My favorite figure from 2022 (and one of my absolute favorites in general) is Good Smile Company's Flandre Scarlet. I immediately fell in love the first time I saw her and she definitely lives up to my expectations. I love how her clothes match perfectly with the little cake she's holding, the little drop of cream on her hand, the messy ribbon around her, her wings with the vibrant, translucent crystals, her cute expression and pose and most importantly her little pumkin friends. The candy in their mouths just looks SO good. I'm also really happy they went with a nice, basic acrylic base (even thought it's huge). Sadly, they didn't pick up the matching Remilia.
My favorite figure that I ordered in 2021 which arrived in 2022 was the F:Nex Hoshiguma Figure (from Arknights). The amount of detail on that thing ugh!! Also it's very hefty and is obviously of great quality I was impressed.
Definitly like the Sephia figure from the Bomber Girl line and Imediately pre-ordered Aqua when that one was announced. At this point I'm more then likely just gonna simp out and get figures in that line since the designs are really good and just like the figures over all. Also Amana Kuni has done a great job with it's figures.
My favorite figure or should I say statue I bought in 2022 is the Nier automata prime 1 2b statue it looks amazing in pictures already but it looks even better irl all the detailing and painting of the dress, base and most importantly the face are all so well done
I care about Nendoroids as much as I do scales. So if you are willing to talk about them, I am all ears. :) I feel the same way about pre-orders. Given how expensive everything is and how long figures take to come out these days, I just don't feel like dumping a lot of money in advance on figures I may or may not care about a year from now. I'm a more modest figure collector each year, so although I enjoy watching many different figure collectors here on UA-cam, I only purchase about 1-3 and maybe a few nendo dolls. So my favorites are pretty limited, but I chose to purchase the Ques Q Holo and I believe she was my favorite this year. She may not be flashy, but I've struggled to find a Holo that had the right face (they always mess up the face in my opinion) and her lively nature present in both the manga and anime. This one just represents joy to me, she looks so happy and how her dress hugs her body is so tasteful w/ out making it the focus point. Her base is also lovely. I'm extremely happy w/ my purchase!
Two minutes in and posting this - 100% a scales-guy but I roll with what you have for us since it's great to know what is going on in the grand scheme of things in the figure world. Will slowly take my time to enjoy the rest :)

Sadly he is hard to find. Good smile US already sold out and he isn't on their international site at all. I think unless he gets a 2nd wave or you can get him through a proxy server than it is gonna be pricey to pick him up. Sad because I actually really wanted him.

First: So you are also a demon girl lover, let's shake hands from a culture man to another. Second: My favorite 2022 figure is Lappland Elite II 1/7 Premium ver. She is one of my favorite Arknights characters and APEX Toys did a fine job on recreating her Elite 2 artwork and her price was the cherry on the top($160) I'm pretty sure if this was a FurYu or an Alter figure would have cost over $300.
Personally, I really enjoy your comments on Nendoroids. However, I will say that it's not an absolute must to discuss them since most Nendoroids do well to portray the character. If you're a Nendoroid collector like myself and see a character you like from the original material, it's almost a given you'll pick it up. Scales on the other hand can be hit or miss depending the sculp. Overall, I would still love to hear your comments regarding Nendoroid releases but can definitely understand the focus on scales. Regardless, I'm here for the content. Also, that Erofu-Luna is absolutely gorgeous. Very tempting to pick it up but just can't go through with it.
Sometimes I feel like I'm just running through the accessories when I talk about em. Unless I'm up to date with the series it can be tough to think of anything to say, but I still like em and feel like they're a pretty big part of the hobby. Maybe if I just dedicated some time to a few of the best and then just list the rest of the notable ones it could work, but yeah I'm just thinkin outloud
I don't mind not talking about nendos in the roundups, maybe if there's something specific to say about one or two if you want to, but is not really necesary. Whatever makes you feel more comfortable making videos and don't drain you is great This year actually didn't get so many new figures (mostly hunting old figures, that I can buy now because I have more income), and a lot of them were delayed to this year, or were pre-ordered on TOM (still waiting for my TOM figures from months ago). I guess my favorite new figure I got this year has to be the Kaibutsu Shoujo Pelecanus 1/7, from Luminous Box, I have her displayed with my Wisteria Night Hag Lilith from Myethos and they are perfect together!
re: leaving out the nendos I don't mind having them included, but mostly what I'm here for is to hear your opinions and there's only so much constructive conversation you can have about a nendoroid. Scales lend themselves better to this kind of commentary, and it's personally where I find the most value. Great video!
Out of this line up, I really like the Ariel Amakuni figure. For such a simple figure, it does catch your eye. And I love the Albedo figure, it's in my wishlist and I'm just waiting for that weak moment when I actually pre-order it, since I've been waiting for it's pre-order for what feels like forever. But I feel like I'm battling space, and I'm close to getting to that point where I need to start boxing up figures to make space for new figures... or get another display case (which I have been trying not to do). But great walkthrough, these kinds of videos are dangerous, since they remind me of some figures that I forgot to preorder. 😆
The good thing about Spiritale figures is that they're like always available on Amiami so I'd say there's no rush if you gotta think things over. To be fair alot of my collection isn't displayed which sucks, but I guess I've gotten used to it. I need to move again anyway so I'm not really stressing it, but it also helps me filter out figures I no longer care about so that's a positive, I guess lol

