Hi Gerard !! This is so lolvely to hear from you ! I'm so glad you enjoy the videos and that you play along with me ! I do remember this fest-noz in St-Alban (not far from Fréhel) with Trio Tarare : Manon Gicquel was on accordion, and her brother Nicolas, on clarinet.
Hello Lucie. I was just listening to The Acrobat hornpipe when I saw your message come in ! Thank you for your heart warming message. And yes, it was Trio Tarare. I had a lovely evening in St. Alban. I will contact you if I happen to go on holiday with my children in the Haute Jura. I had a look at your website. You are doing wonderful things with teaching, playing and singing ! I wish you good times, also with your music collectif. A Dutch fiddle friend of mine, Stella Rodrigues, lives in Glomel, Bretagne. She and her husband play in the collectif musical Pas D'Nom, Pas D'Maison. They mostly play eastern european oriented music. You can find them on youtube.
The boy in the boat sounds very similar to o'farrell's welcome to limerick; is it a variation or just another name for the same tune? Either way, it's one of my favorites.

Hi there ! Thank you for mentioning this name, and I think it's the *actual* name for the tune. I'm pretty bad at remembering the names, and The Boy in the Boat is actually a great reel ! Both are mighty tunes indeed !
