Oh man, I would love for you to venture the Zone and be a Stalker. I rarely see a Gamma series, and a series with a content creator as amazing as you, this would be an amazing thing to start. Heads up though, Gamma's progression is a bit harder compared to Anomaly. More scrounging and tactical approach. But once you've got the rhythm, I'm sure it'll be just another day in the Zone.
Also since you're starting in the Rookie Village, there's a storage box next to Fanatic on the wall next to the small underground shack you can dump the stuffs you don't need or the ones you plan to scrap. Take things slow. Walk more than you run, and toss bolts if you're unsure where the anomalies are. Sometimes you can hear them better than you can see them. You can drink water or any non-alcoholic drinks to clear out the dizzy effect after eating meds. Also remember the color of each faction's clothes. Bandits, like the one you fought mostly dress in black and grey. Keep your eyes out for their shirt and once you get a binocular, try to spot their faction patch.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R is such an awesome series! I saw that he posted this video and couldnt wait to watch it. Such an amazing game, many many fond memories of playing it!
Nice to see covering the new GAMMA release. Am the Audio dev here behind all the new anomaly inventory, weapons, mutants, weather, ambients, footsteps and more, 2 and half years of audio work which was rolling into G.A.M.M.A for its new release I'm glad it's gone to good use, I hope you enjoying the Stalker experience.
Some general tips in no particular order : -Vadulin is best kept for head and torso healing, Ibuprofen best kept for arms and legs. -Pills ca give you some dizziness effect. Horrible when you have a precision weapon. It can be countered by taking caffeine pills. -Carry little alcohol and favor cigarettes for curing radiation. They weigh less. -You can place any gear in any pre-existing stash and it'll save. You can use any backpack and create your own stash anywhere. -You'll want to keep parts that are over 60% durability. Over 60% means it can be cleaned and repaired up to 100% relatively cheaply. Between 10 to 59% is doable, but very expensive. Only doable in a situation where you really need that part and can't buy it. Under 10% is never repairable. -When crafting, the durability isn't always taken into consideration. So even a 0% armor part can be used to craft the better backpacks for example. Break them all down until you don't need them. -You need crafting kits for each gun to swap out the parts (handgun kit, rifle kit, armor kit, etc.) -Then, you need a bunch of maintenance parts (oils and such) which work at difference levels of disrepair : 30%+, 40%+ 60%+ etc.. The lower % they can repair at, the more expensive they are. it is MUCH better to keep maintaining your gear regularly at high durability. -You can ask random people to just join you for free and forever, just talk to them and see if the option is available. Use them as mules! Best way to increase your carry capacity in early game. -Iron-sights are very much better than hip shooting. To the point where hip shooting is only useful against really close mutants...at best. -You'll want to craft or buy an anomaly detector (its like a white tricorder from startrek). That will beep when you get close to anomalies...you'll thank me later! -Same goes for artifact detectors. There are tiers and the higher ones give better location information on the artifacts. VERY much easier once you get the better ones. -There are some gated crafting opportunities that will be unlocked by getting tools. Regular, advanced and expert IIRC. They are mostly found in stashes. Green stashes are better. Do NOT give all of your tool kits for missions. Keep at least one. Also drug kits, bullet kits, etc. -Ammunition is not the only factor for damage. A certain gun might have marginally better damage, though not a huge amount and certainly not early game all that much. -You can place a pistol in your top left slot (where binoculars could go), so you can have 3 guns. -Its recommended to use your mules to stash radioactive artifacts. Hehe. -Artefacts and certain items can be equipped on your belt slots on your armor. Different armor has different slots and can be improved with kits or at traders. Artifacts are of little consequence early game, but grab everything you can and eventually you'll be able to merge them together to improve their effectiveness up to 100% and then craft them into higher tiers of artifacts. -Tons more tips but this is a start!
@@SavageHenry777 They do! Still a better idea than hauling 3 bottles of vodka. It feels like the alcohols are for "oh crap" levels of radiation. Also, the dizziness and tiredness caused by alcohol is not desirable.
dont take this advice irl, taking drugs with concentrated caffeine is a very bad idea irl. also in the standard gamma experience (hard) the general durability of items is at around 30% or less, so dream on if you think you'll pick one up at 60% or more. guns do not offer any kind of modifiers for damage of any kind, only ammunition does. the condition of the barrel of the gun determines how much of that potential damage can be outputted, a borked barrel means your gun will be dishing out less of the total potential damage of a round (ie. 0% barrel means --99% damage). always keep your guns in good shape to avoid this. other parts of the gun dont necessarily need to be in top condition, but doing so keeps it from jamming and allows it to properly cycle rounds. a borked gas system for example will turn a semi-automatic SKS into a bolt action SKS.
