    I had to laugh a little when you got hit with the wind. I have had that exact experience a few times on the White Rim. Always happens right after sunset. I've had to chase down tables that took flight, had my tent collapse, and yeah, everything filled with sand. Fun times!

    We definitely appreciate the effort you put into these videos, I'm confident in speaking for all of us, in that regard. I will add that, for me, it gives me peace, seeing through your camera, what I cannot go out and see with my own eyes right now. In addition, it helps me focus on the things I'm working so hard for, and keeps me "dreaming". I was just telling my youngest (20) that as an adult it becomes harder to dream and be creative, so you have to tap into that early on in life, and feed it often.
    So, thank you.

    Really envious of you guys right now. I’d planned on being in Utah during this timeframe and could possibly have met up with you guys. Unfortunately I sprained my knee pretty bad while living my best overland nomadic life in Flagstaff a few weeks ago resulting in me making a beeline to my closest friends house in Alabama to recover. That was a hellacious two day trip. I could barely get in and out of the Jeep let alone stand to gas up. Luckily I didn’t have to stop much. Thank you long range America auxiliary tank. I did have to kill six hours in Mississippi waiting for that tropical storm to clear over Alabama. Sorry to be so long winded. Great series of videos guys. Still hoping to meet up with you guys sometime. Be safe out there.

    If you are ever in the Southern California area you should checkout Trona Pinnacles. When you mentioned never seeing a barren landscape like that it made me think of that place. It truly feels like you’re on another world.

    Gonna be out in Moab at the end of August into September. Still planning on what all trails I'm gonna hit. I do have 2 days planned for the White rim though, also booked my camp site back in February. How were the night time temps? Not a big fan of the heat, although we've had a quite hot and humid summer so far here in Ohio. Also guessing the water crossing was dried up with how dry it's been out there. Shame about the fire in the La Sal mountains, was planning on doing some camping there as well, and is one of the reasons I'm taking my small propane fire pit. Seeing that beautiful scenery has me that much more pumped up to see it in person.

    • @OzarkOverlandAdventures
      @OzarkOverlandAdventures  3 роки тому

      Night temps were great! Doing it in just 2 days will be rushed. Hopefully you have a campsite in the middle and get started early. We could have spent 4 days on it if we had taken our time to do a little hiking and more exploring.

    The Cherokee did amazing Jeep should use your trip as a commercial.
    Can't wait to see Sully show his stuff in moab.
    Parts of the trail looked very narrow with the ledge just right outside your door was there a time you almost peed your pants?😄

    Speaking of this morning I went to a place way off in the woods to a small lake. Well when I got there I look down at the place where the people before me had a fire there. This was 630 in the morning. The logs were smoldering.

    Nice, this is on the old bucket list. Been on the arch and have pics of me on it back in 2013. Was allowed back then. Like most things shut down out there, someone must have fell off, vandals, or something of the likes, and closed it. What a bummer, as it makes for epic pics.
    Pro's and Cons of taking the trailer on this trail? Any issues? Hindrance or beneficial, to the overall experience?

    Cara, you hit on the reason that those of us that live here in the west, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming, are fire aware, and so adamant about fire bans and what they mean. The cost is huge, in life, wildlife, habitat destruction, and men and fire-fighting resources. Curious question, what would you say was your average speed on the White Rim? Do you think it would be doable in a 10-12 hour day? Can't wait to see the next video, so, Travel Safe.

      We did it in 2days but barely. Camped at airport. Do not skip the lanthrop canyon I think it was my favorite part. We got lucky I guess because we had no wind on the rim both days.