As someone who is not interested in Nedoroids, or any other posable figures, I prefer to not include them but putting them at the beginning or end of the video is fine as well so it is easy to skip.
Great video as always Zucco! I too pre-ordered the MX-Chan figure frame 1. It's an attractive figure in all the ways lmao. In response to the best 2022 figures I have 2 of them. First one would be Good Smile Company's Saber/Mordred Clarent Blood Arthur figure. She is my favorite Fate character and I love both the face sculpt they did for her with her ready to fight and the cool fighting pose she's in being ready to swing her sword. However, this figure was a pain in the ass to assemble because of the tiny armor pieces I had to put in the back of her armor and they were just not fitting in well with the holes you had to slide them in to. Also the lighting piece to put in for one of her swappable swords was giving me an anxiety attack since I felt I was going to break something. There were just a lot of parts to this figure that wasn't easy to put in with the figure and it's definitely made me more cautious buying figures with dynamic poses since I feel they might be more tough to assemble than others. The other figure I love so much that came out this year is Wave's Tsuki Uzaki Cow Pattern Bikini figure from Uzaki-Chan. The figure was easy to assemble, Tsuki's embarrassed look with the cow bikini outfit is both adorable and sexy, and I especially love the fluffy base it comes with. I want to see more figures tackle making these kinds of bases because I think it's pretty cool to brush your fingers on a character base. Just gives it extra value for something I never knew I'd like imo.
My Nr.1 figure i got this year is probably Flare‘s Ooki Futaba, she‘s been a grail of mine for a few years now so when i found her during my Berlin vacation in a local store for retail price i couldn’t believe my eyes. From the ones that released this year it’s probably Good Smiles Melia with Alters Formidable being a close second! Melia is one of the best executed figures i’ve seen good smile do.. maybe i’m a bit biased since she’s my favorite xeno girl but i still think almost everyone would agree on that she’s beautiful! My Azur Lane knowledge is kind of surface level but the moment i saw Formidable painted i knew i had to have her. And while she definitely was a bit expensive i still have to say she‘s worth every cent to me, her hair and dress sculpt are beyond amazing and i can’t stop staring at her ever since she arrived. Komeijis price is a crime and i just hope freeing won’t make any of my fav touhou girls in the future… as for gon i think it’s actually outrageous, their pricing this month was so ridiculous i didnt even know whether i should laugh or cry and i‘m not even someone who‘s interested in their b-style line… I can also still see japanese shops getting aki, for some cn manufacturer figures it does take a few weeks to months till non cn shops have them for preorder, for example ningguang back then took about 2 months! But we have to wait and see i guess. As always thank you for you hard work on these videos! I always look forward to your uploads :-)
i dont really mind if you talk about nendos or not, I know you already spend a lot of time making the content but possibly could do something like a nendo summary at the end where you quickly go through each of them for like 10-15 secs each or something. have been so tempted to get the Ariel figure (she's a spider so the tentacle like cape is like the legs on a spider kind of thing i think) but dont know where she would fit in my collection so probs gna pass on her :( hehe Rei tentative name is from Evangelion 3.0 :) hmm i'd say some of my favourites for 2022 is 1/4 FREEing Yuna from Kuma Bear and the 1/7 Wings inc Hatsuaki (previous name Shoshuu). great vid and cant wait to see your 2023 PO's!!
My favorite figure of 2022 hands down, no contest, why did they even bother making other figures when this one exists, is the Yu-Gi-Oh! VS Series Dark Side of Dimensions Seto Kaiba by MegaHouse. Previous Kaiba figures have always looked a bit off to me, kinda having that uncanny valley vibe to them, but this figure blows them all out of the water. Not only does Kaiba himself just look amazing (and I'd honestly be happy with just him alone) but no, he comes with his Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon materializing out of the shattering holographic background stand and coiling around him. The dynamic pose, details, and just overall presence this figure exudes definitely makes it my choice for number one of 2022....even despite the crippling blow to my wallet. But true to the character, Kaiba Corp products ain't cheap.
@@ZuccoFigures I had absolutely to get him. Kaiba is my favorite anime character of all time so it was a day one pre-order for me. All together with shipping he came out to just under 64,000 yen and is my most expensive single figure I own to date that's not a resin statue. But it makes the dopamine in my brain go brrrr whenever I admire him so it's worth it lol
My favorite figure of this year has to be Alter's Flandre. I recently got into Touhou this year and did start with Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. Flandre kicks my ass of course, but I really adore her design and simple character. That said, I was not ready for Alter's figure. It completely blew me away and despite its high tag I'm biting the bullet. I know for a fact it'll be hard to get after release so I'm gonna save myself a little trouble. If we're talking about already released figures, then I have to give props to Spiritale's Korone for being so cute and looking pretty 1-to-1 with both the prototype and the art of the doggo they based it on.
Yeah, I wasn't particularly interested in collecting full cast-off figures but the Erofu Luna elf figure was too aesthetically pleasing for me not to pre-order. I also could use a figure with a solid sitting pose such as hers. Though, I'm curious about her cushion base, if it's going to remain a plain white cushion or not. Vibrastar released some nun girl not too long ago that was received with good reception, so I can't say that I'm worried about the quality of Erofu Luna
My favorite figure of the year was eStream’s Rimuru Ultimate Ver. Just started collecting last year and it was one of the first figures I fell I love with when I first started browsing. I assumed I wouldn’t ever get it due to the price tag but kinda bought it impulsively (story of my life) when the yen started weakening more. Definitely felt like a risk at the time knowing eStream’s reputation but the thrill of buying my first grail was too much to pass on it. The paint work is superb and I especially love how dynamic the pose is.
My favorite figure release of 2022 was definitely 100% good smile company’s 1/7 evanthe Lazy Afternoon version from Red pride of Eden, There were so many great figures that came out last year and last year was the first year that I started seriously collecting figures before that I just picked up figures at conventions and at my local manga store and trust me last year was such a loaded year there were so many great releases and so many iconic figures but this one in particular really stood out to me… I really love girly things and this figure just screamed inner me I have an entire pink themed room and she fits my entire aesthetic so well, The base is so cute with the stuffed animals and the laptop and gaming equipment I love the way that her hair is sculpted and the colors that are used and the cute lingerie set she's wearing, Not to mention her wonderfully peaceful face she looks so pleased but at the same time so relaxed like how I feel when I'm lazing around in my bed on a boring rainy day also I'm the biggest simp for fluffy bases so this one really screamed out my name not to mention the retail price for her wasn't that bad at least in my opinion For what you were getting and definitely that helps out my crying wallet with all the pre-orders I have lmaoooo, good smile arts shanghai really never misses :D

