I want to thank you so much I used your apple cobbler recipe and also your cornbread dressing recipe my family loved both of them they are DELICIOUS!!! Thank you again and HAPPY HOLIDAYS xoxo
Rosie, that looks good enough to dive into it! I like what you did to the pre made crust to make it look homemmade and rustic, they are every bit as good as homemade. Thanks for sharing -dave
I have looking online for the last week to find an Apple cobbler that wasn't loaded with cinnamon (I saw one with the same amount of Apple's as your cobbler but twice the sugar, no nutmeg & 3 Tablespoons of cinnamon - yikes). I'm currently kicking myself for not checking your blog earlier, you have never steered me wrong, lol! Thanks for everything that you do -MM
+Robert Lewis In my opinion...yes, you could, but golden delicious apples (very aptly named and probably my favorite to just eat all by itself!) seem to soften a lot more than granny smith when cooked and I think the tartness of granny smith is a good contrast to the sweet from the sugar. When making pies I like to mix granny smith with something like gravenstein or gala.
it doesn't have to have a bottom crust it depends on your preference but we looooove crust it's one of the best parts of the cobbler lol have a good day.
I made your peach cobbler with homemade crust and it was so good that I want to try this apple cobbler next. Is the filling in this recipe enough for the crust in the homemade peach cobbler crust recipe? Or do I need to double this filling recipe?
I have Thanksgiving dessert duty, as directed by my Mom and three sisters. This is a perfect never-seen addition, and I have some child appreciated animal shaped cookie cutters that I will use. Love your apple corer, much better than mine. I'm also doing a light graham cracker layered strawberry shortcake in a huge pan. I've found over the years, a light dessert is appreciated after a heavy meal. Thanks so much, you add to my Atlanta birthplace food appreciation.
Also I don't really like store bought crust..so can I use the crust that you made for your Grandma's Southern Peach Cobbler and make it that way instead of in a pie????
hi rosie i wanna make a cheesecake tonignt i 'll use the apple filling of your recipe for the topping would you do that thx so much for all the recipe that you share thx to you i became famous of my cooking . Soory for the english ,i 'm french i think that i have already told you that be4r
