Hey everyone this camp was a tough one. I hope you all enjoy the video 😀. This is likely the last snow we will see until next year so make the most of it ❄️⛈🏕
Hey mate , what tent do you use , been looking for a new one that's *Abel* to withstand bad weather
@@Tom.Climbs it’s a Nemo kunai.
@@AbelandVictoria Thanks mate , im going to go invest in one right now , seen it in many different weather variants on your channel, so its clearly a good shelter
Much appreciated
Tom
@@Tom.Climbs it’s good. Difficult to pitch it rough conditions
@@AbelandVictoria im just after one that will stay secure during bad weather as the one im currently using has a habit of lifting up off the ground in high wind , even with it fully secured , ive even had my dad try securing it more , as he's been camping for 50+ years , but to no avail 🤣
Lightweight.... stop whining... 😜 Good effort mate. If only people knew how dangerous and difficult it is to do what we do... ❤AB
Try doing it with a bad back and 1 ankel that's tough 😅..... I didn't mention age🙊. Great content both parties
Lol
I think he needs a dog with him when he goes alone.
Tony you legend!! Great to see the banter and camaraderie between campers this community is awesome
It was certainly grim! A nice dog is needed for outings like this.
i slept like a baby with these sounds :D
Brutal!! I love to watch while I am all warm and dry at home.
Just keep watching cause you live for the extreme experience. That’s what makes you exciting. I don’t understand why you don’t close up your tent to keep it all dry. That’s why I call it extreme camping. Love it. Thanks for the great video. You closed the tent ~ awesome
A B camping most of us do appreciate your effort and hard work
I love Tony and Bruno, watched all his videos. He drinks a lot of coffee. May can learn something from him, hes been doing it a long time.
Tony is excellent camper but a coffee noob lol. I have learnt many things from old Tony
Every time I see you do a winter snow seen I enjoy it more and more just wish I was there
Abel, your commitment to camping in such deplorable conditions is to be saluted. Aside from the great meals and toasty fire, the rain, mud, wind and cold would have had me bailing before sunset. Thanks for toughing it out and sharing!
Around minutes 14:05, I thought I saw a look on Abel's face that said: I wish I had stayed at home with my wife. I am just chilled watching this. Wild man.
If I have a good tent and sleeping bag, I love camping in weather like this
I love how at the end you and Tony from AB camping hook up! His channel is what introduced me to following yours and I’m so glad I did … I look so forward to watching your videos! You are an inspiration! ❤
Haha yeah Tony was camped 30/40mins away. We both had a rough night.
Yes, me too. If it wasn't for Tony I'd never known about Abel and Victoria's channel
Regardless of the weather, you two make thee best campfires. Thank you for sharing your videos! I thoroughly enjoy them.
Love a good camp fire. Thanks 😊
We heated our house for years with a woodstove, but couldn't start a good fire with damp wood, never mind soaking wet wood. Don't know how you manage it every time. Not this time, I think. Then, ta da, there's a roaring fire.
You should of packed everything up before the tarp , do everything you can under the most outer shelter and keep yourself and everything else as dry as you can, great videos ❤
Love watching your videos. Having been in the military, I know how much worse driving cold rain is than any snow storm. Being wet and cold is the worst. You make it look fairly easy which it certainly is not! Great stuff!
Cheers
I delivered newspapers for 8 years and I can say that I would MUCH Rather be out in a blizzard than a rainstorm. If it's snowing you can brush off and get in the car where it's warm. If it's raining you are just WET.
Watching this adventure as im wrapped up like a burrito in my warm bed in the middle of the night 🌙 with temp at 39⁰F 😆. Shout out to you Abel. I admire youre endurance and sense of adventure.
Wow jst wow thank you Abel for an amazing camp 😍
Tony is exactly right about coffee
Ignorance is bliss. Tony has now adopted my ways so guess he was wrong lol
رحله سعيده جميله جدا مريحه بعيدة عن الضوضاء افظل وأجمل فيها الامطار والأجواء الشتاء البارد وفيها الطبيعه الساحرة وموقد النار
اتمنى لك رحلة ممتعه
As Tony would ( and did!) say...it was GRIM! And wow, it truly was...for both camps, yours and his. The wind for you, so strong! I think I would've either packed up and given up, or crawled into the sleeping bag to wait it out, especially when the " river" formed right where you were sitting...how miserable. Thanks for hanging in there and making a great video.
