- 🇬🇧 I got a golden ticket to Detectival 2024…and found an Anglo Saxon sceat and a Roman silver! I was lucky enough to spend this weekend metal detecting on land occupied by ancient people and bordered by a Roman road, with Saxon, medieval and post-medieval history. It was my second ‘weekender’ rally - and once again I had a blast! Loved seeing everyone’s finds and getting help to identify my own little haul!
Great to meet @Sifinds @RomanFound @FoundInTheGroundFITG @Addictedtobleeps @nicolawhitemudlark @opshortonmetaldetecting @DuckDetects @Englishprospector @ArgentDetectorist @xpmetaldetector …. who have I forgotten?!

A bit about me:
Not your average bloke in camo..
Hello! I’m Ellie, English female detectorist, beachcomber, mudlark and artist. 🇬🇧 Follow my searching journey metal detecting the UK countryside and shoreline, as I learn about British history through objects.
Have I found any treasure? Well - in my first year of detecting I have collected Roman artefacts, old gold, hammered coins and medieval finds. But the REAL treasure is in the stories each object tells about people and places. Sometimes it’s the mystery objects that I love best - cracking the code of time with plenty of help from my team of trusty subscribers!
Miss D.

Nice finds. My congratulations. Hi from Canada. 😊
Why thank you! Great to have you here 😊
Wow Ellie a Saxon coin and a beautiful one at that. I don't knw how you see those tiny coins. Well done. Nice to see Si and his friend.
It was the detector that saw the find, it was pretty tricky to spot in the soil!
@@miss_detectorist It is so tiny but size is'nt everything, its beautiful. You lucky girl.
Congrats on finding the siliqua and sceat. I reckon meeting Liam "Argent Detectorist" on the first day brought you luck. Great video Ellie 👌👏👏🍀
I reckon so! Lovely to meet him 😊
She stole our luck 😂😂
More finds than most videos from detectival I saw. You look lovely as always Miss Ellie. Congrats
I haven’t seen any others yet will catch up tonight!
Haha.. it really is...COngratulations!
Well done Ellie, looks like you had a good weekend with two lovely coins to take home. Thank you again for sharing. 👍
I’m thrilled with the coins. Can’t believe my luck! Feeling it today tho 😩😂
Thanks for showing us your experience at Detectaval , fantastic finds and "warts and all" troubles of weather, long walks and navigation problems which is all very helpful to those ( like me ) who want to participate in the future. 😉🇨🇦
Well I do hope you can make it over to experience an event someday 😊🇬🇧
Morning Ellie. Good to meet you on the field. Congratulations on the sceat, as they say - correct pronunciation according to PAS is 'SHAT', so 'sceatta' becomes 'SHATTA'. Treasure it; they're very scarce. I agree, it was easy to get lost; the maps weren't great... I got lost myself heading back Sunday evening - ended up in a farmyard🤣 What a great weekend👍 Hopefully get you on The Big Detecting Show soon - Lady M x
Unfortunate pronunciation 😂 thanks for the info on that, super interesting!
@@miss_detectorist There was much mirth in the PAS congregations when the correct pronunciation was repeatedly emphasised🤣 In general, detorists will refer to them as 'SCEATS/SCEATTAS'; same as they say 'gold gilded' which does my head in. It's like saying 'gold golded' - so just gold then🙄 Bless them all 🤣
Congratulations on your amazing silvers hun. I hope the Sibrator continues to bring you much more luck in the muck👍🏻🐾🧡
It’s going with me wherever I go from now on! Found another silver yesterday (Sibrator revealed it’s a pierced Charles three pence 😍)
@@miss_detectorist no way!! You’re on the roll of a lifetime!
@@Sifinds 😂 it’s ended today with a day back at work
@@miss_detectorist I dunno… you’re not detecting so it doesn’t count…
@Sifinds 😂
Nice to chat with you on Sunday. Fantastic sceat and silver Roman. Well done.
Thanks, you too! Hope you had a good one!
Congrats! Very happy for you!
Thank you so much 😀
Goooooo Ellie!!!! just grand!!!!!!