I think no doubt you could get some response to that. all my pickups fire but most impressive is senran kagura 1/4 nurse from may but i got 2 other 1/4s and might recreate a doctor's office set
It sounds like a good idea, though I think for this upcoming video it would make me feel bad if people didn't see a follow-up response asking for photos and missed out. It's something I'd definitely consider in the future though
I got some really nice figures this last year but I think an easy winner was the estream Gojo from JJK. I know this was a popular figure with a lot of people but I am just floored with how good it looks for the price. Less than $200 with shipping and he is an easy stand out in any collection. I did get the monochrome because I loved the dark colors but I definitely understand why people preferred the full color. My only gripe is the foot peg is plastic and not metal. Honorable mention goes to the Joker and Aketchi figures that came out by mega house. I know a lot of people slept on those figures but they came out so much better than their images implied. Possibly one of the best Joker's on the market and easily the best Aketchi. They nailed his face. I do think you need to get them together though so not as cost friendly.
I’ve played Fire Emblem Heroes for a few years in the past but I’m not a huge fan of Veronica, nor her figure’s face initially, too. However, I ended up caving in and preordering her a few days ago because it just looks way too cool imo and I felt I’d probably regret not getting her. Also, I know it’s basic but I was super excited to get the human (new moon) version of Inuyasha’s Pop Up Parade figure this year…I’ve noticed Pop Up Parades can be hit or miss but that one (both of his, really) were instant hits for me.
Don't worry about the things you like not being super impressive/expensive or whatever. They make all these different figures for a reason and if they resonate with you then that's awesome. Some of my favorite collectables aren't extravagant, like that big mr saturn on the shelf behind me is a crane game figure. Like yeah it's pretty big and looks nice for what it is, but technically it was like 30-40 bucks back then? Probably more these days, but that's just the aftermarket doing it's thing.

