This is the first episode in this series of cowboy action hero westerns that were so popular at the theaters in the 1940's. The Range Busters installments were aimed at a young audience that would be interested in the fast paced riding and adventure also the ventriloquist puppet Elmer would give kids a laugh. You can see Max Terhune's lips move a little if you watch closely which is very different from todays movie making. Nowadays Elmer's lines would be dubbed in later.
