super cool vid. one thing you got me thinking about was how to improve the depth of field of shots. whilst i am not sure how one would do it for video, i discovered that you can do something called "depth stacking" for pictures, where you stack multiple incrementally closer pictures of something, each with a slightly different focus as you move forwards, and then use software to merge them (of which photoshop already has tools to do this. also, there are bits of hardware you can mount your camera on to incrementally move it forwards. just imagine a camera mounted on a linear rail or screw where each crank movement forwards can be done incrementally and repeatably. whilst there are bits of kit that do this, perhaps is is something that would make a good 3D printing project ;)
or you can change aperture while the lens is up right and then turn camera off and use it as macro lens as aperture blades stay same so you can get deeper dof and it will work on videos too but you will have to crank up that iso . I think :/
extension tubes do in general work better than retro adapters. Some of them even provide autofocus and aperture controll. And as a general tip, primes work better than zooms for macto adapters
Not trying to like bash on your awesome videos, but neutral density filters are filters that block light from hitting the sensor of the camera, in order to allow slower shutter speeds under bright lighting conditions. A uv filter may be the one you have purchased, because those are always clear. They block uv light, but it really doesn't do a whole lot. People normally buy them for protecting their lenses, as in this case. And I have officially fallen in love with this channel, btw.
Hey Devin congrats on graduating man, I wanted to ask if you had any tips for someone starting out in the 3d printing world. Im currently 1/3 of the way to buying my first 3d printer and it would mean alot if you or anyone else could help.
Not necessarily related to this video, but have you ever tried acetone vapor smoothing? I recently started using it on most of my builds and it makes them look much more professional
Congrats on graduation! Had a question involving your solidworks program... I recently graduated with an engineering degree and used solidworks with my coursework for my time in college but now I no longer have access to solidworks. Did you personally buy a seat for the program or what? How are you still able to use solidworks after being graduated? Needless to say, I miss my solidworks... lol
this is you version of "if it ain't broke, break it" : "if it ain't 3d printed, 3d print it" i only edited it because i forgot a quote mark and people would drown me with comments like "YOU FORGOT THE QUOTE MARK!!!!!"
congrats. I really Luke your videos and I hope u keep making videos although I don't have that stuff I still enjoy watching your videos. So I know what to do it what not to do. ♡♡♡
The reason you had a shallow depth of field was because you had a larger apature to fix this you should close the appeture to like f 11 and take the lenses of whilst the cameras still on
I just wanted to tell you congrats on graduating, and I really enjoy your Chanel. Even though I don't have a 3D printer I still like watching your videos, although I do have a 3D printing pen. Hope you continue to make videos for a while! Happy holidays!
You know, I really question your knowledge of photography/anything camera/lens related since you said that a neutral density filter is a clear piece of glass. A neutral density filter is actually the opposite of a clear piece of glass. It is a tinted piece of glass designed to make a photo darker so that you can use a slower shutterspeed without overexposing. My guess is that you have a UV filter.
I just printed one of your galactops and... I just have to say that it is the most amazing thing I've ever printed! You're an amazing designer!
thanks so much :)
congrats on your graduation :D we're all super proud of you. hope you have an awesome Christmas and a happy new year.

nemof good call, I could totally imagine a 3D printed rig for depth stacking :D
or you can change aperture while the lens is up right and then turn camera off and use it as macro lens as aperture blades stay same so you can get deeper dof and it will work on videos too but you will have to crank up that iso .
I think :/

Does this trick work for all lens types?
Siobhan Waller I haven't actually tried.. I guess it would always work to some degree
so... this is only the body cap. not the micro reverse thread mount....

Can You 3D print a 3D printing pen
I have GOT a 3D pen

Primer comentario!!! Saludos desde chile
cornea is the lens, you mean your iris.
Hi
Danm
How tall is that coil?
Tall enough to make the video longer than 10 minutes :-p
G. Dewert it was from when he printed the galactops straw
A ND filter is obviously not just a clear piece of glass. An UV filter can be deemed as that
Wow only 1 comment! Good job UA-cam
Please print and send me a pink unicorn PLEASE😄😄😄😄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄😊😊😊😊 Love your Chanel by the way.
Nice
3D cookie cutter!?
