  • Jordan Binnington may be the most controversial person in hockey and NHL at the moment. He currently is the starting goalie for the St Louis Blues in the NHL and has garnered a reputation for being a bit of a hot head. Jordan Binnington has gotten famous for having melt downs, tantrums, and many "Jordan Binnington Anger Compilations" on UA-cam have shown this. But before his hockey infamy he was known for one of the greatest Stanley Cup Playoffs run ever. He helped bring the 2019 St Louis Blues from last place to the Stanley Cup Championship game versus the Boston Bruins. It was an awesome moment and story to watch but now Jordan Binnington is seen as problematic by many hockey fans. If you enjoyed this video please hit subscribe it helps a lot!

Another video where a youtuber reframes Berube's answer to the reporter's question to be about his play in general, and doesn't actually show the reporters question. If you watch the interview, the reporter asked if Binnington was frustrated in regards to when he got a 10 minute misconduct after chirping the Pens bench.
In that context, Binnington was already pulled from the game and a 10 minute doesn't put you short handed, so some might say it didn't really hurt the team. That's why it was actually just the correct thing for the coach to say that "it doesn't help anything." But the reality is a little too boring for the youtubers and amateur reporters that need to sensationalize everything for clicks, so they pretend like it was some sort of public berating.

His stats are deceiving. If you watch games, which I do cause my son is a fan; the blues defense is atrocious. The blues are often out shot by 10-15 shots per game, you cannot be consistently outshot and have non stop pressure on your goalie and not give up goals and win. Also look at his playoffs last year he was unreal again.

I remember reading an article, several months ago, about the NHL’s issues with mental health care in the industry. I’ve been following Jordan Binnington’s career since he took my Blues to the Cup, & finally clinched it. And there’s this part of me that can’t help but wonder if things in his personal life are going ok... but also, I can’t remember when the last time it was that he was given a chance to finish a game. Which is also undoubtedly wearing his already-bruised ego down even more. And when you insult someone’s capability to play a sport that is their literal livelihood, acting out makes a lot of sense.
I know his tantrums and antics are getting a raised eyebrow from everyone, fans down to the players. But I feel someone needs to put him on IR for a week, a month, rest of the season... whatever it takes for him to get a chance to talk to someone, work out what’s going on in his own head, & then get his juju back.
Either that, or bump him back down to the minors while he’s going thru MH treatment. Because I’m really worried about a career that’s barely getting started, & if he’ll even last in the sport, let alone the league, if he’s not given a chance to heal.

The next season he won the Calder trophy as the best rookie. I believe the Habs were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by the New York Rangers. The following season the Canadiens had a very successful season culminating in winning the Stanley Cup.

Now after living in Missouri for 25+ years, I have firmly decided years ago to support the local, regional team, The Blues.
Saying that, I see guys like BINNINGTON let their MASSIVE EGOS fed by childish reactions and lack of balanced emotional/intellectual afflictions RUIN great teams.
I STILL maintain that ST. LOUIS should have never gotten rid of Ben Bishop and put any amount of effort past what the front office amd staff did to mold him into a ST
LOUIS Stat goalie over these years
Because this is a freaking embarrassment to the NHL, The Blues, the fans and his own family.
He needs to GO. And St Louis need to do a lot of work to groom and prepare a new CROP of goal keepers for the future.

We've gone in the past 7-8 years from having a blueline that was solid on our side of the ice with the exception of Kevin Shattenkirk and his notorious turnovers on our own end to having all of our d-guys doing that. I grew up watching guys like Hextall going after everthing that moves or guys like Twist, Probie etc punching each other to spark some life to their teams when they weren't playing well. I can't remember anyone calling Chris Pronger a man child when he got frustrated and went over the line with his antics with his hits or stealing opponents pucks or telling the press they were pretty much insignificant people lol Most of the people calling him a clown or cry baby are ones who see the score of the game and a highlight of his frustration boiling over, not the actual game where his team leaves him out to dry again and again. Binner, Pietrangelo and O'Reilly were the three most important players that won Blues their first stanley cup and Binner was lights out in the finals, especially in the last game where the team infront of him was nervous and shaky and he bailed them out multiple times before the rest of the team got into the game. The reason he did so well in the Cup season is because the team around him went all in with Berube's style which was to just slam into everyone and crack some skulls. I'm not saying he can't be a quality goaltender, but he has some flaws in his game that I don't think he's willing to address and the team in front of him since the Cup year is drastically different. They aren't beating their opponents down. The problem with him is that what should have happened was him being sent down to the minors as a warning shot and to get him some help with his head, but I get the impression that until he has a come to jesus moment with reality, he would take that poorly and probably demand a trade.

Great video, but I will say that Nazem Kadri slamming into Binnington was NOT an accident. The Blues were on fire in 2022, and they definetely had a cup run in them, and Binnington was on fire in the playoffs. We also beat the avalanche twice, and the Avalanche only lost 4 times the entire playoffs, so the Blues were a threat to beat the Avs and their stellar season. I think that it was intentional, beacuse Kadri has done similar things in the past, and the altercation they got into before + the circumstances, how could it be an accident. Binnington had every right to throw that water bottle at Kadri.

Binnington getting injured lead Colorado to the SC Finals. Kadri being involved was no accident. St.Louis had momentum in that series and were showing the same determination they had in Binnington's rookie year. Yes, he was almost unbeatable on most nights in the playoffs, but it was the St. Louis forward's commitment to defense that ultimately lead to the Stanley Cup for the Blues. In 2022 St. Louis needed Binnington in net with his own perceived vendetta against Kadri. Once he was out the Blues folded like a cheap suit. Colorado was the best team in the regular season, although the Florida Panthers won the President's Trophy, but go back and look how many best regular season teams were ousted before reaching the finals. Tampa swept the Panthers. Tampa Bay started the playoffs with a 7 game series then ultimately made it to the Finals against Colorado who was 12-2 (both losses to the Blues) coming into the Finals. St. Louis needed all their key players starting with Binnigton in net to push Colorado to that 7th game. Kadri's contact with Binnington, which is Kadri's MO, ended any hope for St. Louis. IMO had St. Louis beat Colorado, they would have been too gassed to get much on or past Vasilevsky.

This guy is awesome come playoff time. He is the epitome of being able to take his game to the next level when it matters most. I love to watch him play when he is on his game. Die hard Blues fan. Waited decades for a cup. Binner delivered. Without him in 2019 we would have been picking in the top five draft selection.

I can't stand the guy; not a very convincing cheater but he keeps doing it. Also a cry-baby.

I never liked him, even during the playoff run and cup win
