Inpécable, j'ai antendu cette chanson il y a au moins trente ans et toujours m'a plu la melodie. Cette chorale la joue d'une manière parfaite.
On dirait (dirait-on) interpreté par des francophones!
I just discovered this version of one of my all time preferred songs, impecably sung by this choir!
I'm a Japanese student.
I will sing this song at our concert, so we have listened to this.
Voix magnifiques,une prononciation parfaite du français.. vous nous avez donné une interprétation très émouvante.BRAVO!!!!
I love this performance -- I must have come back to it a few dozen times by now.
Very good!! I'm singing this song this SATURDAY 11 of MAY in COLBURN SCHOOL L.A.
💎 This is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 💎
🙏💜🙏
💜🎵💜
It sure is
Another gloriously beautiful song from Morten Lauridsen. Performed immaculately here - this is top quality singing of top quality music. The Director's interpretation is very sympathetic and beautifully musical. The voices of these young men are expertly utilized and every part is clearly audible - even in the complex four part passages. Intonation is perfect throughout. The Director, accompanist (very fine too) and choir are working together seamlessly. I can't stop playing it and can't get the tune out of my head. Straight to the top of my favorites list!!!! I can't believe that it's only had 1428 views.
it is so good!
What a beautiful song! Thankyou for posting this. And Bravo to the Kings college choir. Its amazing what new and fabulous songs one can find during lockdown.
Abandon entouré d'abandon, tendresse touchant aux
tendresses...
Ah-ban-don an-too-ray dah-bon-don, ten-dreh-sseuh too-shan o
ten-dreh-seuh
C'est ton intérieur qui sans cesse se caresse, dirait-on;
Say ton ihn-tay-ree-euhr kee san sseh-seuh seuh ka-reh-seuh,
dee-ray-ton
se caresse en soi-même, par son propre reflet éclairé.
Seuh ka-reh-seuh en soah-meh-meuh, par son pro-preuh
reh-fleh ey-cleh-ray
Ainsi tu inventes le thème du Narcisse exaucé.
Ihn-see tu ihn-ven-teuh leuh teh-meuh du nar-see-seuh
egg-zo-say
Literal translations (close to word-for-word):
Translation 1:
Abandon surrounding abandon, Tenderness touching
tenderness...
Your oneness endlessly Caresses itself, so they say;
Self-caressing through its own clear reflection.
Thus you invent the theme of Narcissus fulfilled.
Translation 2:
Abandon enveloping abandon, Tenderness brushing
tendernesses,
Who you are sustains you eternally, so they say;
Your very being is nourished by its own enlightened
reflection;
So you compose the theme of Narcissus redeemed.
Moving flowers of mankind... love!
I had the great joy of singing this as a young college kid and have loved it ever since. I would have loved to sing it in the men's choir I later joined. Beautifully done!
Move yourself up to Berwick upon Tweed. The BMVC is just trying to come to terms with it. Loving the tune, fearing the words! LOLs
My favorite interpretation so far... It's like listening to angels singing in front of the good Lord Himself... Very calming.
A couple of mute "t"s are pronounced but quickly forgiven. Lovely!
Magnífica interpretación. Enhorabuena.
Absolutely sublime.
Men that conductor is everything😚
I have literal chills 😵
A very fine performance. Bravo boys !
Absolutely fantabulous!
Love this song😭❤
Absolutamente maravilhoso. Uma harmonia incrível. Lindo
Qué belleza!!
Prachtig gezongen en zo`n mooi nummer
Wonderful!
They sing very well! Does anyone know the name of any of them?
It's the warblers! Truthfully tho, beautifully done. My only critique is they're using a tapped "r", like Spanish uses, instead of the glottal "r" that French does.
Where's La Rose Complete? Nice rendition. It's supposed to be an SATB piece.
may i've got the sheet music of this song? is't so beauty
I have a copy:)

Les Chansons des Roses
Abandon entouré d’abandon,
tendresse touchant aux tendresses…
C’est ton intérieur qui sans cesse
se caresse, dirait-on;
se caresse en soi-même,
par son prope reflet éclairé.
Ainsi tu inventes le thème
du Narcisse exaucé.
Abandon surrounding abandon,
tenderness touching tenderness …
Your oneness endlessly caresses itself, so they say.
Self-caressing,
in its own clear reflection.
Thus you invent the theme
of Narcissus fulfilled.
Wait.. is that Steven Lim from buzzfeed? 01:22
Their pronounication of the French is quite good!
So good. I just wish the tenors didn't fade so much on the high notes. Those need to be NAILED.
Abandon entouré d'abandon,1
tendresse touchant aux tendresses...
C'est ton intérieur qui sans cesse
se caresse, dirait-on ;
se caresse en soi-même,
par son propre reflet éclairé.
Ainsi tu inventes le thème
du Narcisse exhaucé.
Good execution, but their French was definitely lacking in its pronunciation and grammar rules, and the room was too dry
