Hi guys I have a support worker who was raised as a Christian but said she never found content answers and she was introduced to Buddhism for many years. Last year on Eid she came to work and out of the blue she asked me to invite her to Islam. I was very surprised didn't know she researched. She admitted because of my practices and knowledge and open minded changed her perspective on Islam. Elhamdullah she is a practising muslim. Elhamdullah Allah chose me to help her find the truth and take the shahada. InsAllah I'll witness both of you taking the shahadah. My heart beats fast when i hear you and other people searching for the truth. Elhamdullah you are blessed by our creator Allah swt.

I became a Muslim in July 2017 after 9 months of health issues, I was dealing with Pancolitis (Ulcerative Colitis in the entire colon). i woke up one day and was so ill until months went by and I developed two ulcers in my colon, when the doctor saw me he said if I had stayed at home for just three more days my colon would collapse and I would die instantly. I had two young children at that stage and I had lived a very liberal lifestyle but I just felt that my children deserved better but i wasnt sure of what exactly as we did have a good life. From my hospital bed in Nov 2016 i talked to My Creator, i didn't not see myself as a Christian but I was pagan even though I grew up as a Christian but being cuban there is a lot of misguidance in our religious culture, many of us tend to embrace Christianity with Santeria and Yoruba Practice. I did my research gor years and decided that it was not for me, I saw God as The Creator and He does not require for me to even light a candle in order to communicate with Him let alone do animal sacrifices and using its blood and flesh to do rituals in order to just attained what we want from these orishas/spirits.
So i talked to My Creator and asked
To let me live in order to find The Truth and to be devoted to Him alone.
To clear my heart and open it to allow love in as I was very harsh in my approach to men as in relationship wise, I was not a feminist as I always valued men's strength as a source of protection and providence. So i had huge respect for me as long as they were not my husband coz then I didn't allow for their opinions as I saw it as orders. I grew up with strong but misguided females around me.
I asked Him that if it was my time to go back to Him then I was prepared for it but I was not prepared to face Him on Judgement day so could He please allow me more time to get ready to meet him in a more purified way.
I asked for forgiveness for my trespassings and misguidance. I said i was grateful for the great life He had given me even if I hadnt use it in the right way and I saw all of my trials that I had gone through as gifts. I asked Him to tske me back if I was to lose my entire colon as I didn't want to be a burden on my children and my family as I was told if that was to take place I could nit longer be able to look after my girls on my own.
And i left it there.
Not longer after that something extremely strange happened in the room, it was passed midnight and I was alone in my hospital room when I felt my grandmother holding my hand and stroking my hair, she had passed away 25 years ago. She said to me be calm and I saw my two great grandmothers at the end of my bed cleaning me and they left together and a horrible stench was in room when they started to wash me snd praying on me but they left together and took something dark with them that had come from my body and I was in excruciating pain while all of this was going on but the minute they left with whatever that dark thing was I was releaved of the pain as if i had been given the strongest pain killer. I never called the nurse coz I heard my grandmother tell me that if i did I would be rushed into surgery for my colon to be removed and to be calm that God had sent them to heal me.
After that I got better day by day and exactly a week later the doctors told me i could go home that they couldnt understand how well I was. Since then I submitted to God completely and 9 months later became Muslim, married a Muslim that wanted to marry me since forever and had more children. Alhamdullilah
Allah SWT gave me everything I asked for that night and more.
I also had three dreams before taking my shahada but this story is long enough.
When dead is so close no matter how far we are from God we feel Him and we run to His aid and embrance and we are very blessed when He in return runs to us and grant us a miracle to get to know His Mercy and be given a second chance on this earth before we go back to Him for ever.
I love your energy coz I see me in your story.
May Allah SWT keep on guiding us all To His Light and Truth. Aameen

I am an old muslim. You have done correctly. I mean the way you communicate or make du'a with The Creator. We need to be real frank and honest to Him on whatever we have done and will make as much effort to amend. Do not try to make excuses or tell lies no matter how wrong or embarassing to admit. We are human and prone to make many mistakes and He deliberately creates us with such trait in order to test us in this life. Remember that He knows everything even if we try to conceal our wrongs at the deepest spot in our heart. He knows. All that we need to do is confess and repent. He is the only one deserves our worship. One more thing is when we make du'a speak our voice out softly until it can be heard by our own ears. I said all these because I have experiece many things in life which were too unfathomable to be called mere coincidents. May Allah have mercy on us when The Day Of Judgement come.
Prophet Muhammad pbuh said-
Allah SWT says "whoever comes to me walking, i will come to him running" (Sahih Al Bukhari)
With Islam, you dont have to give up on life or miss out on anything good..On the contrary, your life will feel more complete in every way❤

I was born Muslim and didn't really understand what Islam is now that I think about it. I lost myself in the pleasures of this world with no regard to what is right or wrong, just a hippie mentality of not hurting others directly but having no idea about the intricacies about small effects of sins on myself or others. Fast fwd to when I was 29 and on the brink of suicide almost. Allah saved me, guided me and taught me knowledge of his religion. And this is a favor by Him far greater than anything this material world can offer us. He has chosen you both for the same. We all belong to Him, and when He likes something inside us, He claims us for Himself, to be in His presence and His other beloved ones in Paradise. It is our Job to fiercely guard this Iman (Faith) which He put inside our hearts and put His commandments above our desires and in sha Allah we will be with Him and the righteous, in the next life to come where there shall be no death.
Subhanallah, your story is similar to mine. I was born Muslim as well and came back to it at age 29. I'm 30 now, nearly 31, and doing my best to increase my knowledge & understanding.

The haram police will make you feel guilty. They might mean well, but they won't really offer a solution. They'll just scrutinize you and that's a very impolite & unproductive manner of advising someone. The best way to advise someone on how to fix their wrongdoings is to approach with sympathy, explain why it can be viewed as wrong, and provide a practical solution from the Qur'an or Sunnah that fits their understanding. Not everyone operates on the same logical wavelength. Advising a brother or sister must be done in a way that caters to their level of knowledge. Allah knows best.
Take it from a revert guys. You are doing yourselves a great favor if Allah guides you to Islam. If so, you will never go astray, and you will never be alone in this world as you are part of the largest and most righteous family in the world.
