When I see this I'm more frustrated with my country's government being able to completely fuck up their attempts to solve an already insane housing crisis so bad that it forces people to have to live with their parents till about their 35-40's (I'm 33 myself) because there just isn't any housing available (and the amount build is ridiculously expensive whether hiring or buying). If you would want to buy a house this big you'd be paying millions in The Netherlands. And then there is also the problem of people having a fulltime job that are unable to get a mortgage because banks became careful after the credit crisis from 2008 and the way some banks were fined for doing stupid shit, but who would be making to much money to rent a social home, and as a result would get shifted to a free-market rental home and as a result would pay so much rent and other costs they'd be loosing money each month. In my region you are on a waiting list for a rental home in the social housing range for an average of 21 years, which is the time you are on the waiting list from the moment you can get on that list (which is when you are 18). My dad refused to believe me when I showed him the results of looking for a home at a website when I had all the search options set as flexible as possible and it returned none in my city, and none in practically every neighbouring village or city.

When I see this I'm more frustrated with my country's government being able to completely fuck up their attempts to solve an already insane housing crisis so bad that it forces people to have to live with their parents till about their 35-40's (I'm 33 myself) because there just isn't any housing available (and the amount build is ridiculously expensive whether hiring or buying).
If you would want to buy a house this big you'd be paying millions in The Netherlands.
And then there is also the problem of people having a fulltime job that are unable to get a mortgage because banks became careful after the credit crisis from 2008 and the way some banks were fined for doing stupid shit, but who would be making to much money to rent a social home, and as a result would get shifted to a free-market rental home and as a result would pay so much rent and other costs they'd be loosing money each month.
In my region you are on a waiting list for a rental home in the social housing range for an average of 21 years, which is the time you are on the waiting list from the moment you can get on that list (which is when you are 18).
My dad refused to believe me when I showed him the results of looking for a home at a website when I had all the search options set as flexible as possible and it returned none in my city, and none in practically every neighbouring village or city.