Haha yeah I actually had a pretty good time. Learnt a lot for next time. Thanks for watching
bel, thank you for putting yourself through this for our entertainment, we sit here is our cosy rooms and think, "how can he do this". Thanks again
You know it is fun to watch but, I like to be warm and dry. More power to you for creating content!
If I were young again I would love to do this I like stormy weather
As a mature Canadian who should be retired but still in business, I enjoy living my life vicariously through experiences like this. Well done story and great camera work! PS. Visiting via cruise Jan ‘24 and hope the weather is better.
Well Done ! Reminds me of my snow camping adventures of the 90's ! Cheers!
It's great to see some camping that's using some cheap, down to earth gear, that's also effective. Well done 👍🏻. I don't hear any whining. You're just explaining the situation. It's great to see someone taking harsh weather in his stride
Wow‼️just wow. Thank you Abel for an amazing camp
Yes.
Liked watching your adventure. In many ways, that is the best camping. Not much lazing around...always something to do.
I really enjoy your videos very soothing to my hectic life. Thank you.
Hello, l just found your channel a few days ago and have been binge watching ever since😀. I like your videos and you have a great personality. Keep up the good work!
Hey thanks
Best Best Best videi sir I am appreciating your courage ever 👍👍
Weight issue aside, one major bit of kit appears to be missing: a multi-purpose spade. Great to dig a moat to channel rainwater away, move snow drifts, and to cook a fry-up on (so you can ditch the frying pan). As for Hobnobs; you just gotta dunk faster bro.
Hmm maybe for snow in winter. Weight is big issue walking up to this spot. Ok I’ll try again
That new saw you received is worth its weight in gold. Not sure that I’ve ever seen a small saw like that go through wood like butter.
The beanie is a classic.
Enjoyable video while watching comfortably at home.
Abel you certainly made it look like a successful camp. The meals looked scrumptious. The fire looked cozy. Thanks
love the unique weather camping , was wonder about your camera setup would like todo something similar also your lighting for your camera. subscribed for more extreme camping.
Hello 👋 my friend my first time watching u I really enjoyed it next time take some one with u to keep u warm.
With that crazy wind, you won't have to worry about your tarp pooling water!
Those little cakes sound SO delicious. Orange goes so well with chocolate.
The burgers look delicious! Bon appetit!
Awesome trip and definitely the definition of driving rain.
So glad it calmed down for the fire 🔥
I came across your channel only last night and I think I’ve watched 5 episodes in a row. I find you strangely addictive. There is no way I would do what you do, so thanks for taking me along. Your commentary is so refreshing and honest too. You definitely have a new subscriber here. ❤
Nice one! Glad to know Tony's got one coming up too! Can't believe ya'll are still getting snow there. Sorry camp was so miserable. Still fun to watch lol. Be safe!
Will be interesting to see Tony’s experience. He was camped about 40 mins walk away
Hi Abel and Victoria, I love watching your video's! I'm from Canada and we have many great places to back country camp as well. I'm inspired to visit New Zealand; the countryside is beautiful and there are few predatory wildlife. Here is Canada we camp with the bears, cougars, coyotes and snakes etc.
Yeah only danger here is the weather. It’s wet and cold highly humid
And those god damn messe , bloody tall bastards aren't they , especially when they come right upto your tent , fuck me they're skyscrapers then
… we’ve got rabbits and some of them give you a really nasty look. UK
Oh man that is quite a storm. Watching that tarp shelter blowing around made me relate with this
Lol yeah it’s was decent
Impressed that you could get and keep a fire burning in all that moisture. Good on ya".
loved the camp the weather was stunning with rain hail thunder
Single malt. All you need to remember. Great stuff happening in this storm camp.
