Actually the Amelie soundtrack made me watch the movie. I wouldn't of watched the movie if it wasn't for Yann!

I first discovered the unique movie, that came together with the unique music, and I got very curious about this music and it's author and other pieces he wrote.
This wonderful film is what it is partly from this music, and without it, wouldn't be the same. Au contraire, the music has a life on it's own and can make us feel and imagine a multitude of feelings or (bits of) films, because musical sounds (and voices) are so powerful for us. Still, for me, this association is a very happy one. Also, a few pieces are titled from the name of the protagonist.

Yann Tiersen is a man that gives meaning to this world. he is a man who makes you rethink that humans are not really the worst creatures ever made.
I remember when I was 13 years old there was a girl named sally in my school who played piano, she was beautiful I looked up to her, I remember I wanted to impress her. I searched on UA-cam piano and after a while I found yann tiersen. When I heard his music it was the first time I ever felt something, I felt connected to the art, all I could do was feel emotion, emotions that I never felt before, it was incredible. Its something I find difficult to describe. But I know others feel it too. It's truly beautiful. It's something I'm really grateful for. I'm now 23 and I still listen to him play and I still feel those emotions of connectedness. Thank you yann for sharing something so great so beautiful. You are a treasure to this world and I hope that everyone discovers you, like I did.
I feel so sad that the songs used in the movie Amelie feel so out of context to Yan, I play a few of those songs and every time someone says 'oh that's Amelie' I say "it's Yan Tiersen", because that IS the source... And I can only imagine how it might feel. Not all of us relate those songs to the movie, myself included. And Yan, your music was one of my main inspirations to learn to play piano and write my own songs, and music is the love of my life, so I thank you for your influence always.

I think for Yann 'Amelie' was a curse and a blessing at the same time. He made so much better music than Amelie yet that's the one which made him famous. It's like all his work is reduced to Amelie only but in reality it's not. Don't forget he did not compose the soundtrack for that film, the original album is called 'La valse des monstres', Jean Pierre Jeunet (the director) heard it somewhere and really have liked it. Please, do listen to Yann's previous work, he is much more than Amelie. All the best and enjoy :)

@@maxime125, english is better understood by more people worldwide than french. And the musicians and sound engineer around Yann Tiersen aren't french, they probaby talk together in english. There are lots of reasons than the commercial one, even if it's a good thing for it too.
Les musiciens et ingénieur du son autour de Yann Tiersen ne sont pas français. Ils parlent probablement en anglais ensemble. Cette vidéo semble avoir été tournée pendant l'enregistrement du disque ce qui justifierais aussi ce choix de langue ;)
Si exactamente, el ingles se habla en Muchas partes del mundo, mas que el Frances y Como tu dices el equipo de musicos no son franceses, el ingles siempre termina siendo un idioma "neutral" asi hay mejor comunicacion con otros que no son franco parlantes :)