Wanted to drop in and say that campfires will slowly heal you when lit, and sleeping post heals. I also recommend acquiring a sleeping bag, as you get better sleep in your own "bed". To pick it up, just open inventory and use the compression sack when near it. You can sleep anywhere, but be mindful that it doesn't protect you from emissions/psystorms/enemies. I hope to see you post another video! It's always fun to see someone in the midst of learning the mechanics.
Literally stands in radiation while explaining the health system and watches it slowly grow.. :D I totally didn't ever do that while digging through my inventory.
GNS, I absolutely adore the Stalker series. The mod capabilities of the Stalker Series is absolutely grand. The gunplay is so good. And Anomaly alone has so many modding and customizable options that make it great. So, continue the series, and have fun in the zone comrade!
the stalker series is amazing. Been a while since I last played but when I did I did the misery mod, which honestly really does live up to its name. xD Been looking forward to a new stalker game for like 8 years now and hopefully this is the year.
Hell yes continue . . .consider it is a very challenging game/mod considering the anomalies, and strength of the npc opposition. . . . you can turn down the level of grass that is rendered although the grass length looks good, its very hard to find the dead and loot. All the STALKER are my favorite and continue to give with all the mods.
The game is almost unrecognizable, I only remembered stuff when you went to that trader. The entrance is buried in my memory due to how many times I visited him.
Stalker is my favorite game. All of them (we don't speak of Clear Sky). I played through Anomaly twice, but never played Gamma. Just too much work to install. Hope we see A lot of this.
Been playing stalker series since 2008, so far i only played Anomaly vanilla and anomaly + escape from pripyat, i need to play gamma. If you make this into a series that would be really nice, i wish you clear skies ahead and as allways: "Good hunting Stalker". Tip 1: the box at 32:28 you can open that using a knife or shooting Tip 2: holding down the loot button will show all loot in the area, at least it was that way in anomaly vanila not sure in gamma. Tip 3: you can fave any item in your inv, they will appear at the top, if you fave all your ammo when you got a new weapon you can hover you cursor in that weapon and on the right it will highlight tha ammo for that weapon if you have.
Would love to see you continue the STALKER plays. I played all 3 with great gusto, and am waiting for the new one to drop with baited breath. Never heard of this mod, but looks intersting.
Do yourself a favour (if you have the time to play and to push through the steep learning curve of the mechanics) and get Anomaly with the GAMMA mod pack. Anomaly combines all the maps of the previous games and has its own story questlines. This is pretty much going to be the peak experience of the old stalker games because I would imagine that much of the modding community will switch their attention to Stalker 2 once it comes out.
Its amazing, what modders can pull out from a ~15 year old game. I play a similar modpack called Escape from Pripyat, it contains features from Escape from Tarkov and it is amazing. Im a big fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and this modpack give me the best Zone experience.
Absolutely perfect. I've always been interested in this game, but I'm terrible with mods and figuring out which version to use. What better solution than to just watch you play it instead!
The GAMMA mod pack for Stalker Anomaly makes it pretty easy and there is lots of support if there are problems. You should give it a go. It is the peak experience you will ever get with the original Stalker franchise.
