i purchased one of these with a small 10 gallon kiddie pool for the water. I add a 5 gallon bucket of sun warmed water and then 5 gallons of pump water in the pool then use the shower pump. i put a sock around the pump as an external filter. works fine for me Ii use an old boom microphone stand to prop the shower head on while in use. and when done it all fits inside the kiddie pool for storage. It is stashed away for hurricane season and i hope i don't have to use it this year.
I went ahead and ordered one of these after watching a review. I then reinforced entire length of the tubing with some strips of gorilla tape starting with the sections of the tubing that were prone to thinking when it was rolled up and stowed. I then incased the tubing with some flexible wire conduit to further increase its durability. It should last a while now and it works well. Thanks for the demo!
I came here looking for actual demo of water flow. I intend to use it to wash off my boat’s anchor after pulling it up from muddy waters. I like this model because it is all integrated. Some of the other ones have a separate power pack and an extra cord to manage. This one can easily be deployed and then coiled back up for storage in the anchor locker for next time. Thanks for the review.
Depending on pressure and runtime, it seems handy for any place where you might want to transfer water. Food crop irrigation, flood water removal, Sawyer Squeeze filters, solution injection into water supply, ...etc. (and taking a shower even...lol) Basically an answer to the SAWC of carrying a bilge pump and 12v battery. But light weight, durable, inexpensive...pick two only. Lol.
Looks like a good piece of kit to me, I would like to see a follow up video after extended use before I decide to get one. I would try it for the price if the durability (ruggedness) was better. thanks for the video and your time showing it to us.
I have this exact model, but with different branding (even down to the little bit of thread/string attached to the plug lol). It works well enough, just put it in a big pot and mix the hot and cold water to preference, then let it go. One little bonus is that it has LEDs that show the charging status of the battery unit in the shower (blue = charging, red = fully charged). I've used it quite a few times now and had no issues with it. Dependent on how big your water vessel is, and the shape of it (narrow tall ones seem to be better than wide shallow ones), I recommend using it to rinse the body, stop it, and lather up, then power it on again to rinse off (not due to battery power, but due to the flow rate it has, it empties a big soup style pot, around 18 litres or so in minutes). Anyway, I previously used one of those hand powered pressurised showers (www.clasohlson.com/uk/Hozelock-Camping-Shower/40-6912) and much prefer the electrical one over this. I would agree with you that it needs to be ruggedised a wee bit and the switch put on the head. Other than that it seems solid enough for what I've used it for.
Wouldn't be to bad to keep around for when the power or water fails, having 'instant pressure to shower' would be valuable for all those that do not have a washcloth. ;)
Dig a hole , line with plastic house wrap and fill with rain water, or box stove water...drop in a couple of hot rocks to maintain the heat...voila...bush bath..lol cheers
would be great so you can bring the dishwater to where you can comfortably do the dishes, rather than leaning in to the lake and worrying about getting your shoes wet
I'm thinking to get it primarily for comfort-type uses. It's not a "need" really, but in a grid-down situation, it would be such a comfort to have at least some semblance of a normal shower.
Idea - take along a tough trash bag. Dig a hole in ground use trash bag as a liner. Fill hole with trash bag and water. Then use large lightweight pot to heat water using camp stove or ground fire. Repeat heating water from trash bag filled with water using water from the hole you filled. It only takes about ten minutes to heat up about 10 gallons from the hole of water. Heat water dump in hole, reheat, dump, reheat dump, get it? Then put pump in water. You will have tons of HOT water this way!
If that USB rechargeable portable shower had the on/off switch mounted on the shower-head I'd buy one for my primitive dear camp. Maybe I'll buy one anyways and hack a remote switch onto it to keep the cost down... Thanks for the video.
interesting little shower, it brings up some thoughts about other possible uses other than a shower, if it could work with a longer hose it may be a viable option for "foraging" underground fuel tanks or just a small pump in general.
I happen to own this shower and I like it. It works great. If you happen to buy one and run it without submerging it in water, you will wreck it (common sense).
I don't know about use for BOB or camping but I live in an apartment and had water turned off or stop working for a day or two. This might be a good backup for the family can still take a "normal " shower before work or school.
I ended up buying a 4 gallon backpack pump sprayer and built my own extensions and attachments. The system serves as a manual pressured shower, a bidet, or for a bleach sprayer in the case of a bio event.
+Canadian Prepper LMAO!!! IKR? Godda keep our groups hygienically sound! Cases of Charlie CHAPlin thighs or Salmon-ass reduces effectiveness and productivity in a SHTF world!
A hot shower is one of the things I will miss the most when it goes high and to the right... As a family man looking back on this video have you come up with any ideas for a how shower since?
Canadian Prepper I've added hot water to mine when there is no sun just to take a shower. Still doesn't require batteries. Dang, fingers having trouble with the keys tonight.
Excellent for washing dirty dog's feet. Been looking for something like this for a long time. I like the idea that you are not limted to a certain size refillable tank. Pump can go into any siize water source. Would also be great for hanging off a dock and cleaning fish away from main residence without attracting all the flies close to the water source at your hiouse.
I'm not sure it would be too useful. It would take up quite a bit of space in your camping supplies and it is more of a luxury. At home the garden hose with a spray adapter works just fine so I can't see where it would be useful. I suppose if there is somewhere your hose won't reach, then this might be a plant watering option [however, a watering can works just fine].
My parents water heater has been busted now for over two weeks. They’re having issues finding a compatible model to work with how their house is wired. They suspect it will take another two weeks .. making that a whole month without working warm water.. this little gadget will come in handy! I’m gonna order it for them so at least they can wash up relaxed with this and their boiled pots of warm water 🚿.. I’ve offered them to use my shower at my place, but they are shy I guess .. lol 😆 so they’ve been using the hose outside. 😔
It's a shame that it doesn't have an on/off switch on the handle. It ran for 90 seconds...but in real life, you wouldn't have the water running that whole time. If it had the on/off switch, this would be an awesome product
I'm not sure I'm a fan of this. A bit too many cons and things to break, IMO. There are some other, much simpler portable showers that I think would be better. But great, thorough, honest review!
Careful with reviews from UA-camrs people. This is sponsored and the manufacturer gives a better variant to the UA-camr. Yes, that's how scumbaggy they are. (think as in a better pump to increase flow, build 10, send to UA-camrs and voila) There are over 20 different brands and companies who sell these showers in different colors, all from the same factory in China. It's not durable, as in multi season use. I've read half a dozen, non-sellout reviews like in this video, and they all said it broke/something melted within 6 months. This is dynamic though as you might get lucky, some last forever, some break first use. As always, most stuff from china is always a gamble.

Tom M Well, I am not too worried about recharge cycles, the odds of my using this for the 300-500 charge cycles would mean about 3000 showers, unlikely to ever approach that. What concerns me most is its durability and whether the parts will hold up long enough so that the battery has something to power!
Isn't his is more of a luxury than a requirement? :D If I had one and didn't have to carry it, using it for rinsing after sauna/ sweatbox, or filling water containers would be ideal. Unfortunately listening to the motor, I don't believe it's going to last. It looks suspiciously like poorly made Chinese products! Certainty the it has its uses. Thanks for sharing.

if you boil up some water from jerrycan into a big pot with tripod frame over a campfire, that seems like a good way to get a warm shower out of it
I use it to wash my garden food and small dogs almost anywhere and instantly. The water is then used for something else. I love it!!!
I use mine when power outage. Traveling ,wilderness camping.

You can use it for the the heated portable shower it has only one power source this one has three
I could see a medical use in Devon or cleaning surface.
I think this is ideal for washing game off in the bush after the gutting process?