Honestly i think the Genshin Impact Mona figure might be my favourite of the year, it was affordable and a great ass sculpt. It's hard for me not to pick it as my fav for 2022.
My top 3 figures of the year were Mia Karnstein (Code Vein - Good Smile Company) / Texas (Arknights - Good Smile Company) / Wu Xie (Time Raiders - Good Smile Company). Tough top 3 because there were so many good ones this year, but those 3 are the ones that constantly catch my eye in my collection
My faves of 2022 are Taito’s Coreful Nanachi, for a prize figure they’re really high quality and look far better than the PUP imo (though the PUP isn’t yet released, but it’s far more expensive than Taito’s) Union Creative’s Kokichi Oma, out of all their current Danganronpa figures he’s the best one, also helped that the rerelease was only 10 yen more costly, and despite him being a major AH, the sitting pose makes you wanna gently hold it. Sadly he sits a bit crooked, not a game breaker though since you hardly see it. You do however see that they didn’t paint his checkered scarf cleanly. Still he’s one of my favorite characters and currently doesn’t have any other non chibi figures out (wich those are also hard to find now) The absolute best of 2022 for me was Flare’s 9S (NieR automata) deluxe version, wich comes with his pod, both blindfolded and unblindfolded heads and shorts of version (meaning he got the same treatment like 2B…Gender Equality yay!) I display him with his pants on however, the only reason I bought the deluxe at all was to be able to display him with his eyes, wich look very good, his whole face does. He’s also really tall (27 cm) and his skin… kinda does feel like real skin. And despite his outfit being mostly black, Flare didn’t cheap out on the details, I’d even say he’s better in sculpt than 2B, especially the hair. (If you know where to look, you can also get him for 100 bucks used, wich I did) 10/10 RECOMMEND!
The power figure by Amakuni recently put up for preorder, I like quite a lot but at 27k yen that price is destroying me. Not to mention their re-release of some of their other Persona figures even if I do have to wait until 2024.
Neonmax so far is a hit or miss. 58:33. I seen the irl twitter display of her and its face atrocious as it looks nothing like the promo photos. Then you got the Azur Lane Ying Swei figure that they did which I currently have and its a godlike 10/10 A+ customer service figure. Maybe atm steer clear of their OC figures and buy the licenced figures instead.
As far as the bien figure, I wonder if the person took those photos with their phone. It could be auto-applying a filter over the figure and making it look more strange. I wonder if it would look different in a video. The Muse Dash bunny Rin is definitely not highly detailed. I expect similar quality for Mariya, but it's cute regardless. I love the game and have Rin already, so I have to pick Mariya up.
After making this video I've seen some other photos that didn't look as bad. I probably shouldn't have talked about the figure after judging it from just one set of photos, but it was just so drastically different that I was really surprised at the time

The QuesQ Artorias Alter is perfection, it is expensive but you can clearly tell why. In contrast the Freeing Gon, which is MORE EXPENSIVE (Artoria 65780 - Gon 66000) and its lke.. nah dude, nah, that sh*ts a straight up scam.
Yeah you aint wrong. Gon is just big. Looks ok but FREEing's gimmick of BIG THING isn't really a selling point to me which is why the only bunny figure I own is of Taiga

I'm guessing youtube ate my comment due to links, so attempt #2. I bought Amakuni Aloe, but Aqua is a big miss for me.. I'm done with figures that are more base than the figure, it's just not worth it imo, you either gotta display them alone or they look like a mess on the shelves. Especially all the goo looking or random particle shapes stuff. I feel like you're actually getting very little figure for the money in this case, it's a bit upsetting. My best of 2022 would probably be Mauve by Rocket Boy, decent quality, the chocolate base compliments the figure very well and she's nice from various angles. She's just very easy to like, nothing daring or polarizing about it. Honorable mention to Strongers blonde Kizuna Ai, the blonde hair makes her stand out from the rest, the pose is exciting and every piece of the outfit is fire. Quality is really good too.
I have been on the fence about that Killua 1/4 scale since it hit pre-orders. I love Killua and I think the figure looks really good. However, with GSC's shipping it's $400 and I'm trying to save up for a new computer. The main thing I am wrestling with is FOMO and the relative rarity of Hunter x Hunter figure releases.
Despite me wanting eden figures, Im going to have to decline time time as I just bought a pc... so Im hoping some nearby 2nd hand seller will be regretting their purchase and selling them in the future. unlikely, but i gotta do what i gotta do.
I know this is an older video but I hope you will read my feedback regarding this issue. I have noticed (alongside your channel as well) that a lot of youtubers have stopped covering nendo preorders. To a figure collector who cannot afford the super expensive scales I look forward to actually seeing figures that I can afford at the most point. I don't want to have to unsubscribe to any of these channels but to be honest it is a little disheartening not to see things within my spending budget. You mentioned in this video that you might stop showing nendos in the preorder roundup and recently it seems to be the case. I don't mean to sound emotional I just wish more creators created content relatable to EVERYONE.
The reason I stopped talking about Nendoroids was partially due to the sheer amount of them. Lately these videos have about 70 or so figures that I try and talk about, but with Nendos that would bump up to closer to 90 or even more. These videos are a marathon for me to record as the industry continues to make more and more figures each month and its turned more into work than a fun little project. I pivoted to pop up parades as they are easier to talk about while still covering budget options. I've learned that I can't please everyone with these videos but I get where you are coming from. I just haven't really found out a way to talk about Nendos without just going down a checklist of what they come with, which makes me feel like im doing something wrong. So it's not that I've forgotten about em, but right now I'm just unsure how to proceed.
@@ZuccoFigures As a subscriber, I have a suggestion. Not that it might have much merit but thought I would try lol. Why not make a shorter, separate video for nendo preorders? That way you don't have to rush them into the current video AND it does not have to be recorded on the same day. Around the first month focus on scale figs and I would even go on to suggest that you group both Pop Up Parades and nendos in the middle of the month? That way different audiences can choose their content to watch and you don't loose any viewers 😊
As far as I'm concerned I would like u to talk abt nendoroids, but I'll still watch ur videos regardless of whether u talk abt them or not. Maybe u could go over them quickly at the end of ur vids so that ppl who aren't interested can sinoly click of a few minutes early