This camp was Hard! The snow would have been alright, But that Rain looked Yuck! You did well to get a fire going, that's for sure. Another great vid to watch, looking forward to the next one already.
It was rough. Learnt a lot. Crazy getting this kind of weather in late October. Looking forward to getting out again and not suffering as much 😀
Damn that looks brutal. I'd take -30 and snow over the rain any day. Found the channel recently and am thoroughly enjoying it. Love the campsite river, it adds a certain touch to your experience
Lol yes it rough up there
With adequate equipment, winter snow camping is infinitely better than camping in wind and rain.
Hi Abel, this video was just down right grim for sure.I appreciate your willingness to camp in that miserable weather. Thank you Abel.🇨🇦❤️🙏
Hi Abel, Tony from AB Camping recommended you. Keep up the good work . Cheers from Brazil .
You make me so hungry. Love watching you and laughing during youryour escapades
Indonesian food indomie cup... Mantaab
😃👍
Seeing fresh spring snow on the mountains around here, I knew someone would be out there having fun. It's been cold enough in town. Glad you did it, so we didn't have to.
Was hoping for a bit more snow but not bad for late October
Victoria?
Victoria was smart and stayed home!!! LOL😂 But I definitely enjoyed watching Abel and Tony do the crazy camping.❤❤😊
Excellent vidéo . Enjoy full
You must be mad camping in those conditions i admire you for putting up with all that wind and rain 🌧
I am!
Absolutely love your long format videos. Lets be honest. Everyone watches it in 1.5x so the long format ones are more fun❤️ love from India🇮🇳
I wanna see this same scenario done using a family size tent and a family size shelter. The little tent and shelter make it too easy to setup, maintain and clean up.
I literally have to bring so much sh!t for a family of 4 that we have to take two vehicles. And I’m the poor bastard that sets it all up, takes it all down, loads it and unloads it. And if it rained i wouldn’t be getting to sit until my bedtime.
Lol ok
@@AbelandVictoria 😃
@@AbelandVictoria you’ll
See one day when you’ve got a wife n kids. You become a Sherpa. And everyone’s happiness on a camping trip relies heavily on you. All of a sudden everyone is an invilant and you’ll be doing it all just so you don’t have to hear all the complaining
Nice to see an outback with all terrains
Hello Abel, (and absent Victoria)
I watched you all the way through and you were giving yourself a hard time and were feeling like the weather was responsible for more than it was. I think that you handled everything just fine . Even a longtime bushwacker can ruin a great pitch. Every time you brought up problems I quickly looked at your face. It always had a smile and many times it had good things to say. You had a positive attitude from the first to the last. That makes up for poor equipment or weather or sometimes the company you keep.
After watching your video, I remembered that there was another New Zealand person or persons that I used to watch occasionally that had a dog and I thought that they went camping sometimes. I found a family who fit the description but they didn't camp that often and their goal was to travel to the US.
A little background on myself is as follows. I'm 77 years old. I grew up in Northern Wisconsin (close to Lake Superior) and extreme weather in the winter. For the last 50 years I've lived in the Mountains of Colorado. I've actually LIVED IN my tent for a number of years. Myself and my Golden Retriever. My kids and grandchildren would camp with me from time to time.
So, I might consider myself as someone who knows a little about the outdoors.
So, this brings me back to that person who I recalled that was from New Zealand and camped with a dog. Well, you know OF him. You mentioned that you had a THING with a guy by the name of Tony. Well, I watched a few of his videos, and you said that he didn't know jack s* about coffee. Well, he doesn't know Jack * about camping either. And...he seems to want to blame anyone or anything for equipment failure or inclement weather or anything other than himself. I had a difficult time getting through those videos.
Hey thanks
Perhaps a little camp shovel might be something you add to your arsenal of bad-weather camping gear. It would have come in handy shoveling a trench around your campsite rather than using your boots.
When i was in army boot camp they trained us to dig a little trench all around our tent with a trench leading downward away from the tent. You probably already knew that but just thought I'd mention it. Great stuff dude enjoyed the video.
I love watching you, especially when it comes to cooking. It's so nice hearing you saying, your double cheeseburger is divine.
