Need an Eagle on top.
Would love that. But this sucker wasn't cheap. And the Eagle option just added even more to the cost. If the day comes that I need to rent a cherry picker to maintain the pulley, I will upgrade to an eagle then.
Absolute perfect size pole and flag. What size flag is that? You’ve got a beautiful piece of land my friend. Have you thought about flying a POW or Gadsden flag underneath Old Glory? 🇺🇸
Thanks so much for the comment and watching. So funny you should ask about the size. The flag you see when me and my family are raising it for the first time is a 6 x 10 Polyester. That's the one I originally bought with the pole. About a week later I called up Rick at Admiral Flagpoles and bought an 8 x 12 Nylon from him.
The day we raised the original one was quite windy and the Poly one flew great. But Nylon is lighter and flies better in a slight breeze. Am am sure that some of the shots in the ending montage show both the 6x10 as well as the 8x12. I am almost positive in all the drone shots I was flying the larger (Nylon) one. The cloudy shots was the original day, so that is most likely the smaller (Polyester) one.
I am keeping them both and plan on switching back to the Poly flag in the winter when the weather tends to get nastier. Rule of thumb for size goes like this: Length of flag should be 1/3 the height of the pole. So for a 35 foot pole; 1/3 of 35 = 11-2/3 feet. Hence I am right in between a 10 or 12 foot long flag. But I also the pole on almost a 2 foot paver platform. So the top of pole really is about 37 feet above grade. The 8x12 is spectacular and certainly is impressive looking.

I know for certain I am flying the larger one in the beginning where I narrate about my buying experience and how I prepped for the install. (I suggest watching that one if you enjoyed this as it gives you more of my experience on this project)
As far as flying another flag below it, I may someday, but for now I am really enjoying just the Stars & Stripes. Still gets my patriotism on every morning when I see her flapping in the dawn sky.
