLY take a deeper listen to that theme song. It is and always will be Undertaker at true number 1
When you make a ranking list but instead of thinking you pick names out of a hat. Haven't made it to the top ten and I've heard Savage, Perfect, Hart, Taker, Razor, all iconic themes beat out by Ham and eggers.
I miss that era so much. It was a great time to be a kid for sure.
In your opinion
So many dead hero's 😔
Does anyone else miss their childhood? 1989-1992..holy shit.
Miss it...I want my childhood back
I would go back to the awesome 80s in a heartbeat.
Yup wtf happened we are old now
@@benignasiak3015 another 20-30 years we will be sat in a rocking chair remembering the 90s childhood wrestling 😂
I which I can find doc and marty lol back to the future joke but would love to travel back to the 80s miss my childhood and the wrestling back then b
The rankings are off on some of these but this is a must watch for anybody who grew up on WWF in the early 90s. Trip down memory lane.
Agreed
Very much agree. The top five in particular was really weird. But I still appreciate the OP for putting this together.
not just off WAAAAY OFF like hes ranking his fav wrasslers...not the themes....no way rick martels music gets on this list...EVAR
Perfect way too low good call on jakes heel song higher
Yeah like way off
Taker not crackin the top 20?
Razor Ramon too low
Macho Man
I can go on
As a guy who was born in 2001 I would've killed to have lived through this time of wrestling. Imagine being a young kid getting into wrestling at this time and then be a teenager/young adult during the attitude era. Must've been incredible
I lived it and it was the best damn thing ever. Vince McMahon is a genius
It was, looking forward to raw then a few years later smackdown the same as u do a ppv was amazing
Even better was living in Chicago and being a Bulls fan…. It seems we had it all!
Lived it was great
I was Born In God Damn 2010 I always say I wish I was older to see these wrestlers in action 😢
It's criminal that The Mountie is not in the top 10
Undertaker's original theme is at number 30?
What is wrong with you?
It wasn’t a countdown. It’s 50 greatest in random order
@@jonathananderson5788 it’s counted for 50.
My thoughts exactly
Grew up in that era as well shouldn't have been numbered... but some I disagree with some good theme songs missing all about the evolution of wwe as a whole factions that changed the direction of this megapower im a DX kinda person and the holy grail of theme songs is missing MR McMahon theme song without him this would be nothing
It should be higher, but it is also public domain, so not really any creativity involved in it.
Who else hears Gorilla Monsoon & the Weasel bickering with each song? Those 2 were untouchable on commentary.
Tatanka's Theme:
Brain: "Uh oh, better circle the wagons Monsoon!" Gorilla: "Oh will you stop!"
"Janetty tried to jump the window to escape. What an act of cowardism." 😄
@@dominictropiano8800 😂😂 classic
Mr. Perfect & Undertaker should be in top 10 with out a doubt
What'd i know i thought Hogan would've been number one and where was Flair?
Rick Martel theme Song in the top ten?noooo way
Razor Ramon didn’t even make 25! That’s criminal!
In the Top 5, really.
@@paologonzato5202 Loved it when I was young.
For me, the best one has to be the original Demolition theme tune, I have that as my ringtone....
The Snake's Miami Vice ripoff theme is my favorite of this particular WWF time period.
This was the period I was most into wrestling. I've forgotten about a lot of these. Thanks for the memories!
Definitely Warrior number 1 for me, whenever his music hit as a kid id go bananas lol. Hogan 2nd, his theme is classic. Bossman's was up there too, and Shawn Michaels singles/rockers
Be careful Virgil might charge you for using his name. Lol
Twenty dollars at least lol
@@heyitsthatmadhatterperson117 The Twenty Dollar Man
His theme music was the only good thing about his gimmick
Dusty's music should be waaaaaaay higher imo
Also - I forgot how good Boss Man's music was, definitely one of my favourites
Razor Ramon's theme music was badass. I love the beginning. Can't believe it was #26. Unless this is 50 Greatest Themes in no particular order. Mr. Perfect had iconic theme music & The Undertaker's is still around to this day
The only wrestler on this list.
Razor Ramon's theme was actually a rip off of a song by the Eagles
@@sheepdavis Really?? I had no idea. Do you know what song? I'll have to look it up & check it out. I've always loved Razor's Theme Music
Miss these days of the wwf. Good time to be a kid and especially 13 years old with the rockers 😍

I've seen worse gimmicks: doink, bastian booger, max moon, and adrian Adonis.
@@jfearless3420 Doink was a decent mid-carder. I get the others, but Doink was way more over with the crowd than The Rooster was.
@@davekemp1808 lol. He was a better wrestler. I'll give you that but I'm talking about gimmicks.
