I've always thought that British type mechanical sirens sound particularly eerie. But then it was a noise that I was terrified I'd hear throughout the 80s, particularly the early 80s. Only 4 more minutes to live! There was a siren behind my local village hall, almost certainly a Castle Castings one. I was really afraid when I heard the town fire station one start up, but it was just a growl test.
@@The-ultimate-Tornado-ChannelYeah, this is the Klaxon GP8 which means "General Purpose 8" and the CS8 is "Coded Shutter 8" so yeah this is a CS8 without shutters
@@thunderchild2756 We Germans do not have these dual-tone electro-mechanical sirens. Ours are single-tone electro-mechanical sirens, such as the E57 (still common in Western Germany) or the DS977 (the type that used to be in Eastern Germany). If one siren is a dual-tone siren, it's electronic (HÖRMANN ECI/ECN XXXX or SONNENBURG SES XXX).
@@matthewwalker8197 I honestly don't know what it is lol it's way to new looking to be a castings/carter unless it's been perfectly refurbished which is unlikely. I'd say Klaxon GP12 or Secomak 🔊☺️
@@thunderchild2756 ahh ohh i see lol haha and well.. i dont think its a castle castings or carter for sure.. plus i own a more modern castle castings siren (70s/80s).. if only it wasnt damanged lol.. but yea i agree id definetly say its a klaxon or a secomak :)

The contrast between the bird song and children playing and what the siren represents is quite chilling .
Agreed 💯