By the way, the JAFFA BISCUITS are divine too, juicy !
Waiting for your next video !
❤❤🇩🇪❤❤
Love the storm...😊
Love seeing New England camping equipment being used worldwide ❤
Jaffa Cakes - top notch. Can't beat em!
Amazing videos! Keep it up!
Thanks
zevkli bi yağmur/kar kampı izledim
No matter what the conditions, always a smile and a chuckle. Great vids.
You rock! Your fan from Chicago!
Lots of courage. 😊 enjoyed seeing Tony at the end.
Yeah it was a tough one. Lol yeah great end to the trip
May GOD bless you Sir.....much appreciation for sharing
Looks like a beautiful area !
Love to see a temo all wish camp 😅😂 love watching you stay safe 😊
This storm is just normal type of storm where I live, but I'm inside of my house, except for when I go out onto the carport to watch the rain and I love the smell of rain. I live in Southwest Louisiana, USA.
You can eat your noodles any way you want--It's your food to eat.
I was on the edge of my seat watching this video. You guys are incredible. How did you manage to survive the storm and find shelter? You have some serious skills and courage. I admire your passion for camping and nature. 🌲🌲🌲
Camping is fun! 👍
Indomie seleraku .. ❤❤
Your awesome man! That was a blast!
18:07 and I see you're sawing both left AND right handed, Making best use of rest periods on your off handed sawing. Switching left and right as your strength is available. What a pleasure to watch you work. Such great use of available resources. How'd ya get so smart?
We had a couple of similar experiences when camping with our then young children. Heavy rain, high wind and then followed by snow. We pulled out a day early.
Perjalanan yang jau untuk bisa mencapai lokasi camping terbaik saya suka vlog camping nya 👍💯☕
Really enjoy this type of stuff, fire and snow so I subbed,
Here from AB Camping. 👍 Looks " GRIM" 😊
Hey theres Tony and Bruno, Yeah. First time watching you. I enjoyed it. Will watch some more. Thanks.
I love this camp. I realise it's from a while ago but so good
Yeah that was a fun camp. Think this one is a year old
반가워요 즐겁게 보고 있어요❤
Great Camp Abel ,❤Despite the weather stay safe and Continued blessings.
Thanks
Watched this episode from Toledo Washington USA
Another fabulous video Abel. I throughly enjoy watching your videos, thank you for all your hard work and efforts ❤
Orales que bien 😃👍
enjoyed watching
LOL love the wood prep from 17:35! Great edits too!! :)
Awesome mate, hope you enjoy your camp with indomie, love from Indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩
So intense I always feel like I can feel it 😊
Well looks like you are my new number one tops camper just saw Tony said gettin too old that's a total bummer 😕❤from Michigan
He will be back lol
The classic kiwi past time of fixing your tent pegs in a storm.
I suggest going to a military surplus store, and get an entrenching tool. It's a collapsible spade with a pick. It would come in handy. Or, at least a garden trowel to help dig a diversion line for water. Save the expensive boots ;)
This was a great video Abel! I really enjoyed watching it! You did a fantastic job getting the fire going in the rain and wind. Getting that wet wood to burn. The burgers looked really tasty. Food always tastes better at camp, it's just something about camping and a camp fire that brings out the flavors. You are a brave man to get out in those conditions and camp. It just makes it more enjoyable to camp in. Alot of work but it's worth it. Looking forward to your next adventure! Have a great weekend!
Yeah correct sounds like you know all about it. Thanks 😊
I have a little experience lol 😂
Great channel. Greetings from Tunisia, North Africa. Your climate in Australia is very similar to ours here. Only we have had a very dry period.
Hey. This is New Zealand by the way 😀
@@AbelandVictoria This explains the snow lol
This is New-Zealand, not Australia.
@@AbelandVictoria indeed lol. We also have snow here in Tunisia but only above 1000m altitude.
This is what men and women need to do, today’s youth in the main are not capable of this, great camp this, keep pushing yourself……makes you feel alive
Yep
Enjoyed the video! Tony has been in some pretty tough ones too like banter between you two.
Big dear from Indonesia...
