I also got into Dartmouth this year and was excited when you got in as well, but your rationale to choose UBC over Dartmouth for the reason of Canada's easier immigration laws shows you are highly pragmatic and forward-thinking. Good luck!
Congrats on Dartmouth and UBC! I had to choose between Brown on a full ride and UofT as a Lester B. Pearson Scholar (also a full ride) this year so I can imagine how difficult your decision must have been. All the best at UBC!
Congrats! (from Tokyo). I went to U of Minnesota and Caltech. A long time ago. haha. All the best to you. Getting a full ride to UBC is the right choice. BC/Vancouver is very nice. To be honest, immigration to US is not that hard, and maybe similar to Canada. But yeah, expensive tuition at Ivies is not worth it compared to your scholarship at UBC. (note: I got a green card by my engineering company; then after I got a US citizenship, I moved back to Thailand for family. Then job in Japan).
Hey bro, I saw ur post on intltousa and watched this video when you posted it. On that post you suggested Roundpier for ecs. I tried reaching out on Reddit but never got a response.
Hye Nilabh! small request from this side, could you kindly please make a video about the college application process to Canada? I, too, am an international student who is desperately seeking financial aid and i'm really curious to know about where Canadian Universities stand when it comes to giving aid to International Students. Also, given Canada's immigration policies it would be better to apply there too.
Through which application you applied for all these universities. I suppose you have applied through common app , but in which only upto 20, then how you applied for other can you tell me please
I am in 12th class and i want to apply in us college but by 12th exam on march 2024 and admission open in October 2023 they want 12 grade percent. What can I do
Bro I'm Abdul Wahab. I didn't have an Instagram account before watching this video. Please assist me with some of my concerns about applying colleges abroad. Please accept my request to follow you.
Omg I first saw your post on LinkedIn and found this video on my feed luckily when I was about to text u on LinkedIn. You are amazing. Congratulations! How did you manage your time to write essays for all these universities. When did you start off with your essay process? And Dartmouth promises to cover 100% need right? So didn't it offer you a fully ride?
I am not sure if you made the right choice, Dartmouth is need-blinded even for international students, so you should have received a very generous financial aid package. If you did not receive a very generous financial aid package is because the income of your parents is quite substantial. Additionally, the alumni of Dartmouth are on average more successful and Dartmouth is significantly more respected for applying to U.S grad schools.
I'm pretty sure he chose Canada due to the immigration regulations as well. In the US if you're an international it is very hard to stay on due to the lottery system, only 1/3 get it. If this happened he would have to return to India which doesn't seem to be his goal. Income in Canada is significantly higher than in India so if he had to return to India (2/3 chance) after studying in the US he would not be as successful as he would be if he went to UBC.
its crazy how calm you remained getting rejected to so many different places i respect it