I’m happy you enjoyed it, give it a go!
@@miss_detectorist I think I will and thanks Ellie all the best.
To the next 👍🏻
fantastic finds , and it was good to meet you on the farthest fields from the camp on the saturday
Hello! Remind me your name! What did you find, anything nice? I loved that field but didn’t go back due to the distance!
Hi it's jack, I said to that I lived on a farm, just up from where we were detecting, I may have had my celtic bronze coin by then, but I may have found it afterwards
Hoping to be there next year. I just kept laughing everytime you got the Sibrator out 😂 Nice finds 👍🏻❤
It’s such a brilliant idea!
Great to you meet Ellie. Don't forget, try the Jethro programme, I'm even newer to the Deus and it's brill. I found Roman, Hammered Jetton, croatal bell and an 1800s silver, pearl and amethyst broach using it.
Thanks for the tips!I will definitely give that a go!
Fantastic run of silver you're having. Well done. The design on the old brick looks like an illustration of a head of wheat to me. That or the Romans wore doc martens. Looking forward to your next upload.
Cheers!! Great old brick seemed more medieval in design to me but I’m not sure
Great video bestie!! ❤️
Aha! The finder of the brooch! 🤩🤍🤍🤍 hello Beth!
Congratulations 👏
Thank you 🙌
@@miss_detectorist I wish I could edit as fast as the rest of you guys 😂 I'm not even half done yet 🤦🏼♂️
That's such a cool invention by si finds, you get as excited finding ainchant artifacts, as i do finding iron pyrite ammonites and other pyritized shell fish between seatown and Lyme Regis, it's such a brilliant feeling to know your the first person to see it in millions of years,so cool.
That’s so cool!
Hi Ellie! Absolutely lovely to meet you. How lucky were you!!! Took me 13 years to find my first skeat! I cried when i found it, which is on Liam's video lol. He's known as the skeat magnet 😂 I've lost count how many he's found. I've subscribed also 👌 x
Sceat magnet 😂 that’s quite a cool reputation to have 😊😊 maybe I caught some of Liam’s luck on that bouncy Gator ride 😂😂
@@miss_detectorist I think you did!!!! 😂
It was great meet you and loved the video, i need get a Sibrator as well 😂 wish i seen it on sale 😂
That is such a brilliant tool!! Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Look at you, Eliie, finding all those wonderful treasures! Well done.
I know! All grown up finding real artefacts! (Sometimes!!)
Stunning Sceat and well found. I bet you were buzzing
I’m buzzing now I’ve realised just how special it is - I couldn’t see it properly in the field - partly because of the light, and partly my eyesight!
Was a pleasure to meet you Ellie and well done on finding that lovely series C Sceat! Have subscribed now so will keep an eye out for new videos. Cheers, Liam 👍
@@ArgentDetectorist hello Liam! Aha s series C! Thank you! Where can I look to find out more about those, any tips? Did you find anything nice?

Congratulations Miss D 😉 👍
Ah thank you for this info!! I will see what I can discover!!
Looks like a whole lot of fun. Did someone really find all those gold coins there that you showed near the end?
Yes! Can you imagine how that would feel 🤯
@@miss_detectorist WOW! That would be awesome!
Please tell me it not only me that didn’t have other thoughts about the Si-Vibrator or was it just me 😂
😂
Never eat Berries lower than waist height😂
😂 extra nutrition 🤢
Well done great work, please tell me did you read your numbers, or use your ears, got those little targets 🙏🙏
I mostly use my ears, I double check my thoughts with the numbers just for interest, not relying on the read out but just use it as a back up for extra info!
CRACK ON" KNOCKEM OUT MISSY.
Yes 🙌🏼 so chuffed
Are You On Facebook ???
I don’t have a detecting page there as yet but will probably need to set one up!
