There are so many games I've bought that Nintendo decided I can no longer download or play because they labeled those consoles obsolete.
I feel zero guilt owning flash carts.
I'll never complain about more Game Boy games. That being said, I don't really care much for these high-difficulty platformers that just come down to learning patterns, since you have no chance to dodge things flying at you from off-screen. I'll probably play them a little but soon to back to more reasonable games.
Mega Man 4 for gameboy is still amazing. One of my favorite 8 bit Mega Man games.
And 5 is super expensive

There's a rom hack for Mega Man V that was released not that long ago, that makes the game in full color.

It's so good. As a big MMV fan, I can confirm that it improves the game in many small ways but the color graphics overall are very impressive.
I just pleased they're finally talking to third parties and getting their older games on there. It will give the service much more.
Now we only need the extreme games now.
As cool as it is to see these on the Game Boy app, I kind of feel like these should have been in a 3rd Legacy collection instead on all platforms so fans could actually own the games.
I guess Nintendo and Capcom have an agreement that the Game Boy Mega Man Series be released on NSO and not on the Legacy Collection and in turn the NES Mega Man not to be released on NSO.
What's also neat about Mega Man V is that you have to eventually battle the mid-robots from the first four Mega Mans (Enker, Quintet, Punk and Ballade), and their attack patterns are the same, but you don't gain their weapons when you beat them this time.

Mega Man 5 is the best of the bunch as it has an entirely original storyline with some great Robot Master designs to boot. I don't care about the first 4 games as much as I do with the fifth game.
Its dope just to have 5 let alone the ones before it. 5 is super expensive these days
I just had to abuse the rewind feature to get through the first four levels of the first game. Good lord that’s bonkers how hard it is.

I still don't have a Switch. Almost bought one, but then I ended up buying the New 3DS XL because of Madlittlepixel's video on it. Man its fun. 3D looks incredible. I really hope the Switch 2, is going to be the Switch 3D

Nice...but I would have been happier with a legacy collection of these games. I've been told it's because Capcom didn't have access to the actual ROMs anymore...well, clearly that isn't the case anymore. But in order to hold these games now, I have to renew the subscription every year...essentially "renting" them in perpetuity. Mixed emotions on this one. 🤷♂️
My main memory of these Gameboy games is that they really didn't pull any punches on the difficulty level.

*Note* I love this channel. Also, this comment was not intended to rain on anyone's parade. BUT Nintendo allowing players to rent retro games for a fee isn't a blessing in my book. a blessing would have been for players to have been gifted these games to own. Why I'm a huge advocate for roms and emulation along with owning the physical copy. I'm not renting a game to play it and have to worry about a subscription to continue enjoying it. Personally, I have no interest in ever upscaling a retro game as long as I live. It's going to be 4:3 on a crt or on an original Gameboy that's modded. The most extreme I would go would be on a modded ps vita with the oled in 4:9. 16:9 and up will only ever be modern gaming. The switch should have never even had this option to start with. Makes sense on a DS, but not this far into the future. But I mean it get it, people don't have the space and time to get the natural experience. They just want to pick it up and play. But at the same time, the easiest suggestion I could give you would be to buy a used wii and hook it up to a Dell 4:3 monitor it doesn't take up much space and is extremely cheap and native to 240p gaming. They can be found in thrift stores even in 2024. Rant over. Game however you would like. Do whatever makes you happy. If input lag doesn't bother you, then hey it's your experience. And if paying a fee to nintendo to enjoy the classics is right for you, then so be it. It's just not for everyone, including myself. Take care, happy gaming.

God I remember that background music from the Gameboy version of Megaman V! Wish I hadn't sold that game to Funcoland. Oh well, maybe this NSO release will help "tame" prices a bit...
I'm so excited. They thought they'd put something together and actually interested in. Wanna play it now, above all, the mega men, games they're fun to play and they're. You may make you mad, but you don't want. It's funny to go back and play.

I feel that these games (along with Mega Man and Bass) should be in a 3rd Legacy Collection. The Game Boy titles are classics, and I play them from time to time (I mean in a marathon kind of way).

Of course they are. Even the second game, that everyone except me hates, is worth playing. The NES and SNES versions were never realistically going to be released on the Nintendo Switch Online so the Game Boy versions are a very welcoming addition.

You can only blame yourself if you didn't fill in their survey last year, along with others who neglected doing so. Personally I asked for more megaman X style games in the vein of x1-5. So it's not my fault..

The Mega Man games on Game boy aren't as good as the NES ones, but they are fun. They're a pretty decent time. I'm happy about that. 👍

I beated the game and I’m not really a 2D/3D Zelda guy, but this game is something special. The chill music, how you can combine animals wit cool abilities is just, wow!