@@jfearless3420 Again, gimmick-wise, Doink was more over than the Red Rooster. He'd never have been anything more than mid-card but Doink had a much better reaction from the crowd than Terry Taylor/Rooster
Mr Perfect theme I used to hum to myself all the time like it was my own entrance tune wherever I went.
I would him it Everytime I would play Football and was about to catch the ball 🏈 caught it Everytime because of this song
And I’m guessing each time… it was …“perfect” 😄😂
There’s never a right order to lists like this… only excellent choices.
Mr. Perfect 👌👍😊. Greatest of all time
Good list, terrible order.
I like all those wwe hall of famers theme songs
@@lenortucker2231 me too 💪🏽
Yeah this list shouldn’t have been numbered!
We can tell this guy grew up in the 80's. The whole top 10 was 80's characters.
Top 2 were correct though but should switch
Bret Hart, HBK, DX, Warrior, Hulk Hogan, LOD, my Favs all time
I'm taking it you don't know dx wasn't form till after 1994
Sheri Martel is a goddess. I didnt appreciate her in my youth.
I did
Rip Owen hart number 38
Dusty Rhodes' music will always be one of my favorites.
In terms of matching a performer with the right theme, Mr. Perfect could be number 1
I love The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers’ entrance theme.
They had a great theme love it "All American boys!"
Damn, no rowdy roddy piper? Not only is he my favourite wrestler, his bagpipes are iconic. Oso hulk hogan at number 8? Dusty at 38? Good list but shit placements.
No Ric Flair either...
@@Feralwolf444 man and he added hillbilly jim...the outrage
@@samzonDx not only did he add hillbilly jim HE ADDED TUGBOAT, TATANKA, SARGENT SLAUGHTER AND THE MOUTE AND THE BUSHWHACKERS
@@thanksgivingshrekhe WHAT? Sgt slaughter i can understand but tugboat? TUGBOAT. Hulk hogan's "successor" instead of his first nemesis....ok
I didn't even think about him. How in the hell is the American dream song in there and Piper isn't at all?
Just play “Unstable”, the Ultimate Warriors theme 50x. There’s your top 50.
Damn straight bro
WTF happened to music in general...but the WWF musical decline represents Americas/
I love that theme, I run into the gym listening to that.
Too many have passed too soon 😢
20 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back.
Are you kidding me the million dollar man at number 15 I think he can buy his way a little bit closer to the top LOL
Definitely top 5
After hearing Ultimate Warrior and The Rockers themes back to back; I just realized they are pretty much the same music, with a slight variation in them.
how long it take ya...
No there not is there something wrong with ur hearing.
I saw The Rockers enter to the Ultimate Warrior's theme once
I love the original Jake the snake music. Thanks Jim.
Yeah. Both of Jake's theme songs were badass.
Pretty sure whoever came up with Brutus the barber’s theme tune was watching Seinfeld at the time
Your mistaken; Brutus theme was first. Give credit to either Jimmy Hart or Jim Johnston. They both composed a lot of theme songs back then.
Bottle of champagne, mink rug, dim the lights, put on Rick Rude's Theme.....impossible to fail
That Dusty Rhodes WWF theme still makes me crack up 😂 - it’s a testament to his greatness that he was able to get over with the fans with that terrible gimmick Vince gave him
Can’t lie the rockers theme song use to pump me up
Slick and Honkey Tonk was always my favorites
All-American Boys needs to be a lot higher. Great catchy heel theme. Also Real American is easily #1, of all time.
Agreed about Real American
If All-American Boys is any lower than 1, it should be higher.
I figured american dream, takers, macho man's ,and hogan's should have been right there with the warriors
That song fucking sucks
Your ranking is funny, your selection great, but especially the pics are fine as hell and I love wasted Marty & Shawn as No.1
Hart Foundation should have been way higher. Got to love that electric guitar!!
yeah but brets 93 theme, is the better version of it.
Question it lol the whole list. ..but thanks 4 posting this
Been watching WWF/E since 1989
Those were the most greatest days
Mr Perfect #31? Bro, he's easily in the top 10.
Dusty Rhodes should easily be top 10
Your picks are very debatable
That's just like, his opinion man.
Real American Hulk Hogan has to be #1 and no true original WWF fan would disagree
Erm. Undertaker. #Lawyered
JIVE SOUL BRO....greatest theme song ever!!!
Oh the memories of my teen years
Undertaker at 30???? SERIOUSLY????? That was always one of the MOST ICONIC entrance themes, and holds up still to this day.
It's public domain.
Ikr that's a joke
It's crazy coming to think of it he was one of the young guys and scariest at the time.
