Great video, great result and I hate preseason games as a goalkeeper because the playing conditions are nothing like they are going to be at any other time in the season Which means you have to completely adapt your starting position and almost every other part of your game for such a short period of the season. People say they are just friendlies but if you play badly it can affect your entire season. Great vid again keep it up mate
It opens the pitch for me! It allows my team to spread out a bit more, giving me more space to hit my teammates, rather than everyone bunching on one side!
I have some old beat up Nike Shinpads with ankle guards, same deal, potentially older than Sam, my son… we managed to find some new Balance ones for him with Ankle Guards but were hard to track down…
Seems like youve had a good preseason and now its time to roll up the sleeves and get it done in the league 💪🏻 I wish you and your team a successful, injury-free season 🫡💪🏻
Good vid bro! I'm 20 years old goalkeeper from Bulgaria and I've been watching you for like 4 years and you really helped me throught youth football. I'm really happy to tell you that now I'm part of a semi-pro team in 3th tier in Bulgaria and this is my first year of men's football in a proper team. I don't know if I'm right but i feel like coaches will overlook me because I'm not 17 or 18 years old. Do you think 20 is late for starting in men's football or i am still part of the "young goalkeepers"? Just curious to know how you would view it because you probably trained with many goalkeeper coaches and there where young goalkeepers too. Love the content keep it up😁
Definitely not mate!! You are very much a young GK - enjoy the season, learn as much as you can, try and get as many games as you can (even if that means you need to go on loan somewhere), and keep learning your craft! Enjoy it mate
Anyone else find that in pre season games you damage your hip. Last 2 due to the hard ground and repetition of diving I have bruised, swollen hip that has ruled me out for the start of the season for the last 2 seasons. However I have got under padding ones and I strongly recommend these to anyone having the same trouble
Definitely mate - I have been wearing padded shorts from decathlon all year round for the last 3-4 years! Nothing worse than bruising on the hips for GKs!
Im always bad when it comes to food before my matches. I either eat too much, too little and when it comes to the time it's either to close to the game or too far from it so i feel hungry xDDDDDDDD
hey man. I currently play 9 a side, but next season I am changing to 11 a side and i was wondering if you had any tips/ ways to train during the summer break that could help me improve. Love the vids
There isn't too much difference! Footwork & agility to cover the bigger goal is probably the area that will help the most, but you will get used to it pretty quickly! Good luck & enjoy it!
Great video mate can you give me a bit of advice for being loud as a goalkeeoer on the pitch? Because when I shout loud my throat usually hurts the next few days and sometimes leads to throat infection i think. Anything you would recommend to maybe strengthen my voice?
Great question, and I actually don't really know how to answer it! Strange solution, but I have actually heard of people going to singing teachers for this - not to practice singing, but to get their help on techniques and exercises to help strengthen their voice! That might be something you can have a look at?
Hi love your videos I’m 13 years old and have just been released from chesterfield fc who have just been promoted to league 2 and I got replaced for a taller keeper as I’m 5ft 1 and u14s do you have any tips for a shorter keeper in 11 aside nets
The main thing is to focus on what you can control. It's easy to stress about your height (I've been there) but you're very young, and have lots of time to grow. Focus instead on working on the parts of your game that you need to improve. For 11aside goals, that might be footwork, speed, agility & positioning. Invest the time into improving those areas, and you will move ahead of the rest!

Completely agree! Especially with varying types of grass pitches - but like anything, do your best with it, learn lessons, and keep moving forward!
Loving the go pro in the goal!
Thank you mate! Glad you’re enjoying it!!
We’ll take the win, Con!!! Up and up from here!
Thanks my friend!
Looks like a decent game, very fast pace on the attack. Nice video.
Thank you mate! It was a good game, very close!
Great video Connor keep up the good work and I get the best view of your game right behind you 😂
Cheers mate - it's brilliant having you being the goal, love our chats & the updates on the time to go!! See you later bud
Please do more of the game analysis in future vlogs!!!!
Thanks Zoe, I will do!
Great vid! I was just wondering why you take your long 5 meter kicks in the middle, and not on the edge of the line?

I'm glad I'm not the only goalkeeper with old style solid shin pads with ankle supports 😂
same
Old school ftw!
@ConorOKeefe go well today bub GK Union 🙌

Very few with ankle guards nowadays! Feel sad to even think about getting rid of mine!

Thank you my mate - and the exact same to you!!

Thanks mate! Just whey protein & creatine from Soccer Supplement! The link to them is in the video description if you'd like to have a look!

I go with 3.5 hours before the game, and that seems to work for me! But just try different meals/different times, and see what works best for you!