Nendos are Nendos, not worth the time. If people really want them, maybe a speed run section. I don't think its needed go into details of each one, unless they are especially bad or something haha.

That Atelier artist sure has made a name for themselves, right up there with Raita at this point. Truly an iconic style. As for favorite figure I bought this year? Technically I pre-ordered Passionlip by QuesQ last year, but she released this year. So I'll count that. She's the reason I started collecting, and will remain a jewel just by her sheer size and extremely unique design. Not sure how versed you are in Fate but she is the "sister" of Meltlilth(penguin girl). While Melt is a leg fighter, Lip is a hand/claw fighter.

I'm a more modest figure collector each year, so although I enjoy watching many different figure collectors here on UA-cam, I only purchase about 1-3 and maybe a few nendo dolls. So my favorites are pretty limited, but I chose to purchase the Ques Q Holo and I believe she was my favorite this year. She may not be flashy, but I've struggled to find a Holo that had the right face (they always mess up the face in my opinion) and her lively nature present in both the manga and anime. This one just represents joy to me, she looks so happy and how her dress hugs her body is so tasteful w/ out making it the focus point. Her base is also lovely. I'm extremely happy w/ my purchase!

Sadly he is hard to find. Good smile US already sold out and he isn't on their international site at all. I think unless he gets a 2nd wave or you can get him through a proxy server than it is gonna be pricey to pick him up. Sad because I actually really wanted him.

Second: My favorite 2022 figure is Lappland Elite II 1/7 Premium ver. She is one of my favorite Arknights characters and APEX Toys did a fine job on recreating her Elite 2 artwork and her price was the cherry on the top($160) I'm pretty sure if this was a FurYu or an Alter figure would have cost over $300.
Favorite I'm going to have to go with is Riela Marcellis 1/7 Scale.
Personally, I really enjoy your comments on Nendoroids. However, I will say that it's not an absolute must to discuss them since most Nendoroids do well to portray the character. If you're a Nendoroid collector like myself and see a character you like from the original material, it's almost a given you'll pick it up. Scales on the other hand can be hit or miss depending the sculp. Overall, I would still love to hear your comments regarding Nendoroid releases but can definitely understand the focus on scales. Regardless, I'm here for the content. Also, that Erofu-Luna is absolutely gorgeous. Very tempting to pick it up but just can't go through with it.
Sometimes I feel like I'm just running through the accessories when I talk about em. Unless I'm up to date with the series it can be tough to think of anything to say, but I still like em and feel like they're a pretty big part of the hobby. Maybe if I just dedicated some time to a few of the best and then just list the rest of the notable ones it could work, but yeah I'm just thinkin outloud
My favourite figure this year definitely was the Ningguang 1/7 scale
I don't mind not talking about nendos in the roundups, maybe if there's something specific to say about one or two if you want to, but is not really necesary. Whatever makes you feel more comfortable making videos and don't drain you is great
This year actually didn't get so many new figures (mostly hunting old figures, that I can buy now because I have more income), and a lot of them were delayed to this year, or were pre-ordered on TOM (still waiting for my TOM figures from months ago).
I guess my favorite new figure I got this year has to be the Kaibutsu Shoujo Pelecanus 1/7, from Luminous Box, I have her displayed with my Wisteria Night Hag Lilith from Myethos and they are perfect together!
Second or third time I saw the pelican girl mentioned here. She's super unique and I definitely see the appeal

Out of this line up, I really like the Ariel Amakuni figure. For such a simple figure, it does catch your eye. And I love the Albedo figure, it's in my wishlist and I'm just waiting for that weak moment when I actually pre-order it, since I've been waiting for it's pre-order for what feels like forever. But I feel like I'm battling space, and I'm close to getting to that point where I need to start boxing up figures to make space for new figures... or get another display case (which I have been trying not to do).
But great walkthrough, these kinds of videos are dangerous, since they remind me of some figures that I forgot to preorder. 😆
The good thing about Spiritale figures is that they're like always available on Amiami so I'd say there's no rush if you gotta think things over. To be fair alot of my collection isn't displayed which sucks, but I guess I've gotten used to it. I need to move again anyway so I'm not really stressing it, but it also helps me filter out figures I no longer care about so that's a positive, I guess lol

As someone who is not interested in Nedoroids, or any other posable figures, I prefer to not include them but putting them at the beginning or end of the video is fine as well so it is easy to skip.

