    If you're looking to compare MSFS to real world king air procedures, the Black Square Analog King Air is an overhauled version of the default King Air intended to be closer to the real thing!

    Very interesting and educational, I hope they will fix the lack of prop drag because that sounds like it would come in very handy at the speeds at which a King Air or other turboprop operates.

    I am a King Air 350 pilot as well and I am quite disappointed how poorly this airplane is modeled in MSFS. I wish there was a group of more real world pilots whiling to make a realistic mod for this. So many modeled aspects of this aircraft in-game really are so unrealistic, it is not playable for me. Hope to see some new updates in the future for this. Happy flying :)

      Right on. Yeah I held off buying the K350 for Xplane hoping the MSFS version would be the better one. But that's not the case. I'll probably end up buying the XP version soon. I need something to "fly" as my department is very slow atm.

      Don’t be too hard on them. I think the developer was on a bit of a timeline to get the game out. Would be good to see an iteration from them with some improvements based on real world feedback.

      it’s a default plane, were you expecting a study level one? which out of the box gave you a fully functional study level plane?

    • @JeremySam
      @JeremySam 3 роки тому +2

      @@masflow09 I don't expect it to be a study level aircraft, but they didn't even hit the mark on it at all. Avionics (You cant even fly a 350 with a G3000 in real life, trying to model the Fusion which was a complete fail), aircraft model (doesn't behave even close to a 350) and the performance numbers are totally unrealistic. Again, why I said I wish there was a group of real world pilots whiling to make a realistic mod for this.

    I really enjoyed this video. However, I see a lot of negative comments in regards to his comparison of both aircrafts, real world and sim. Please keep in mind, that real world pilot uses flight sims for training, as well as for gaming pleasure. I for one, wished that I had something like this in the early 90’s when I first got my pilot’s license. I was sent off with a sectional chart and minimal understanding of a VOR and NDB, on my first solo cross countries. Flying is expensive, and having sim aircrafts that’s very close to the real thing (working buttons and all) could save a young broke future pilot a lot of money.

    I think MSFS was actually trying to depict the Rockwell Pro Line Fusion setup, and just completely dropped the ball. Thanks for the review, spent a lot of time in the back of 350s, but never had that pleasure of flying one. I just know they climbed WAY faster than the 250s.

    Thanks Chaz very good! One thing that really bothers me too is the engine gauges are on the wrong side of the MFD. I’ve researched the 2020 KA 350i and the up coming KA 360 both are on the Left side of the MFD as to be in the direct view of the pilot. Again thank you! I know someone will make a real Study Version someday.

    Nice Video Chaz. I have to say i flew this plane in X-Plane very well. Tonight i flew the 350 in Microsoft Flight Simulator tonight for the first time and I have to say it sucks big time. Aerodynamics and flight characteristics are not like anything compared to the X-Plane version. Second, as soon as i power the plane up a voice says auto pilot engaged. Well that's strange. When i move my mouse over the engage button, it says engage autopilot. It should have said disengage autopilot being as it say it was engaged when i powered the plane. So then when i would throttle up just a little to taxi,, when i bring the power levers back to idle, the engines are still spinning quite a bit more than they should. meaning they didn't power down to idle. If i bring the levers down to reversers and then bring then back to idle, then they will stay idling. But the biggest problem i had was when flying it. The auto pilot would not work at all. No matter what i did, nothing. Not even the heading bug would make the plane follow it. I could not keep the plane at level flight for anything. Like i said i flew this plane in X-Plane with no problems. So i don't like this 350 that's in 2020. Maybe when someone makes an addon King Air 350 in the future than i will buy it and fly that one. And yeah hardly any of the switches work in the current one. Not fun. :-(

      I totally agree with you, as a flight simmer, I came from a X-Plane platform using the airfoil labs King Air 350 which is a pretty detailed model. But that judgment needs to be reserved to @ChazFlyz who flies it for real. If he hasn't done so already, I would enjoy watching @Chazflyz fly the X-Plane 11 (Airfoil Labs King Air 350) version and see what his thoughts were on that flight model and Aircraft Systems.
      As for me, coming from the airfoil labs model it's night and day difference. Airfoil labs version is far superior but that's only from a flight simulation aviators perspective not a real world aviator's perspective.

      I don't personally agree with any of these comments. This product is a simulator not a game. It's delivering a default aircraft which does have some systems inop - this plane never pretended to be a study aircraft but it's systems should be accessible for most people with the minimal of fuss and you always have the quick start as well. I like the default aircraft - there are numerous bugs which need to be fixed but I can fly all of them as a casual simmer and if I can fly them then so can you.

      @@dtrjones , I agree with you! We have several aircraft by default at MSFS 2020 and if we want to fly them we don't need to be real pilots. I wonder @chazflyz if you can fly easily other aircraft at real world? I think a real pilot is specialized (certified?) at a given aircraft and does not change easily to another brand. Am I wrong?

    If you are using a GPU you can't start #2 first, you have to start #1 because no line tech is going to walk near a fully spinning prop to pull the GPU plug.

    • @chazflyz
      @chazflyz  Рік тому

      I agree. But the aircraft manufacturer's checklist has the pilot start #2 first.... because the air conditioning is geared on that engine. But ask just about king air 350 pilot and they start #1 first.
      Also, 99.99% of our starts were always battery starts. We would alternate left and right starts to "spread" the wear on the starter so it wasn't always on one side for that initial battery start.

    • @chazflyz

      The visuals are great, no doubt. But what about operation of the aircraft? I can't speak for others. I buy these titles for the enjoyment of flying airplanes. But if 75% of the cockpit is inop (among other things listed in the video) it kills immersion and the novelty quickly wears off.
