Thank you Erin for creating this tutorial. I was able to create an icon link to return to the table of contents to each of my pages. Very helpful in a 262 page document!
Hi Erin, thanks for all your great videos! Can you tell me how to copy and entire page that has multiple links already on it and have those links still work on the copied page?
this does not work. I used the link function. Ctrl+click only allows editing the function of the link. There is no way i have to insert hundreds of the same link over every single page. There has to be a practical solution. using most recent 2023 version of Acrobat pro at time of writing this.
Erin, thanks for this. I have a 400-page technical book for a small audience. I have wanted fro some time to add a footer link to the contents page. This works great, but since it is a link, wouldn't it be appropriate to underline the text. I don't see how to do that unless you have an idea for me. Thanks again.
Hello, Bill. That is a great question! I am not aware of a way to directly underline the text in buttons. However, if you select a border color in the Appearance tab of the Button Properties dialog box, you can then select Underlined from the Line Style menu. This will underline the button, not the text. But, if you reduce the size of the button (but not the text), you can (sort of) get the line to look like it is under the text. If I find a better solution, I will be sure to published something about it. I wish you all the best with your PDF project!
thank you dear Erin. I did that as you said before but it doesn't work on mobile phone. while if i add link it will work on mobile, but the problem is that for link there is no duplicate across pages. could you please help me to find a way to have a link or button that works on mobile on every page? my pdf file has 100 pages so its hard to do that ,manually. thatnk you
Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, the mobile version doesn't currently offer a way to duplicate links. I encourage you to share feedback with Adobe so they know this would be a good feature to add.
Hi, how would you duplicate an internal link for an element not text across the pages? Currently I don’t see any way to do this. 🥲I’m going page by page and adding the hyperlinks.
Thank you so much for watching! Can you share a bit more about the element involved in the link, i.e., are you linking from the element or to the element?
is it possible to copy and paste the hyperlink go to page (ex: on index page 1 when i clicked it, it moves to page 1) is that possible to duplicate that? sorry for my english
Great question! I am currently unaware of a way to copy links in such a way in Adobe Acrobat, other than to create each link manually. However, if you have Microsoft Word, you can duplicate links (e.g., every time "page 1" appears it links to page 1). So, if you have Word, you can then convert the Word document to a PDF and the links should appear in the PDF.
Hi Erin. I did this and when I open the PDF in Xodo there is a blue box where the button is even though I chose no fill color on appearance. This box does not appear on goodnotes. How do I get rid of it?
Thank you for watching! The features created with Adobe Acrobat may not work in other PDF software, so I'm afraid I don't have a solution. You may want to contact Xodo support directly. I wish you the best!
Hi! I'm having an issue that I can't seem to find an answer to. I used your video tutorial to create hyperlinks within my PDF as I have 500+ pages to duplicate links for. This was super helpful! However when I open my PDF outside of Adobe, the links aren't clickable anymore. I've been researching how to turn on the interactive rich media when I download but nothing seems to work! Any insights? Thank you in advance!
I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue. I can't be sure what is causing the problem; however, one thing to try is to select Edit > Preferences > General > Create links from URLs > OK, and then resave the PDF. I hope that helps!
@@erinwrightwriting Thank you for your suggestions! I tried that and the "create links from URLs" was already clicked. I also tried taking it off but that didn't do anything either. I had created a digital journal in Canva and then uploaded the PDF into Adobe which is when I did all of my links. After I download the PDF, It shows a pointer finger when I hover over my links but nothing happens when I click.. I'm sure it's probably something simple. If you have any other thoughts let me know! I'll keep looking.
@@JahAndSeba If you are seeing the pointer finger, then I think we're getting close to a solution. If you are on a PC, have you tried pressing the Ctrl key while selecting the link?
@@erinwrightwriting I think I figured it out! Last night Adobe did a weird malfunction and I thought I lost my entire document. I think it somehow messed with my links because when I add new hyperlinks with rich media it works. Unfortunately, that means I'll need to redo all of my links. Thanks for your help! I appreciate it