In response to the best 2022 figures I have 2 of them. First one would be Good Smile Company's Saber/Mordred Clarent Blood Arthur figure. She is my favorite Fate character and I love both the face sculpt they did for her with her ready to fight and the cool fighting pose she's in being ready to swing her sword. However, this figure was a pain in the ass to assemble because of the tiny armor pieces I had to put in the back of her armor and they were just not fitting in well with the holes you had to slide them in to. Also the lighting piece to put in for one of her swappable swords was giving me an anxiety attack since I felt I was going to break something. There were just a lot of parts to this figure that wasn't easy to put in with the figure and it's definitely made me more cautious buying figures with dynamic poses since I feel they might be more tough to assemble than others.
The other figure I love so much that came out this year is Wave's Tsuki Uzaki Cow Pattern Bikini figure from Uzaki-Chan. The figure was easy to assemble, Tsuki's embarrassed look with the cow bikini outfit is both adorable and sexy, and I especially love the fluffy base it comes with. I want to see more figures tackle making these kinds of bases because I think it's pretty cool to brush your fingers on a character base. Just gives it extra value for something I never knew I'd like imo.
My Nr.1 figure i got this year is probably Flare‘s Ooki Futaba, she‘s been a grail of mine for a few years now so when i found her during my Berlin vacation in a local store for retail price i couldn’t believe my eyes.
From the ones that released this year it’s probably Good Smiles Melia with Alters Formidable being a close second!
Melia is one of the best executed figures i’ve seen good smile do.. maybe i’m a bit biased since she’s my favorite xeno girl but i still think almost everyone would agree on that she’s beautiful!
My Azur Lane knowledge is kind of surface level but the moment i saw Formidable painted i knew i had to have her. And while she definitely was a bit expensive i still have to say she‘s worth every cent to me, her hair and dress sculpt are beyond amazing and i can’t stop staring at her ever since she arrived.
Komeijis price is a crime and i just hope freeing won’t make any of my fav touhou girls in the future…
as for gon i think it’s actually outrageous, their pricing this month was so ridiculous i didnt even know whether i should laugh or cry and i‘m not even someone who‘s interested in their b-style line…
I can also still see japanese shops getting aki, for some cn manufacturer figures it does take a few weeks to months till non cn shops have them for preorder, for example ningguang back then took about 2 months! But we have to wait and see i guess.

My favorite figure of 2022 hands down, no contest, why did they even bother making other figures when this one exists, is the Yu-Gi-Oh! VS Series Dark Side of Dimensions Seto Kaiba by MegaHouse. Previous Kaiba figures have always looked a bit off to me, kinda having that uncanny valley vibe to them, but this figure blows them all out of the water. Not only does Kaiba himself just look amazing (and I'd honestly be happy with just him alone) but no, he comes with his Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon materializing out of the shattering holographic background stand and coiling around him. The dynamic pose, details, and just overall presence this figure exudes definitely makes it my choice for number one of 2022....even despite the crippling blow to my wallet. But true to the character, Kaiba Corp products ain't cheap.
I am very jealous of anyone who has this figure, and it's even harder to get now that EMS prices are even more expensive lol
@@ZuccoFigures I had absolutely to get him. Kaiba is my favorite anime character of all time so it was a day one pre-order for me. All together with shipping he came out to just under 64,000 yen and is my most expensive single figure I own to date that's not a resin statue. But it makes the dopamine in my brain go brrrr whenever I admire him so it's worth it lol
the aqua bomber girl and violet myethos would look so good together but they are both so pricy x.x funny i went with the violet from the two

My favorite figure of this year has to be Alter's Flandre. I recently got into Touhou this year and did start with Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. Flandre kicks my ass of course, but I really adore her design and simple character. That said, I was not ready for Alter's figure. It completely blew me away and despite its high tag I'm biting the bullet. I know for a fact it'll be hard to get after release so I'm gonna save myself a little trouble. If we're talking about already released figures, then I have to give props to Spiritale's Korone for being so cute and looking pretty 1-to-1 with both the prototype and the art of the doggo they based it on.
We seem to share fairly similar taste. Can't wait for that flandre in a few months(hopefully)

Yeah, I wasn't particularly interested in collecting full cast-off figures but the Erofu Luna elf figure was too aesthetically pleasing for me not to pre-order. I also could use a figure with a solid sitting pose such as hers. Though, I'm curious about her cushion base, if it's going to remain a plain white cushion or not. Vibrastar released some nun girl not too long ago that was received with good reception, so I can't say that I'm worried about the quality of Erofu Luna
I would imagine the base will remain the white cushion, or at the very least because of her pose I'm not expecting any plastic base
My favorite figure of the year was eStream’s Rimuru Ultimate Ver. Just started collecting last year and it was one of the first figures I fell I love with when I first started browsing. I assumed I wouldn’t ever get it due to the price tag but kinda bought it impulsively (story of my life) when the yen started weakening more. Definitely felt like a risk at the time knowing eStream’s reputation but the thrill of buying my first grail was too much to pass on it. The paint work is superb and I especially love how dynamic the pose is.

