If you woulda told me a few years ago that I'd be listening to trance religiously again in 2023 I'd have laughed. I was really disappointed when the style started going away from the trance I connected with in my youth. I stopped listening in like 2012, but I got a wild hair up my ass like a month ago and decided to check out some charts on beatport and then decided from there to listen to mixes by my favorite artists and now I'm here again. I'm back baby and I love it. Seems trance is still evolving, but at least I connect with it now unlike before.
Similar story here! I moved away from the trance and clubbing scene around the same time, 2013. Life circumstances and all that and didn't really like where it was all heading anyway. Still dabbled in listening to the odd trance track but nothing really excited me. Around lockdown I started listening to some mixes such as Bryan Kearneys epic long sessions and realised there's some absolute bangers being made, you just have to know where to find them. Made me go searching for videos of the last ever Gatecrasher that we went to in Sheffield which was PVDs 6 hour marathon. Even spotted myself in a couple of the videos. It's really tempted me to book to see someone like PVD again when they're close by to dip my shuffling toes back in and see if I'm just on a hazy nostalgic trip or if I really would still enjoy it.

this set is amazing and huge. and it've taken me by absolute surprise! i've literally haven't listened to trance in years. and i've managed to have my hands on few of the latest dj sets of as of late - and it it quite surprised me to say da least. it was kidna revelation. no cheesy uplift trance aly and fila style (even though they did have their own masterpieces, no trouce (finally), no pop vocal whateva cheap shite. Its like that old school trance!!! Thank you all the legends who are still alive and keep making it! And yes techno. i guess i'll shall thank techno in the first place.