For a long time I had that for my work ringtone....lol
Can kind of understand his ranking. Listen to the version from 92 compared with one from 95. The organ playing in the latter version is what made it iconic. His older version seems way more elementary
Bossman and Akeem. Damn I forgot about them!!! I don’t know if they would be that high but Great Theme Song indeed
Yeah that was awesome
Mr. Perfect at 31, you trollin.
Jake the Snake and Rick the Model Martel had dope songs
Totally disagree with the rankings but a must watch due to it bringing back good memories
Rockers Best ... I was surprisingly happy, knew it would be coming 😀😃😄👌👌👌
Perfect #9, and Big Boss Man #10 But no matter how you stack them, Those were some good times.
thanks a lot!
Legion of Doom easily Top 5, Demolition at least one above, Undertaker’s intro put the fear in crowds, totally forgot about million dollar jam - top ✌️, and Warrior’s was and forever will be the Ultimate
The British Bulldog theme still gives me goosebumps!! Summerslam 92!
I was Never a fano f Demolitions theme when Crush joined. Ax and Smash will be only Demolition
Excellent list, Rougeaus Song #1 forever
Three words:
Jive...Soul...Bro
Where's Ric flair, yokozuna, sid justice and macho man?
#30 - undertaker , are you serious
In the top 3 , I would say
I love that you have the original version of Shawn Michaels’ solo theme that Sherri sang.
Yeah. It’s always so jarring to hear that version. As soon as I hear “ohhh Shawn” I wish it’s the other version
1. Ultimate Warrior (Unstable)
2. Hulk Hogan (Real American)
3. Dusty Rhodes (Common Man Boogie)
4. Demolition (Pain and Destruction)
5. Shawn Michaels (Sexy Boy)
6. Boss man (Hard Time)
7. Beefcake (Haircut)
8. Mr. Perfect (Perfection)
9. Taker (Funeral Dirge)
10. Million Dollar Man (All about the Money
Not necessarily in that order. That’s just my top 10 from that era
Good start to morning
Dang, my dad LOVES hillbilly jim, he would play his theme every now and again
tito and martels theme sounds like a 80s sitcom intro
1 Ultimate Warrior
2 Undertaker
3 Honky Tonk Man
4 Hulk Hogan
5 Rick Rude
6 Bret Hitman Hart
7Mr Perfect
Real American will always be #1. It just fit
UNDERTAKER
Sherri and Tatanka best team
I appreciate how high Rick Rude, Demolition and the Honky Tonk Man made it on this list, but I feel like you missed a big one in Sid Justice and I personally really like the theme Lex Luger started using in 1994 after the Lex Express era.
Some of these songs would not be in my top 50
A trip down memory lane! I have had "Ravishing" Rick Rude's entrance music as my phone's ringtone for years. Only within the last two weeks has someone correctly guessed what it is. Fun times!
Back in 1989 i was 6 Year old
The good ol times!
holy shit you absolute legend, that was spot ob bruv
Hogan, Razor and Hitman is my top 3 in this timeline
I kinda liked the Ultimate Warrior one
My fav is ultimate warrior, second is evolution using Motörhead’s evolution title and third the NWO. Three bad ass themes.
That's nice, this is a list up to 1994...so...
Honorable mention: Hercules
Good job. Giving the late great Ravishing Rick Rude #3
Razor Ramon's theme should be #1.
nah NEVER
Not #1 but maybe top 10 of this list!
This shouldn’t have been numbered
Jake the Snake Roberts
You mean original stone cold steve austin theme? Really, REALLY take a deeper listen to that theme song.
It is and always will be Undertaker at true number 1
Here is my top ten:
1 Hogan
2 Warrior
3 Taker
4 Macho
5 Bret
6 DiBiase
7 Shawn
8 Perfect
9 Boss Man
10 Jake
Never realized how much the ultimate warriors theme sounded like the rockers theme until just now
Red rooster telling the kiddies to say no to drugs? The way he acted makes you think he was on crack.
Forgot about the Sherri version of HBK's theme lmao, I have this on in work too lol
I never knew Hillbilly Jim’s exact entrance theme.
Snakes theme has so much scar face / vice city vibes
Demolition @17:20 and Ultimate Warrior @19:18. Very hard not to head bang on those riffs.
When you make a ranking list but instead of thinking you pick names out of a hat. Haven't made it to the top ten and I've heard Savage, Perfect, Hart, Taker, Razor, all iconic themes beat out by Ham and eggers.
11:49 - Always #1
I always thought macho mans theme song would have suited his brother the Genius better since the Genius would always walk to ring with a cap and gown.
Starting off with wrestle mania challenge was great. I bought that game with birthday money from my dad
None of these can compare to... "the man called Sting!"
No Hot Rod bagpipes
Warrior no 1 for me