My favorite figure release of 2022 was definitely 100% good smile company’s 1/7 evanthe Lazy Afternoon version from Red pride of Eden, There were so many great figures that came out last year and last year was the first year that I started seriously collecting figures before that I just picked up figures at conventions and at my local manga store and trust me last year was such a loaded year there were so many great releases and so many iconic figures but this one in particular really stood out to me… I really love girly things and this figure just screamed inner me I have an entire pink themed room and she fits my entire aesthetic so well, The base is so cute with the stuffed animals and the laptop and gaming equipment I love the way that her hair is sculpted and the colors that are used and the cute lingerie set she's wearing, Not to mention her wonderfully peaceful face she looks so pleased but at the same time so relaxed like how I feel when I'm lazing around in my bed on a boring rainy day also I'm the biggest simp for fluffy bases so this one really screamed out my name not to mention the retail price for her wasn't that bad at least in my opinion For what you were getting and definitely that helps out my crying wallet with all the pre-orders I have lmaoooo, good smile arts shanghai really never misses :D

I think no doubt you could get some response to that. all my pickups fire but most impressive is senran kagura 1/4 nurse from may but i got 2 other 1/4s and might recreate a doctor's office set
It sounds like a good idea, though I think for this upcoming video it would make me feel bad if people didn't see a follow-up response asking for photos and missed out. It's something I'd definitely consider in the future though
I got some really nice figures this last year but I think an easy winner was the estream Gojo from JJK. I know this was a popular figure with a lot of people but I am just floored with how good it looks for the price. Less than $200 with shipping and he is an easy stand out in any collection. I did get the monochrome because I loved the dark colors but I definitely understand why people preferred the full color. My only gripe is the foot peg is plastic and not metal.
Honorable mention goes to the Joker and Aketchi figures that came out by mega house. I know a lot of people slept on those figures but they came out so much better than their images implied. Possibly one of the best Joker's on the market and easily the best Aketchi. They nailed his face. I do think you need to get them together though so not as cost friendly.
I’ve played Fire Emblem Heroes for a few years in the past but I’m not a huge fan of Veronica, nor her figure’s face initially, too. However, I ended up caving in and preordering her a few days ago because it just looks way too cool imo and I felt I’d probably regret not getting her.
Also, I know it’s basic but I was super excited to get the human (new moon) version of Inuyasha’s Pop Up Parade figure this year…I’ve noticed Pop Up Parades can be hit or miss but that one (both of his, really) were instant hits for me.
Don't worry about the things you like not being super impressive/expensive or whatever. They make all these different figures for a reason and if they resonate with you then that's awesome. Some of my favorite collectables aren't extravagant, like that big mr saturn on the shelf behind me is a crane game figure. Like yeah it's pretty big and looks nice for what it is, but technically it was like 30-40 bucks back then? Probably more these days, but that's just the aftermarket doing it's thing.

Honestly i think the Genshin Impact Mona figure might be my favourite of the year, it was affordable and a great ass sculpt. It's hard for me not to pick it as my fav for 2022.
My top 3 figures of the year were Mia Karnstein (Code Vein - Good Smile Company) / Texas (Arknights - Good Smile Company) / Wu Xie (Time Raiders - Good Smile Company). Tough top 3 because there were so many good ones this year, but those 3 are the ones that constantly catch my eye in my collection
My faves of 2022 are Taito’s Coreful Nanachi, for a prize figure they’re really high quality and look far better than the PUP imo (though the PUP isn’t yet released, but it’s far more expensive than Taito’s)
Union Creative’s Kokichi Oma, out of all their current Danganronpa figures he’s the best one, also helped that the rerelease was only 10 yen more costly, and despite him being a major AH, the sitting pose makes you wanna gently hold it.
Sadly he sits a bit crooked, not a game breaker though since you hardly see it.
You do however see that they didn’t paint his checkered scarf cleanly.
Still he’s one of my favorite characters and currently doesn’t have any other non chibi figures out (wich those are also hard to find now)
The absolute best of 2022 for me was Flare’s 9S (NieR automata) deluxe version, wich comes with his pod, both blindfolded and unblindfolded heads and shorts of version (meaning he got the same treatment like 2B…Gender Equality yay!)
I display him with his pants on however, the only reason I bought the deluxe at all was to be able to display him with his eyes, wich look very good, his whole face does.
He’s also really tall (27 cm) and his skin… kinda does feel like real skin.
And despite his outfit being mostly black, Flare didn’t cheap out on the details, I’d even say he’s better in sculpt than 2B, especially the hair.
(If you know where to look, you can also get him for 100 bucks used, wich I did)

The power figure by Amakuni recently put up for preorder, I like quite a lot but at 27k yen that price is destroying me. Not to mention their re-release of some of their other Persona figures even if I do have to wait until 2024.

