By refusing to honor the MINST agreement, which he signed over 8 years ago, and knowing the geo-political dynamics of the region, he should have been wiser. Well, wisdom is not something associated even remotely with Zelensky. So, while we can blame the US for abandoning Zelensky and the Ukrainian people and handing the to Russian War Fire to be destroyed, I would say that the Ukrainian people need to hold Zelensky accountable.

MLRS is not the type of weapon normally used to attack ships. MLRS is like carpet bombing by strategic bombers, but without aircraft. When it's fired, a large area is completely obliterated.
The MLRS the USA have arent used to blanket a wide area. Almost all rockets are GPS guided and are far more precise than any Russia have atm... so destroying a wide area isnt necessary.

The Biden statement (quoted elsewhere, too bad this channel couldn't report verbatim words) that no weapons would be provided Ukraine that wouold strike over 50 miles is tragic. That would mean that even if Ukrainian weapons were rolled right up to the Ukraine-Russian border, Ukraine wouldn't be able to interdict supplies further than 50 miles into Russia. Roads rail and supply depots could be set up that distance from the front and feel invulnerable to interdiction. For 2 reasons, this is completely inadequate. First, of course it's unlikely that Ukraine can roll weapons right up to the Ukraine-Russia border to fire into Russia so the supply lines would feel invulnerable a lot closer to the border than 50 miles. This is especially important if Russia has a shortage of trucks so military units have to retreat to supply depots or rail heads to be resupplied. Second, there's a lot of occupied territory that can't be reached if weapons can only fire 50 miles. Like all the resupply targets in occupied Crimea. And most of occupied Donbas. For that matter, also all the supply lines Russia is using for their offense in the Luhansk region. And, of course the closer your weapons are to the front lines, the more likely they will be destroyed... if not immediately then eventually. The M777 howitzers sent will not last that long because they are well within the range of Russian artillery when they're fired, much less longer range rockets and missiles. If it takes getting a pledge from Ukraine not to fire at targets beyond a certain distance of the border, do it. If it takes giving Ukraine only a tiny handful (5?) MLRS to limit where they can be used, do it. But Ukraine should be given at least a few to hit the few very highest value targets instead of letting those simply operate with impunity. The thing is, this is also the type of weapon that would be very unlikely to be captured intact by adversaries because it can be fired from within well controlled territory and still reach deep into enemy territory. If MLRS can't be provided Ukraine, Ukraine should have a deeper discussion with the Turks about an upgrade of weaponry for the TB-2 and see what might be possible.

I urge our close partners in Europe, not least the UK to send Harpoon missiles to Ukraine, just as Denmark have now (according to our military) already shipped the Mobile harpoon missile systems to Ukraine after weeks of training the Ukrainians to use them. More misinformation from CRUX. The US IS sending longer range MLRS systems to Ukraine. However they are sending the MLRS with a range of 70kms rather than the system with a range of 300kms. The good news is the system with a 70km range is enough to give Ukraine the edge with regard to artillery range.

MLRS are still coming to Ukraine, it's just not the very long range ones, that can target Russian Territories, rather the 60-70 Km variants, more than enough to outrange the Russian Artilleries. Giving Ukraine the Long Range one might give Putin the reason to escalate to Total War thus mobilize his entire forces.

Russia wanted to annexe Ukraine from the outset. You are missing that Zelensky conceded neutrality from the outset of the war, Putin not interested. It was not neutrality that mattered, anyway it was the drive to recreate a "Greater Russia". it was the aspiration of Ukraine people, not specifically Zelensky that Ukraine should seek NATO membership. Neutral Finland and Sweden now seeking NATO membership, and even the beginnings of more pro NATO views of neutral Switzerland and Austria. Putin being NATO's greatest advocate for joining.

