    Mark - thank you again for these videos. When you state that your demo mace is 12.5 - is that measured in lb or kg?

    i was pretty sure to buy a heavy club next (just bought a kb), but these videos of mace made me not so sure. do you think heavy clubs is still the best option?

    Great video, would a heavy viking axe be worth training with?

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman 4 роки тому +1

      It would be but the shape and edge might not allow for these types of movements. (We are talking a single bit bearded ax or a double bit fighting ax)

      @@MarkWildman I don't know, i know an old dude who runs a private museum he has a massive collection of medieval weapons! 300 swords and axes and a broken zwei hander, some replica things for example an executioners axe with black handle big blade totally comic book. Seeing your videos makes me want to practice with the weapons especially the zwei hander but i think it is too heavy. Replica viking axes i can manage, i hope. If you have never seen a German Zwei Hander please google it. You won't believe how strong people used to be. You are spot on about bodybuilding moves they are rubbish.

      Robert Harper zwei handers are not as heavy as one might think. They ranged from 2kg to 3kg. And as the name say’s they are definitely two handed weapons. Huge handles to provide a longer lever for the user. There are even some stances that require one hand to grip beyond the guard in a spear like fashion. Very versatile and agile weapon. I have seen some modern users go really fast with them!

      @@CharitonIosifides Cool, ill see if i can get my hands on one! Also i might actually get a mace as it really does look like a decent fitness tool.

      Robert Harper, before diving into that lovely rabbit hole of medieval swords, please note that Mark has not begun a sword series!!! And, although I have searched, I have not yet found the Mark Wildman of swords (if you get my meaning). If fitness is your goal kettlebells, clubs and maces are more than fine.

    Excellent video as always!!! I really want to start doing the mace series. But maces are really hard to come by in this here Mediterranean island. So I am going to have one fabricated (not nearly as cool as your mf-refab one). What are your recommendations for mace size for beginners?
    The kb and club recommendation videos are there but mace is missing. I am thinking 2kg or 3kg. (I am 92kg and I got a 14kg kb and 5kg club)

      Think 10lbs. Or 5k which is.... 11lbs.

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman 4 роки тому +3

      Then maybe a 7.5 kg mace / or 15 lbs . 10/15 lbs (or 5k/7.5k) is what this programming is designed for

      SPENCER BRAINARD you are right. I remember Mark talking about mace sizes but I could not remember the specific video. There are maces on Amazon’s European sites. No shipping to Cyprus though 😩.