Neonmax so far is a hit or miss. 58:33. I seen the irl twitter display of her and its face atrocious as it looks nothing like the promo photos. Then you got the Azur Lane Ying Swei figure that they did which I currently have and its a godlike 10/10 A+ customer service figure. Maybe atm steer clear of their OC figures and buy the licenced figures instead.
As far as the bien figure, I wonder if the person took those photos with their phone. It could be auto-applying a filter over the figure and making it look more strange. I wonder if it would look different in a video.
The Muse Dash bunny Rin is definitely not highly detailed. I expect similar quality for Mariya, but it's cute regardless. I love the game and have Rin already, so I have to pick Mariya up.
After making this video I've seen some other photos that didn't look as bad. I probably shouldn't have talked about the figure after judging it from just one set of photos, but it was just so drastically different that I was really surprised at the time

The QuesQ Artorias Alter is perfection, it is expensive but you can clearly tell why. In contrast the Freeing Gon, which is MORE EXPENSIVE (Artoria 65780 - Gon 66000) and its lke.. nah dude, nah, that sh*ts a straight up scam.
Yeah you aint wrong. Gon is just big. Looks ok but FREEing's gimmick of BIG THING isn't really a selling point to me which is why the only bunny figure I own is of Taiga

I bought Amakuni Aloe, but Aqua is a big miss for me.. I'm done with figures that are more base than the figure, it's just not worth it imo, you either gotta display them alone or they look like a mess on the shelves. Especially all the goo looking or random particle shapes stuff. I feel like you're actually getting very little figure for the money in this case, it's a bit upsetting.
My best of 2022 would probably be Mauve by Rocket Boy, decent quality, the chocolate base compliments the figure very well and she's nice from various angles. She's just very easy to like, nothing daring or polarizing about it.
Honorable mention to Strongers blonde Kizuna Ai, the blonde hair makes her stand out from the rest, the pose is exciting and every piece of the outfit is fire. Quality is really good too.

I have been on the fence about that Killua 1/4 scale since it hit pre-orders. I love Killua and I think the figure looks really good. However, with GSC's shipping it's $400 and I'm trying to save up for a new computer. The main thing I am wrestling with is FOMO and the relative rarity of Hunter x Hunter figure releases.

I know this is an older video but I hope you will read my feedback regarding this issue.
I have noticed (alongside your channel as well) that a lot of youtubers have stopped covering nendo preorders. To a figure collector who cannot afford the super expensive scales I look forward to actually seeing figures that I can afford at the most point. I don't want to have to unsubscribe to any of these channels but to be honest it is a little disheartening not to see things within my spending budget. You mentioned in this video that you might stop showing nendos in the preorder roundup and recently it seems to be the case. I don't mean to sound emotional I just wish more creators created content relatable to EVERYONE.
The reason I stopped talking about Nendoroids was partially due to the sheer amount of them. Lately these videos have about 70 or so figures that I try and talk about, but with Nendos that would bump up to closer to 90 or even more. These videos are a marathon for me to record as the industry continues to make more and more figures each month and its turned more into work than a fun little project. I pivoted to pop up parades as they are easier to talk about while still covering budget options. I've learned that I can't please everyone with these videos but I get where you are coming from. I just haven't really found out a way to talk about Nendos without just going down a checklist of what they come with, which makes me feel like im doing something wrong. So it's not that I've forgotten about em, but right now I'm just unsure how to proceed.
@@ZuccoFigures As a subscriber, I have a suggestion. Not that it might have much merit but thought I would try lol. Why not make a shorter, separate video for nendo preorders? That way you don't have to rush them into the current video AND it does not have to be recorded on the same day. Around the first month focus on scale figs and I would even go on to suggest that you group both Pop Up Parades and nendos in the middle of the month? That way different audiences can choose their content to watch and you don't loose any viewers 😊

That's a good point. Since its kind of impossible to talk about everything anyway, I should worry less about it
That Atelier artist sure has made a name for themselves, right up there with Raita at this point. Truly an iconic style.
As for favorite figure I bought this year? Technically I pre-ordered Passionlip by QuesQ last year, but she released this year. So I'll count that. She's the reason I started collecting, and will remain a jewel just by her sheer size and extremely unique design. Not sure how versed you are in Fate but she is the "sister" of Meltlilth(penguin girl). While Melt is a leg fighter, Lip is a hand/claw fighter.
Yeah if you got it this year it counts. I like Fate but mostly just stick with the shows even though I like alot of the characters from Grand Order
