Without the Salvatore's over-protective freak-controling behaviour , Elena always been. Such an interesting character , you could see it by her interactions with the mikaelsons and others , if it wasn't for stefan between them from the beginning , her and Rebekah could have been the best of friends(hated the backstabbing shit even tho it was to protect her brother u g h,) she stood up to Klaus every time she met him , made deals with Elijah (deals that could ve worked so well if it wasn't for Damon's volatile personality) and kol loved her personality ! She's smart , strategic , a doctor and loving with her friends, even the everyone's saving me wasn't really her fault since she never asked for it and always tried to find a way to them from sacrificing themselves on her account, lost her family one after the other even tho she tried hard to keep each one alive (that is enough to kill a person lbr) + Nina's outstanding acting and explosive chemistry with the whole crew were brilliant to watch ! And guess what ?? I'm not even an Elena Stan lmaooo