The truth is that many people warned Ukraine about the fact that relying on the US to go all the way with Ukraine is a pipe dream, based on recent evidence in other conflicts in which the US has been involved. The priority of the US is the US. Their interests come first. It is true that the US literally PUSHED Zelensky into this war until the last Ukrainian. Well, why would Zelensky accept such a deal? If he truly cared about the Ukrainian peopled, why would anyone be willing to sacrifice his people simply so that the US would achieve their goal of weakening Russia? The US did not make this a secret. They said it publicly and loudly on several occasions. So, Zelensky cannot pretend that he did not know.
So, the question is what, "did Zelensky gain in this deal?" He literally SOLD the Ukrainian people out and allowed the destruction of Ukraine. By refusing to honor the MINST agreement, which he signed over 8 years ago, and knowing the geo-political dynamics of the region, he should have been wiser.
Well, wisdom is not something associated even remotely with Zelensky. So, while we can blame the US for abandoning Zelensky and the Ukrainian people and handing the to Russian War Fire to be destroyed, I would say that the Ukrainian people need to hold Zelensky accountable.

MLRS is not the type of weapon normally used to attack ships. MLRS is like carpet bombing by strategic bombers, but without aircraft. When it's fired, a large area is completely obliterated.
The MLRS the USA have arent used to blanket a wide area. Almost all rockets are GPS guided and are far more precise than any Russia have atm... so destroying a wide area isnt necessary.

The Biden statement (quoted elsewhere, too bad this channel couldn't report verbatim words) that no weapons would be provided Ukraine that wouold strike over 50 miles is tragic. That would mean that even if Ukrainian weapons were rolled right up to the Ukraine-Russian border, Ukraine wouldn't be able to interdict supplies further than 50 miles into Russia. Roads rail and supply depots could be set up that distance from the front and feel invulnerable to interdiction.
For 2 reasons, this is completely inadequate.
First, of course it's unlikely that Ukraine can roll weapons right up to the Ukraine-Russia border to fire into Russia so the supply lines would feel invulnerable a lot closer to the border than 50 miles. This is especially important if Russia has a shortage of trucks so military units have to retreat to supply depots or rail heads to be resupplied.
Second, there's a lot of occupied territory that can't be reached if weapons can only fire 50 miles. Like all the resupply targets in occupied Crimea. And most of occupied Donbas. For that matter, also all the supply lines Russia is using for their offense in the Luhansk region.
And, of course the closer your weapons are to the front lines, the more likely they will be destroyed... if not immediately then eventually. The M777 howitzers sent will not last that long because they are well within the range of Russian artillery when they're fired, much less longer range rockets and missiles.
If it takes getting a pledge from Ukraine not to fire at targets beyond a certain distance of the border, do it.
If it takes giving Ukraine only a tiny handful (5?) MLRS to limit where they can be used, do it.
But Ukraine should be given at least a few to hit the few very highest value targets instead of letting those simply operate with impunity.
The thing is, this is also the type of weapon that would be very unlikely to be captured intact by adversaries because it can be fired from within well controlled territory and still reach deep into enemy territory.
If MLRS can't be provided Ukraine, Ukraine should have a deeper discussion with the Turks about an upgrade of weaponry for the TB-2 and see what might be possible.

More misinformation from CRUX. The US IS sending longer range MLRS systems to Ukraine. However they are sending the MLRS with a range of 70kms rather than the system with a range of 300kms. The good news is the system with a 70km range is enough to give Ukraine the edge with regard to artillery range.

MLRS are still coming to Ukraine, it's just not the very long range ones, that can target Russian Territories, rather the 60-70 Km variants, more than enough to outrange the Russian Artilleries. Giving Ukraine the Long Range one might give Putin the reason to escalate to Total War thus mobilize his entire forces.

Russia wanted to annexe Ukraine from the outset. You are missing that Zelensky conceded neutrality from the outset of the war, Putin not interested. It was not neutrality that mattered, anyway it was the drive to recreate a "Greater Russia". it was the aspiration of Ukraine people, not specifically Zelensky that Ukraine should seek NATO membership. Neutral Finland and Sweden now seeking NATO membership, and even the beginnings of more pro NATO views of neutral Switzerland and Austria. Putin being NATO's greatest advocate for joining.