Never heard of this game and it was a little confusing to watch for me for the first few minutes but I enjoyed the game play. I would definitely like to see another video of it. 👍
can you please explain to me how you get this game to run with such high graphics with all the grass without stuttering or giving you any issues? im running a 12700k with a 4080 and have issues i have been trying to dial it in but no luck so far, thanks
@@lukeairborne5552 grass density and render distance are the big fps killer, stalker/mutant population is also one of the heavy fps impact lower those settings and you should run good, also remember that xray engine uses 'only' a single core Don't try to just go to 'max' graphics preset, since the presets are meant for vanilla anomaly and not a modded anomaly with +300 addons, doesn't really matter in the end about the hardware of the user, it's just the problem with how the engine handles all the graphics shit and cpu usage
I'm kind of upset you want to learn the story and picked to play Gamma it's story is poo. For story you want to play the original games, not Gamma. Also I don't remember Gamma looking this bad
This notion has gone widespread in the community, the OG trilogy should've been given more appreciation. GAMMA and Anomaly are NOT the way to read the OG trilogy's story just because it got all locations from 3 games, but kids will be kids, they won't play through the trilogy due to their short attention span and only see GAMMA/Anomaly is the game that STALKER intended and only two modpack in Stalker modding scene due to the repair system, NATO/Tacticool weapons, COD/EFT-like graphics and it being free... But what do i know, almost all of other standalone mods are just horribly translated due to Cyrillic being wacky and translators with no effort (press the MTL button and done). STALKER 2 gonna be panned by GAMMA fans if its gameplay won't play the same as GAMMA's.
i really tried liking this modpack but i just cant, its so empty and dead. for instance in fallout 4, you walk in to a city and you find random npc's, enemies and a bunch of loot (most of it useless but still), in Gamma you find a group of enemies and thats it, no loot on the ground or in containers. Feels really dead.
Part two of tips : -Do not open packages you have in your inventory without pre-saving : you didn't notice but it was for a mission and you lost rep with that faction when you opened it. -You can strike those white & blue boxes, as well as wooden crates, for a chance for some loot. -AFAIK, the three stats will start to hurt you when they are low. 2 bars is definitely low. Hit enter and see if more info shows up, including low on food/water/sleep indicators.
Mate, im quite happy about you playing this amazing game, its very hard for beginners but later it gets good after you learn every mechanics and gameplay, tons of weapons and stuff to try out, a lille tip, always carry a shotgun for mutants and a rifle for men, always carry a ammo crafting case with you, disasembling old ammo and crafting the ones you uses more its a good tip too mate
OMG ! I can't believe u r playing this game !!! I'm in love with stalker since call of pripyet and now my fav youtuber is playing this game. Today is a good day indeed ! Edit- Btw, welcome to the zone stalker, may u live another day. Important tip- every time u complete a mission/assignment, sometimes u will be rewarded with a cache location. It contains good stuff most of the time.
I've never played Gamma and only EFP, can you tell me some differences between them? I didn't really notice any in the video aside from some medical items.
@@NagaSadow97 I think the most notable differences are meds (in Gamma you have temporary and permanent), then repairs (a bit more difficult to do that in Gamma) and you cannot buy any weapon in Gamma... Can't think of more, haven't played Gamma.
@@NagaSadow97 yeah I prefer EFP as well, for now at least (also do crazy Start with nothing) but tbh I'd like to have an option in EFP to forbid traders selling weapons - just to be forced to find one. :)
@@NagaSadow97 Yeah, biggest differences to my knowledge, haven’t played efp, please correct me if I’m wrong, is some weapons are exclusive to gamma and efp. As well as not having to worry about magazines in gamma, also you cannot buy armor or guns in gamma and have to repair them all, with traders only repairing a guns condition percentage and not repairing armors at all. Also stashes are empty and the only way to get loot from them is to buy a stash location from a trader (which can only give a stash below the red forest, meaning no expert tools), looting killed stalker’s bodies, or completing missions (which have a chance to give a stash location in a nearby zone). Sorry for the long read, just wanted to list everything that came to mind.
This is gonna be fun watching you learning it. You can also just hire some guys to help you (if you have reputation for it), so you don't need to drag safari noobs with you. But I'm usually doing that with Fanatic and using him as a loot mule :)
I really hope when stalker 2 comes out people arent like "ThEy DuMbEd It DoWn FoR cAsUaLs" since the only game they've played was gamma which is nothing like past Stalker Games
Oh no, I keep checking back to your channel hoping for more Stalker, but I fear alpha 21 will be here and take all of your time before you get into this game properly 😥
6:30 how do people find this stuff without knowing what things are? you should be super scared if you ever get the unlikely chance to have to defend yourself in real life. You sound american enough to know people close to you able to explain ammunition, guns and their mechanical parts (you can always google this)... you should learn a bit before spewing absolute nonsense.
You should try out road to eden next. Would be awesome to see you do a story themed playthrough of that. Sure the dev would give you a free key or two as well.
