I love your relaxed approach to composting! It shouldn't be so complicated.
Some great advice, Laura. Thanks for sharing with us. You have much wisdom!
Great tips!
Great idea. I’m just starting to compost also.
Good advice. We follow a similar approach.
Great video,
Composting saves money not going to the dump or paying service and less bags you buy.
Good advice and helpful tips! I want to learn about composting but I knew there was lots of “instructions” about it…. Thanks for a quick easy to follow guide!
Great advice. Right now my chickens and pigs are taking care of most of our scraps and the compost pile is very slow.
It definitely ebbs and flows depending on what we're eating. Some meals the chickens get all the scraps
I composted leaves in my garden beds over winter and they have been breaking down nicely.
I do something very similar. What the chickens don't or can't eat goes into my compost. I have two large ones for those things and I have a small one for things that are safe for me to us in the garden...
Milk is good for the garden...put it straight on the vegetables... l dig a hole for vegetable scraps..
I am starting a compost with the chickens straw when l clean that out..
Yep! We have a huge pile of old chicken coop and sheep stall bedding. Works great!
I really need to do this, just haven’t. I do try to reduce my trash by feeding scraps to the chickens and burning any boxes or burnable things. Try to watch packaging but you know if your on a budget that gets tricky. And I use things up! All the way up! Don’t throw it out till you get absolutely the last drop out of it! This drives my kids crazy! Lol!
Packaging is so tricky...not even just budget but location. We just don't have a lot of option way out in the middle of nowhere. Our little local stores only sell a small variety of items
Last summer I buried my kitchen scraps in the garden. After 1 month the scraps were gone and there were gobs of worms. Fast composting.
Great idea! Have a great day!