Absolutely love this game. You have jumped into the middle of what could be your worst nightmare. GAMMA is tuned/aimed toward making your time there very challenging. It is NOT really a good place to learn the STALKER series of games. I recommend you change over to STALKER ANOMALY, which is another set of mods, but much more beginner-friendly. GAMMA is hardcore, reduces critical resources even more, again IMO, not a place to learn STALKER. Regarding stashes, by default, if you put something in a storage chest anywhere, that storage chest will not despawn and the items you put in it will stay there safely. The npc's will not take anything from your storage chest. You don't HAVE to make a stash...
"You see there are these things called anomalies and you use these bolts to detect them..." *several minutes later* AGH! What was that ithurtsithurts...! Just walked into an anomaly..." *several more minutes later, running around without a care* OMG what was that?! OW! *another few minutes pass and there he goes, running off again...* xD
23:28 Nooo!! Dude ! Not many people know this but this was a Cat, and the first cat you meat will run up to you and you can pet it and it will be your permanent Companion and the other Cats wont attack you. Its not the best Companion , pretty fragile but it draws all the attention from Stalkers in a Fight, it even gets a Rank which is funny cause my Cat was like 2 Ranks above me for half the time lol. Anyway , dont shoot the first cat yoh meet. You only get one chance at this!.
Apparently I bought this 12 years ago (presumably cheaply) and have 31 mins of total play time, I guess it never quite landed for me. Having said that, up until a few months ago I was in the same position with 7 Days to Die and now I'm triple digits of hours played so there's still hope.
Tem, I love your channel and style of content but absolutely hate FPS games like this. They always feel very railroaded in storylines and limited on free roaming exploration, sorry man 🤷♂️
Just to let you know- there is a biiiig difference between Reborn Zone, the texture pack, and REBORN, the soup mod, I got incredibly confused by the title for a moment xD
Great Video. Thy. Did you just install Anomaly and Gamma or any special reshades? Besides of the integrated in Gamma? And if so which reshade you use? AtmosR?
Oooh nice love your content, look foward to this series too. You can make a good amount selling food and parts to the trader in Garabe at the train station. Least last I played it. Which was a loong time ago lol..got frustrated at not ever being able to find 5.56

Part two of tips :
-Do not open packages you have in your inventory without pre-saving : you didn't notice but it was for a mission and you lost rep with that faction when you opened it.
The new graphics in GAMMA 0.9 are amazing. Hard to believe how old this game is and that all of this is free and made by the community.
Yes please. STALKER (Anomaly, Gamma, EFP) is a great addition and I'd watch every minute of it on your channel.
@@azirus Ah okay thank you! This video made me want to play again but i guess i'll stick with EFP. Not being able to buy weapons is kinda not great.
I recommend hitting H, so you can see what buffs/debuffs you have. You were dying cuz of radiation. Water in swamps is very radiated.
Oh no, I keep checking back to your channel hoping for more Stalker, but I fear alpha 21 will be here and take all of your time before you get into this game properly 😥
What Shader are you using?
One of my favourite games of all time. This mod can be brutal but it really nails the atmosphere of the game perfectly. Glad to see you playing it!
Please make this a series, even 1 episode a month and I'd be happy! Your story telling and editing is always excellent!
Как приятно иметь иностранцев , играющих в сталкер.Новые люди+ развивающий моддинг
"You see there are these things called anomalies and you use these bolts to detect them..."
*several minutes later* AGH! What was that ithurtsithurts...! Just walked into an anomaly..."
*several more minutes later, running around without a care* OMG what was that?! OW!
*another few minutes pass and there he goes, running off again...* xD

Nooo!!
AtmosR?
Tem doing Stalker? Sign me up and toss me in the Zone, baby.
Good luck, Stalker. The Zone is full of opportunity, but never mistake it as kind.
...and don't think I didn't see those 'special' magazines in your inventory! You might want to blur those out before UA-cam catches wind!
One of my all-time go to survival games. Keep up surviving 👍
Oooh nice love your content, look foward to this series too.
You can make a good amount selling food and parts to the trader in Garabe at the train station. Least last I played it. Which was a loong time ago lol..got frustrated at not ever being able to find 5.56
Now we’re talking!! STALKER is life. The hole is deep with mods.
